Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 WWE is reporting that Backlash did 280,000 buys, down from 350,000 buys last year and 400,000 buys in 2002. WWE was expecting a higher number of buys for the show following the strong WrestleMania XX buys. credit: 411mania I provided this info on the other Backlash tread which was ignored, I mean there was no way that a one brand PPV would get 600,000 buys when the previously highest ordered one got "only" 325,000 buys.
Kardo Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Rock/Goldberg and HHH/Hogan = More Buys then HHH/Benoit/HBK Not surprised however since they did just put on the match at WMXX and people did fork out more for that then any other ppv.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 If Judgment Day gets 100,000 I will be surprised.
SamoaRowe Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I knew those 600,000 buys were too good to be true
Lil' Bitch Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Well that sucks, although I'm sure DVD sales will make up for it, I mean after all, it was a pretty good show.
ISportsFan Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 280,000 isn't a bad number. This is the first Backlash that was split brand, and it did only 70,000 less than Rock/Goldberg with a full roster. That isn't bad at all, if you ask me. Jason
Jericho2000Mark Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Rock/Goldberg and HHH/Hogan = More Buys then HHH/Benoit/HBK Not surprised however since they did just put on the match at WMXX and people did fork out more for that then any other ppv. Not to mention that it wasn't even one of the Top Drawing matches on the WMXX card, I'm pretty sure more people ordered the show for Taker's return, Foley's first match in 4 years and Brock-Goldberg. Well at least it outdrew Unforgiven & Armageddon...
