How much longer does Taker have?

When I first heard about Taker returning as the deadman back at the beginning of the year, I thought it was great and that it would be a great way to close the final chapter in his career. However after beating Kane at Wrestlemania he didn't retire. Now despite him hardly appearing on TV, I've noticed when he does that he is in the absoloute best shape he's ever been in his entire career. Taker has always been a little on the heavy side and when he came back with his badass gimmick he lost quite a bit of weight. Now he's in fit fit shape and nothing but trim muscle. His wrestling is just as good as it was ten years ago in my opinion. So how much longer does Taker have?

 

Taker keeps coming back and proving he hasn't slowed down and that he's still going strong. Maybe it's the constant breaks or the lack of booking. But whatever it is, it works for him. His deadman gimmick is coming back strong and it's really the only interesting thing on Smackdown. I think that the deadman should get one more title run, at least one more, before he calls the quits for good. It would definitely add life to the Smackdown brand and draw attention with the solid starpower of the Undertaker.

Taker has been a prominant aspect of SD! for the last two weeks and the ratings haven't showed much improvement. I'm probably the biggest Taker fan here, and even I understand that a title run for Taker would be fucking stupid.

Nah Im also a Taker fan but I agree with my peer that there isn't much use for a Title Run for Taker. If they keep him in Face mode then really he can't take on Eddie Guerrero. Especially with the Face heat Eddy got lately there isn't much chance of a heel turn for him. And if JBL wins You probably have someone like John Cena taking him on first. Undertaker needs to rebuild and condition to have a more fixed schedule with the TV appearances. He can't go for the world title if the WWE is just "Babe Ruthing" Him by making him a special attraction to come out and wave his hat at the crowd (Or rather zombie sit up and roll back his eyes to the crowd)

Oh, let him be. It's not like he's piling up "favourite match", "best finisher" "first live show" and so on threads. Most of them are good enough.

Any champion who can't add something to the title is a waste of time and The Undertaker's current gimmick would take attention of the importance of the title. Few wrestler's have the star power of the Undertaker but he's always been a bad pick for any title since it doesn't add anything to him but the title suffers from not being a focal point in the promotion.

Err...this is the first I can remember seeing for months without the usual 'Taker is old, he doesn't put people over' arguements that we're all tired of seeing.

On topic...if Hogan's still going, Taker's got a good few years in him yet. Even if it's just rare appearances at WManias and Japanese supercards towards the end.

I had no problem with this thread. That's why it's still here. He created four threads in a row. The first was on Bradshaw, and was closed because there's already a Bradshaw thread on the front page. Second was a Judgment Day thread, closed for the same reason. This thread was fine, I just asked him to stop making so many.

If Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Terry Funk and the 70+ year old Abdullah the Butcher is Still Active in wrestling....

 

then the 40 something Undertaker can still be able to wrestle as long as he is phyiscally capable of it. The age reason is just a fucking cop out.

Taker is not the wrestler he once was. Everyone agrees upon that. But he still sells merchandise, is totally over with the fans, and has decent matches. The frequent breaks are probably the reason for his longevity. Vince loves him and I don't think he is too quick to fire him, either. I can't stand Taker but he will not retire until he gets ready to retire.

 

Hopefully he will never bring back ScaraTaker again.

This pretty much sums it up. Wrestlers only really retire under one of two circumstances: 1. they are so injured that the literally can't get into a ring. 2. They die.

 

Taker is long in the tooth as they say, but he nowhere near the worst of the "for fuck's sake, just retire" crowd.
