I'm not familiar enough with British TV to really guage the options:

 

- Ewan MacGregor is too short, and too big a star. Plus, he strikes me as a guy who'd play it like Roger Moore anyway.

 

- Hugh Jackman is a possibility, except he's involved in a LOT of franchises right now, and may not want the added burdan.

 

- Guy Pierce isn't physically intimidating enough.

 

- Denzel is too American. Could he even do an accent?

 

- Bond should really be a little known.

Anyone but Bloom.

 

There are a good number of good young fresh unknowns out there...try them out instead of grabbing some "known" name who might fit the "archetype" of what bond is supposed to be.

 

It wouldn't be bad to change the character a little...I'm not saying he needs to become Gangsta Rapper on Crack...but little subtle changes.
