Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 by Dave Scherer of pwinsider.com Note: The following is spoiler information. You have been warned. Thanks to Gary Graham for the following. I was listening to a local Columbus, Ohio radio station today and they did an ad for the Bad Blood PPV, which takes place on June 13th in Columbus, OH. They announced that the main event will be Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell match. Obviously, last night's angle will set up the match. Given the recent work of both men, this will be a great bout to see. By the way, tickets for the PPV go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Guest Dazed Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Overkill. Of both the gimmick and the participants.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Why am I not shocked the main event isn't the world title match? I predict Benoit and Jericho go on halfway through the show and everything is built around HHH and Shawn with the winner getting a title shot at Summerslam. Oh and.....ANOTHER HELL IN A CELL!? I know it's been almost a year but still.......it needs a good 2 year break!
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I'm not going to complain, it'll more than likely be a hell of match.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Depending on what happens I'll reserve bitching, but I will say that not having the title be the focus of the PPV = bad.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Would you prefer that Benoit job the title to one of these two so that the title could be the focus of the main event? Didn't think so.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 No, see page 17 of the RAW thread for my fantasty-booking idea (which is pretty solid, I might add). But if you're lazy, to dumb it down. HHH vs Michaels on RAW in two weeks for a shot at the #1 Contendership. Michaels goes over. Benoit vs Michaels at Bad Blood. Benoit over clean. HHH vs Benoit at SummerSlam. I'd rather see Benoit vs Michaels in the Main Event proving his worth as a champion then most likely being thrown into either a rushed title shot program w/ either Christian or Jericho (as they're the only ones I can see challenging him) or doing a tag title defense with Edge against (likely) Flair and Batista. A Benoit/Michaels rematch would still be better then the usual HHH/Michaels bloodbath, even though I don't doubt that the HIAC match will be decent. If they feel like making things interesting, have Bischoff come out and announce at the beggining of RAW next week that the Xian vs Jericho Cage Match is also for a shot at the title at Bad Blood, which makes sense considering that both men have challenged the champion for a title shot in previous weeks. Jericho goes over, of course.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I'm not going to complain, it'll more than likely be a hell of match. I agree. It may be overkill, but it should be entertaining and fun to watch.
Styles 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 HHH/HBK HITC and Benoit/Jericho title match= 2 potential MOTYC (on a year where we've had almost 10 4 months in already), on a single brand "throwaway" PPV is a GOOD thing!
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I'm not going to complain, it'll more than likely be a hell of match. I agree. It may be overkill, but it should be entertaining and fun to watch. I'm a fan of almost all of the HIAC matches. I even enjoyed HHH/Nash, but that might be because I went in expecting the worst thing ever. I do agree that Benoit's title defense should be the main event, but what can you do? Haven't all of the HIAC matches been the main event of every PPV that it's been on? It would be hard to go from a match like a HIAC and then have a straight up wrestling match to finish off the show.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 HHH buries HBK, nuff said.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I have no problems with it although I find it odd that Bad Blood is becoming What Fall Brawl was to War Games…at least its establishing a tradition (third HIAC at Bad Blood) and we know Shawn and HHH are well suited for the Cell, Shawn’s whose performance in 1997 is still the greatest ever…and Hunter whom has 4 apperences (6 Pac, Jericho, Nash and Foley)…
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Eh.......it's not like I ever really enjoyed any of the HHH/Shawn matches. I doubt I'll enjoy this one either. Plus I've gotten to the point where I just hate HIAC matches. Give me a good Benoit/Jericho 2 out of 3 falls match as the focus of the show.
Guest Loss Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Has it officially been reported that Jericho will be challenging Benoit? That's the impression I get from TV too, I just wondered if anyone had confirmed it.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Im sure they will call it a "Double Main event" alla WM8 Somehow the World championship match with a Killer angle Ric flair vs Randy Savage was some how less important than Sid Justice vs Hulk Hogan
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted May 4, 2004 This is great news to me. In my opinion, a Hell in a Cell match between HHH and Michaels was inevitable. It's the perfect way to blow off the HHH vs. HBK feud. The last two HHH vs. HBK matches ended without a decisive winner, so it makes sense to have a match which basically guarantees a winner. I think it's kinda funny that some people are complaining that Benoit's title defense isn't scheduled to be the main event of Bad Blood, yet some of those same people were complaining about Eddie vs. Bradshaw being the main event of Judgment Day. For argument's sake, let's say that Christian, not Chris Jericho, gets the title shot. If that were the case, should Benoit-Christian really be the main event at Bad Blood instead of HHH vs. HBK? For those who were complaining about Eddie-Bradshaw being the main event of Judgment Day, why should Benoit-Christian be any different in terms of placement on the card? Haven't all of the HIAC matches been the main event of every PPV that it's been on? It would be hard to go from a match like a HIAC and then have a straight up wrestling match to finish off the show. Nope. Mankind vs. Undertaker (King of the Ring 1998), Boss Man vs. Undertaker (WrestleMania XV), and HHH vs. Jericho (Judgment Day 2002) were HIAC matches, but they weren't the main event. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 they probably don't have a problem with Eddy being in the main event. but do have a prob with JBL
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Well, it should be a decent match...and at least the Cell means thankfully we'll have some different spots from their recent previous outings. But still. This HAS to be the last match for a year or so, SURELY.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I don't really think one HITC match a year is overkill - just so long as it's only ONCE a year, I think it's fine.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Hopefully it's a decent card so I have a reason to go.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 I'm not jumpoing the gun on this one. Classic example of a HUGE match not as the main event would be NWO 2001. Austin/HHH 3 Stages of Hell was in the middle of the card, and Rock/Angle was last. IMHO, Austin/HHH was DEFINITELY booked as the "bigger" match, but did not go on last. Benoit has been booked EXTREMELY strong since winning the title. He's almost unbeatable right now. even last night, shawn didn't really have the match won, HHH just wanted to go at him one more time. There are WAY too many huge names on Raw, and that guarantees that sometimes another match will overshadow a title match. It happens. I'm all for this HIAC match and all for Jericho getting back in the title picture (if it happens). Add that to the fact that Edge/Orton could be decent and a lot of midcard guys on RAW for god sakes are lighting it up out there, Bad blood has me ready to order. OK, so i AM jumping the gun a bit, but I jst can't see the complaints so early because Raw has been kicking major ass.
NYU 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 So let's see....comparing the top two matches from both PPVs..... JUDGMENT DAY Eddie Guerrero vs. Bradshaw The Undertaker vs. Booker T VS. BAD BLOOD Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H - Hell in a Cell Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit It's pathetic. They don't even compare.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Odd thing is, the 2 Smackdown matches can't total more than 20 minutes combined. Then what???
Guest Fook Report post Posted May 4, 2004 If Jericho gets the shot at Benoit, they can have the HHH/HBK HIAC match, Jericho/Benoit, Benjamin/Orton, and possibly Edge/Christian. That would make it a stacked show and a must buy for me.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 With the way the opening 6 man went, what the hell is up with Edge/HHH?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 JCMD- Angle/Rock and HHH/Austin was different, considering The Rock was winning the title. But besides that, if they do go with Jericho/Benoit, it would be face vs face. It's very rare for a face vs face match to go on last. However, I wouldn't be shocked to see HIAC go in middle of the card.
Styles 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 Odd thing is, the 2 Smackdown matches can't total more than 20 minutes combined. Then what??? Maybe Cena/Dupre will go 30...
tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 The title match should always be the main event I dont care if its Essa Rios defending the world title against Mighty Mouse, it should always be the last match on the card. Still either way I'll be quite happy to see the end of the Jericho/Christian feud, and for Jericho to feud for Benoit over the world title. Isnt that really what everyone wants? I do. Have these guys ever had a bad match against each other?
Styles 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2004 The title match should always be the main event I dont care if its Essa Rios defending the world title against Mighty Mouse, it should always be the last match on the card. So Bob Holly vs. Brock Lesnar should have gone on last at Rumble?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 4, 2004 However, I wouldn't be shocked to see HIAC go in middle of the card. Im even more shocked Triple Hisn't in the World Title Match of a PPV. If my memory is correct, he's been in the World Title Match @ a PPV every month since...Summerslam 2002.
