Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=2266&p=1 Scott Steiner has been cleared to return to WWE but is not expected to come back to wrestle. Despite the fact that they could use name brand talent on Smackdown right now, WWE feels that they don’t have anything creatively for him. They also feel that, even though he has largely been healthy during his WWE run, his is too fragile physically to push on television because they feel that his body has taken a lot of punishment over the years. Unless something changes, it's expected that WWE will let his contract expire and not use him again. Steiner signed a two-year contract in October 2002, so his contract will expire in October 2004. Guest Y2G Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Please say it is so :-) I'd love to clean house from limited wrestlers such as Steinr.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 then it begs the question what can steiner do? Is he just irreversibly damaged by the roids or there some way to improve his strength in his body or perhaps its personal endurance.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 5, 2004 It's kind of a stupid move when he's only going to be around for another 5 months anyway. Why not give Smackdown a somewhat decent heel that they really need right now? Don't just waste money.

They got competant wrestlers that could be pushed a bit. They don't need another JBL.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 5, 2004 As crappy as Steiner has been in the WWF I'd still take his matches over JBL any day of the week.
Guest Hot Ticket Report post Posted May 5, 2004 can the smackdown writing team only come up with the entire bradshaw storyline and parts of an eddy-rvd/dudleyz altercation and then theyre fucked? It seems they have nothing for NO ONE: Big Show Taker Rey Jr. Scott Steiner Kanyon

Good point there... OK, i changed my mind :-) Let him job for 5 months and dump him.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Yeah, I don't get why they don't do that...they don't have to give him a push, just use him to put people over instead of doing nothing.
Guest Dazed Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Certainly don't push him but Steiner could definately be used to put over the low card Smackdown faces. Exactly. Put him over a couple of jobbers that are going nowhere to build him up some more, and then have someone who needs the wins go cleanly over him.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 A clean win over a Scott Steiner would do more for Eddie Guerrero's career and credibility than Bradshaw. Anyone remember a few months ago when Bradshaw was losing to Rhyno in 2 minutes? Yeah, what an accomplishment it'd be to beat this guy.
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 I wonder why it took them THIS LONG TO REALIZE HE SUCKED. The whole world knew that at Rumble 2003.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Well if its now become clear his problems were phyiscal. Like I asked before is there any way back for him any phyiscal improvement he can do to make things better? With all Steiner has done in his career i'll never be so silly as to say he sucks at anything.
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 I wonder why it took them THIS LONG TO REALIZE HE SUCKED. The whole world knew that at Rumble 2003. He did suck at rr03 due to ring rust but he was gradually improving after that, I mean he looked pretty good at Survivor Series and the rumble 2004 match. I reckon if they gave him the right worker, like Guerrero, he'd still be able to have a decent suplex/brawling match, if given the chance to use more variety.... Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted May 5, 2004 He was fairly inoffensive against guys like Jericho and Christian. Its a slap in the face that they would treat a legend like this. Just another reason why I'll never rally behind those cocksuckers.
buffybeast 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 I'll miss the big, bad Booty Daddy! I'd like to see him on tv for a while longer. Anything other than John "JR Republican Wannabe" Layfield.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Good riddance. He should have been gone after his Rumble match against HHH. Send him to TNA, as long as he doesn't squash the X-Division ala WCW 2000/2001.

jester 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 I wonder why it took them THIS LONG TO REALIZE HE SUCKED. The whole world knew that at Rumble 2003. No, no, no, that booing was because Steiner was wearing an American flag, and the Canadians didn't like that, and because they're not over Montreal, and uh...the snack bar was out of Coke, and uh...uhm...uh...it's the economy's fault. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 After seeing Scott displays his debate skillz against Nowinski back in the day I say they bring him in as Bradshaws "Political Advisor" or dress him up in a black suit and says he's JBL Secret Service. Guest Y2G Report post Posted May 5, 2004 this coming from the company that still employs Triple H.... As someone who disliked HHH for the better part of the year (Pretty much until WM) - There is Nothing to compare between the two. In a scale of 1-10 Steiner is a 3 and HHH is a 9.5. That's how much better a wrestler HHH is.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 5, 2004 i was refering to the past history of injury proneness of HHH.
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Is it possible to go ONE thread without talking about HHH? God damn. To whomever said that Steiner as JBL's "Secret Service": that could actually be vaguely entertaining, and it would give Steiner a chance to do some of his uber-heel mic work that he does best. The only issue is that he'd probably get censored every 10 seconds. If they could just let him return to his WCW World Champ-era Steiner, then everything would be fine. The fact that they're letting him slip through their fingers is asinine.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted May 5, 2004 Exactly. Steiner could still totally work (character-wise) today. The WWE simply fucked him over early on in his tenure. Had he come in as a heel, worked a few less profile matches, and caught his groove - he would've been fine. But because of his slip, and lets face it folks - it was that one slip that turned ALL of you against him, everyone magnifies his clumsiness. The guy is still holding his own, when one with his drop foot injury, would regularly need a fucking cane to walk. He's doing quite fine as it is. What sickens me about this the most is the fact that Scott Steiner could've changed pro wrestling. We could have been using his name in the same breath as Austin, Rock, Sting, Flair, ect... He was so good in his prime. Imagine has he used his heel persona in 95 or 96. We wouldn't be talking about Steve Austin, we'd be taking about Scott Steiner revolutionizing pro wrestling. Scott Steiner in the early 90's was everything we envision Kurt Angle to be. Unfortunately Angle is grossly overated and overshadowed by Steiner's superior wrestling skills. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 5, 2004 well sadly Scott never got to expose his incredible skills in a singles environment after his injury in 1994, after that, he just wasn't the same. Actually...Brian Pillman did the Scott Steiner gimmick before anyone (at least on National TV)
