CWM Gets To Teach Impressionable teens

Recommended Posts

Whatever you do DON"T check out the ass of a woman walking in late no matter how hot they are.

You will lose everyone RIGHT THERE.

And I am serious.

Looking at ass or checking out the rack of a woman is natural so you are going to have to think around it.

Sadly, I would probably try to make eye contact with the hottest senior girl there and smile alot. Thats why I will never do anything worthwhile.

Good Luck.

And yes, every motivational speaker was extremely lame ... Incidently CWM, my friends and I did a skit mocking every motivational speaker we ever had for Variety Night in high school.

How large is the group you'll be talking to?

And be prepared to be goofed upon by some of these teens -- if you let them rattle you, you're doomed...

Motivational speakers at my school are/were always Christians.

There was one guy by the name of Jurgen Matthesius ("one of the greatest speakers you'll ever hear") who got you to laugh and then roped you into converting - noone else seemed to pick up on it.

The others were actually proper motivational speakers who didn't harp nearly as much about the Lord and were upfront in the message that they were trying to get across instead of trying to mask anything.

All of them had something to offer, but some were just yards ahead of the rest.

Don't even get me started on some of the "bands" that do/did gigs in that auditorium...

By far the worst one I ever saw was this group of bodybuilders that did shit like break boards, and all this other rudimentary martial arts stuff, and feats of strength. They were a religious group, too, but they weren't all that preachy.

Did they actually do anything to get their message across?

I mean, they have to be a little bit preachy to do that - it's inevitable when you're doing it in a high school or something.

Okay. My computer's not working again so I'm at my Girlfriend's right now.

It went really well for the most part. I did it grade by grade and I was a little nervous with the grade 8's by the time the Grade 12's came in I was ready.

I think I got through to a few people. I got heckled at first but after I started telling them stories and they got the message I wasn't going to preach at them things got better. By the end I had people laughing with me at dumb things and serious at the right points.

After it was over a bunch of Grad's stuck around and I talked more with them. One of them had a younger brother who was drinking alot and he wanted me to meet him and his parents so I went with him to their house after school and talked with the parents. It was weird but pretty cool.

I might do some kind of Big Brother type thing with him.

Thanks for all the support and ideas guys.

One time I went to this thing where a bunch of bulky guys just ripped phone books and did weird shit like that. They were a Christian group, but since I don't remember the message I guess they put too much focus on the wrong aspect of their presentation.

Oh, and glad to hear it went well.

Going to random houses of people you've never met previously = bad idea. In this case it was what it was said to be, but next time you may want to use a little more discretion and have them meet you in public. Ya never know in this day and age about people.

Otherwise at least it went well and you enjoyed doing it. Kudos to you.

oh it wasn't random. I knew the parents from the community and my brother was friends with one of the kids.

I wouldn't go over to a stranger's house.

unless they had candy.

Shit, cwm - I guess you're not the asshole that I pigeonholed you to be.

Throughout all of my motivational speeces, the message has pretty much always been the same: "Life is precious. Make the most of it, and make yourself happy in whatever you do."

Or something very similar.

It is given to you pretty much by being made aware of what horrible things can happen, and how the speaker battled adversity, and for the most part, they do a good job.

They just talked about having good morals, and the usual don't use drugs/stay in school thing that motivational speakers are obligated to mention. I jawed with them afterwards though, and they got into talking about god.

What warrants them as as bad as you said that they were then? Apart from talking about God?

An asshole such as yourself giving motivational speeches.

I love it.

I didn't care about that, that's their deal. It was just that their act was totally mundane, and they played it off like they were gifted with some superhuman power from above. They didn't even lift anything that heavy, or do anything that wowed me really. Sure, stuff I wasn't strong enough to do, but a two-bit cokehead circus strongman could've done just the same.

I know what you are talking about. They have this thing on the Christian channel where big muscle guys come out and break stuff...then stop and talk about how god changed their life. Then break more stuff.

"All things are possible through the powers of christ....LIKE BENDING THIS FRYING PAN!!!!!!!" *bends* "THANK GOD".

I really don't get the connection though.

I just had another one of those talks this morning at school.

Just the usual - religion was behind it. Just a guy playing off whatever's "hip" at the moment and telling stories of people who are supposedly friends of his, as well as jumping from topic to topic without going into any depth on most of them.

96% of it made me want to shoot myself, but hey, I got through it.

My school had some pretty funny incidents with guest speakers. They didn't have anything to do with alcohol abuse. First they had some guy called Patch Adams who was some kind of crazy doctor/clown who I think there was a movie about. He ended up getting speakers banned from the school district for trying to spread his communist beliefs. Eventually they decided to bring guest speakers back and had Rocky Blier from the Steelers in the 70s. He was real boring and overly patriotic and talked about how you should stay in school. Eventually he goes "In conclusion..." and everyone cheers and gets up and leaves without him finishing. They never brought in another speaker.

We once had a substitute teacher in a class who ended up telling us stories about his gang days for an hour.

... we probably should have reported him.

Yeah, we had one of those too. "A big guy on a bike".

He had obviously paid for what he'd done and had been reformed. That or he'd been reformed without paying for anything.

Anyway, he was a top bloke.

We had this one sub who was an indie wrestler in training for MMA. HUGE motherfucker that always ate tuna. It was always a good time, because the dude was a complete meathead who had NO clue about 90% of schoolwork. He was a sub for the freshman gym class once though...THAT was hilarious. He played basketball with everyone, and was just stuffing kids' shots left and right. I was rollin'.
