Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Today the Red Sox locked up David Ortiz for 2yrs. 12.5 Million with an option for a 3rd year. Great deal from where I sit, he will be an MVP candidate at the end of this season just like he was last season. He is exactly like Mo Vaughn but better. Thank you Theo Now just sign Pedro and Varitek and i'm in heaven...

Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Real heartbreaker today. Cubs down 5 and come back to lose it by 1. Mitre's mistakes in the second pretty much cost us the game; otherwise we definitely would have won that one.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Eh, I wasn't getting my hopes up, even after Alou hit the homer. Figure he's been the only real consistent source for their offense lately and there you go. While it hurts that they lost, it's better that they stuck with it and eventually got back into the game. Mitre was really the reason they lost today, but he's still young, so that sort of thing is bound to happen. I'm not happy they lost, but I'm more content that it wasn't a complete blowout. Does he look like Andrew Jackson? Twins place Shannon Stewart on 15 Day DL. Called up Justin Morneau from Rochester.
Mik 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Not really a TWIB subject, but I don't think it deserves its own thread. Ben Petrick, former Rockies catcher retired today at 27 because he's been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Certainly wish the best of luck to him. He plans to go back to college and be a HS Coach. Noble intentions indeed.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Good to see, too, since the Rangers have come back with their bats and now are leading the Yanks. And thank god the Reds finally cashed in on some of those scoring chances. They had a chance to crack the game open early and when they didn't capitalized, I figured the Stros were in pretty good shape. Gotta question walking to GET TO Griffey, I don't care how hot the hitter ahead of him is.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 22, 2004 The Yanks can very easily ride the Enrique wave and slug back.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Johnny Damon had the Jesus beard lopped off today, and went 0-3 with 2 walks. Is the power gone? Damn Gillette and the belief that kids want to read.

Bored 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Through six innings against the Royals, Mark Mulder has not allowed a hit or walked a batter...but it's not a perfect game. He's hit three batters. Man sucks to be the Royals can't get a hit and you have to be in pain to get on base tonight. Bobby Crosby also tonight has his first multi-homerun game of his career. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Tanyon Sturtze is not very good.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 But, he was one of the greatest pitchers in Tampa Bay Devil Ray history! An addendum to my Damon post: Now that he's clean shaven, I see a resemblance to Ashton Kutcher there.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 22, 2004 The yankees have just drained me of all emotion in this game. I can't muster up the anger to yell at this disaster.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Ron Guidry is in the building. Couldn't we have just trotted him out there and told everyone he was Tanyon Sturtze? I don't think anyone actually knows what Sturtze looks like, so why not?

Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 22, 2004 A fun game tonight in Cincy...Reds deliver a huge sixth inning to knock out the Astros to make up for failing to deliver runs early. Crowd was lively and nearly sold out *Tom. already has*. Had great seats too...Three rows up from vistors bench. The crowd groaned in agony when Graves came up. That was cute. geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Biggest win of the year for the reds, unfortunatly, I did not get to go. I had to finish off the season with the rest of my UC teammates, it was not a good year. At least we opened our new park, two months late of course, we were then soundly beaten in the park christening 14-3.
Mik 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 This is from last night's win against Arizona. Look at Hee Seop Choi's face. Anybody else think that Juan Pierre and Dontrelle Willis include him in their posse, and he's the really awkward Korean member? I can totally see it happening. Driving in the car blasting rap music, playing dominos, and Choi just tags a long with this goofy grin on his face? Hey, I honestly think one of the reasons Armando Benitez is doing so well is because of Pierre/Willis. I read an article that said the most nervous he's been this season is in the domino games in the clubhouse. And I think we can all agree that if the Marlins win another series, Juan Pierre shouldn't be allowed to rap at the victory parade. That was just brutal.
