David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2004 The camera opens as we see David Blazenwing pumping weights in his home. As he continues repetitions, his wife Jen, about two months pregnant at this point, walks into the room. Jen: Well, you seem dedicated today. You haven’t worked out like this since you worked at PCW. David: (Laughs) Well, I have to stay in shape. After all, I don’t want to look flabby when I show up for my new job. Jen looks up excitedly. Jen: New job? You mean you got another job wrestling? David puts down the weights and sits up, then climbs off the weight bench and starts wiping the sweat off with a towel. David: Yes I did. Just got officially hired this morning. Jen walks up and hugs David. Jen: Oh, I’m so happy! So, where are you working? David: (Hesitantly) Uh… the SWF. Jen pulls back, looking slightly shocked. Jen: You mean… are we talking “SJL” SWF? David nods with a grin on his face. Jen looks at him disappointed. Jen: David… I mean, are you sure about this? I thought you and I both agreed that that horrid period in your career was done and over with. It’s a closed book, right? Right? David continues laughing. David: Truth be told, the SJL wasn’t THAT bad. Honestly, I probably could have been great there had I put a little more effort into my wrestling skills. Jen: But what about the glass ceiling? What about being held down? David: Eh, that was more or less me making excuses for my crappy wrestling. There really wasn’t any holding down in SJL… I just wasn’t good enough to hang with the likes of John Duran, Charlie Matthews, Crow and the rest. But this time… this time will be different. I’m ready this time, Jen. I’m going to make an impact. Jen walks behind David and drapes herself over his shoulders. Jen: Just… be careful. I don’t like them. But, if it’s what you really want to do, than you have my blessing. Of course, you’d do it whether you had that or not, right? (Laughs) David: I always value your input, Jen… but I feel like this is really something I have to do. I messed up the first time around, and this is my chance to rectify the situation once and for all. I became a recognized name in AJWF and PCW. But in SWF… I will become a legend. Jen: And if you don’t? David: That’s not an option. Jen grins and hugs David again, then leaves the room. David sits down and begins pumping iron again as the camera fades to black.
