Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Switched over during the commercial. How much are they being paid to do this ? You can tell how fake they are.
DMann2003 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Switched over during the commercial. How much are they being paid to do this ? You can tell how fake they are. They're definetely not watching the episode in any shape of form I'm not even sure they're watching a "Friends" episode
EdwardKnoxII Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Hey wouldn't it be funny if at the end of the ep Kanyon comes in and Kanyon Cutters all of the cast of Friends and then yells BANG before running off? That would make the show SO much better.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 No. Not funny. Stop while your "Ahead".
Slayer Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I'd sure like to know more about this "Kayon" fella
Guest Choken One Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Complete sappy hollywood bullshit drivel. At least the show left the way it was for the last 9 years.
DMann2003 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 As far as series finales go, that was pretty good.
EdwardKnoxII Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 No. Highly unfunny. Or better yet Stone Cold can come out on his ATV talking about how he's the new law. Then he can offer the girls some drinks and when they don't drink he can give the whole cast Stunners and then JR can pop out yelling STONE COLD. It would be GREAT.
Guest Choken One Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I knew they didn't have the balls to do the unconventional finale. They went with the typical sitcom "group" hug finale. It should have ended with Rach flying away in the plane...and Ross walking back.
Art Sandusky Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I was waiting for someone to die or at least SOMEONE to be emotionally crushed.
sfaJack Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Damn right, Choken. There was just about zero drama at the end because you just KNEW Rachel would come back. Guess they didn't want to risk pissing off the fanbase. Thumbs up show on the whole, but the ending was pretty lame.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I held it down... no tears.
Aero Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I thought it was a great finale. Besides, I wasn't expecting the best episode ever, comedy-wise, going in. I'm glad they didn't have Rachel go to Paris... Ross & Rachel needed to get back together. Anyone else expecting one of the twins to have some sort of disease problem when born? I was surprised they were okay.
River City Rocker Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I skipped it entirely. I did catch a few seconds of what TV Land was doing, though. I thought it was quite clever, although it did seem fake. So, twenty or thirty years from now, when the question "Where were you when the last Friends ever aired?" starts being thrown around, I can say "Well, I watched a dubbed Japanese game show where contestants damn near kill themselves doing crazy stunts on a cable network once known as the Nashville Network". -Ben

It should have ended with Rach flying away in the plane...and Ross walking back. What kind of crappy, unsatisfying ending would that of been? It would of gone down as the worst series finale in the history of the world. What I don't get is, how are they going to do the "Joey" show without any of the other characters being in it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chandler/Monica are the only characters moving away.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I thought about auctioning off the Friends cookbook someone gave me for Christmas about 5 years ago but then I realized that you can probably find it at the dollar store or something. Needless to say, I've never seen an episode of Friends and will keep it that way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chandler/Monica are the only characters moving away. Joey's actually going to Hollywood to live with his sister or something. That's what I got from the commercial tonight. I'll check it out when it starts, but I figure it'll bomb. Joey isn't that funny by himself... he needs Chandler.

It was his character to be the loser. I wanted him to be the loser again. I hate hate hate hate hate hate sappy endings. They are all contrived.

Exactly...If anything the show really should have had Chandler and Monica get divorced...and Chandler moves to Hollywood where he doesn't fit in with Joey.
Vern Gagne Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Someone needs to remind Rachel she has a daughter, and I doubt Monica and Chandler would leave the twins alone in their apartment for more than 10 seconds, let along the time it took Monica to dismantle the fuseball table.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 I hate hate hate hate hate hate sappy endings. They are all contrived. My thoughts exactly. And the shit at the end was just terrible with the apartment followed by a group hug.

Emma was actually at her grandmothers...so at least they go that piece of logic explained. Ya know...considering Monica wanted them kids fucking badly...she doesn't mind leaving them alone for a good 10 minutes. they should have at least implied that chandler was watching them as she ruined the table.
Vern Gagne Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Forgot about Grandma. But after Rachel came back and they where in the apartment you'd think Ross and Rachel would have their daughter with them. Another thing why didn't Ross ever mention to Rachel or anybody being so far away from his own daughter?
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Must you folks complain about every little detail ? It's pointless and quite stupid.
cawthon777 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 It ended as it should have. People don't watch Friends to feel bad, they watch it to feel good. And that was a feel-good way to end the series.

Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Was the ending a surprise to anybody ? Probably not. I mean come on, it's Ross and Rachel. After 10 years, they couldn't end the show without each other.
Anakin Flair Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Whoa, The Dames is back. I used to watch Friends back in the day, in fact I chose it over Boy Scouts when my troop degenerated into a bunch of ot heads sitting around and doing nothing all night. But I agree with (most) of the people on this board- Friends ceased to be funny years ago, and I'm glad it's gone. Oh, and NaturalBornThriller, I agree with you. Seinfeld is overrated tripe, in my opinion.
