ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Here we go for tonight. For those that read the spoilers...let's hope the show turns out more entertaining than the spoilers let on.
AlaskanHero Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I will probably be one of the few people posting in this thread tonight. I refuse to give up on Smackdown.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 If the opening video for Smackdown is new (I haven't watched it enough to remember), it looks pretty cool.
DerangedHermit Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 When did they redo the SD opening into that Michael Jackson video where he's dancing in front of that disco ball?
AlaskanHero Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Now there are 4 matches for JD. That's good.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 I didn't see SD last week so I don't know if it's brand new or not but yeah I like it.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 That was a newer video...and it did look good. Oooh...RVD/Mysterio vs. Dudleyz official for Judgment Day...
DerangedHermit Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Now there are 4 matches for JD. That's good. Not really.
Guest JMA Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Shouldn't D-Von get a WWE title shot since he has a victory over Eddie?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 It's just not heel Dudleys unless people are jumping out of the stands to get at them and near riots are breaking out. I know Bubba can't drop f-bombs like he did in ECW so it loses some of it's edge.
AlaskanHero Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Now there are 4 matches for JD. That's good. Not really. It's better than there only being three matches.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Now there are 4 matches for JD. That's good. Not really. It's better than there only being three matches. The next match we'll find out about on the PPV will knock it down to -89 good matches. Boring match so far, but at least the crowd still cares about RVD. And judging by the match, RVD is going through the motions, meaning he gets to job to that Damn Dudley D'Von.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 That was an ugly sell of the leg sweep by D'von. It looks like these two have never wrestled each other or something.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 That was an ugly sell of the leg sweep by D'von. It looks like these two have never wrestled each other or something. Anyone know if they ever faced each other in ECW?
tekcop Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Anyone else notice that the camera changes on nearly every one of RVD's strikes? I think we got to actally see maybe 4 of his kicks.
LaParkaYourCar Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Whoa I haven't watched Smackdown in awhile. Is that Horshu with Angle?
AlaskanHero Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Whoa I haven't watched Smackdown in awhile. Is that Horshu with Angle? Yes, I believe it is. That's what everyone says anyways.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Whoa I haven't watched Smackdown in awhile. Is that Horshu with Angle? Yup. His character name is Luthor I believe.
LaParkaYourCar Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Oh so he's the Luthor Raines or whatever the name was that they copyrighted recently?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 That was an ugly sell of the leg sweep by D'von. It looks like these two have never wrestled each other or something. Anyone know if they ever faced each other in ECW? I imagined they faed each other at some point 1 on 1. I remember they tried to headline a PPV with RVD vs. Bubba during the TNN days. Kenzo looks upset. I think he needs a hug.
tpww7 Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 They actually called him Kenzo... And ugh, time to go back to cops, its Jackie.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 ...the belt looks HUGE on Jaqueline. ...making me wonder how small the Women's Championship belt is.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 So they did drop the Hirohito name. Um...Hirohito was to be Kenzo Suzuki, but someone realized how touchy of a subject the name brings up, so it was scrapped as well as the push he would've gotten.

Um...Hirohito was to be Kenzo Suzuki, but someone realized how touchy of a subject the name brings up, so it was scrapped as well as the push he would've gotten. I know it was supposed to be him, but I had only heard rumors that they had dropped the name. Oh and someone should remind Jacqueline about Medusa.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 Oh and someone should remind Jacqueline about Medusa. Technically, Medusa and Daffney were WCW Cruiserweight Champions, not WWE Cruiserweight Champions.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 ...I wonder if, when Chavo Classic was a regularly active wrestler, he ever imagined this would happen to him?
