Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Sass......you're like 6'10" though right? You seem like you'd be able to carry it better and you'd naturally weigh more. That's another advantage I have. Since my frame is so large and I'm so tall you can take my gut and put it on someone with a small frame who's about 5'10" or so and they'd be a tub of goo. But I can carry it easier and it doesn't stick out as much. Still though.....if I keep dropping weight like I am.....I'll have to buy new clothes......and I don't have the money. I guess I'll pump up on weights at the same time so that they'll still fit.

Sass 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Sass......you're like 6'10" though right? You seem like you'd be able to carry it better and you'd naturally weigh more. Correct. I can carry the weight right now but I don't want it to bite me in the ass later on down the road and hinder me health wise. I have no reason anymore to keep all the mass with me now that the WSM contest is a long gone dream. I'd like to improve my speed and range of motion as well since I've been doing a lot more cardio than pumping iron in the gym lately. My family has had a history of health problems (mainly heart related) and I want to do as much as possible to ensure that I can live a life with as few health problems as possible in the years to come for me (shit happens as we know but I'd like to better my chances). You're going to be a stud on the rugby team though Dama. I can see the drive you have to be the best you can be along with the desire to win above all else. You'll do great. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted May 18, 2004 A lot of girls put time and effort into their looks. Why should you be exempt from that? Whenever I'm depressed or feeling down, there is nothing like going to the local McDonald's and seeing a couple of fat fuckers scarfing down a happy meal to make me feel better, since at least I know that I'm better then them. Now stop complaining about your weight issues on internet wrestling message boards, put away the bag of potato chips, get off your ass, and go get some exercise you lazy, ugly, fat faggot. Yes, since fat guys at McDonald's that are stuffing their face have a reputation for kicking asses and taking names. If I said that to him, I doubt he'd even put down his cheeseburger, let alone get out of his chair. In fact, it would probably only cause him to eat more. And don't try to kid yourself; you don't have a point. Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted May 18, 2004 netslob, here's the deal. If you care about losing weight and looking good because it will make you feel better, than do it. If you don't want to lose weight and conform, (which wouldnt be the case in America, since you are the majority) than don't. But either way, stop contradicting yourself and do something about it. You're really not drawing any conclusions or making any changes. Instead you bitch about being fat and getting made fun of, but also saying that you don't really feel the need to change. If that is the case, than stop bitching because you aren't doing anything to make people change their opinions towards you.
Guest Dids Report post Posted May 18, 2004 You deserve all the bullshit. There's absolutely no excuse to be a lardass in this day and age, because I used to be one. I lost NINETY FIVE POUNDS in 2 years. Doing what? GASP! Dieting and exercising and having some respect for myself. If you're fat, it makes you ugly and means you're going to die quicker. High blood pressure, poor circulation, diabetes, arteries stiff as boards choked with plaque..fuck all that. Being obese is becoming a bigger killer in this nation than smoking, and NOTHING should ever be worse for you than fucking smoking. It says something pretty sad about this country when me, a former fat depressed closet gothic tub of goo and chronic pothead, can change himself for the better both psychologically and physically, and plenty of actual decent americans cannot. Don't give me any of that genetic crap either. If Calorie intake < calories used, you will lose weight. Easy math. For the record, I'm now 6'3" and 200lbs, the vast majority of which is muscle. Anything left to lose is purely for my own vanity. So, don't give me the "Don't hate me because I'm fat," speech. Being fat is a decision you make for yourself, which means you are fair game for whatever appropriate insult gets flung your way. Bingo. I'm overweight (by a lot) and fighting with it, and it isn't going well. That said. Fuck all that "respect fat people and think they're pretty too" bullshit. Being fat is unhealthy. You need all the negative renforcement you can get. The first time I lost weight I did it because I saw how shitty my grandparents got when they didn't treat their body's right, and I didn't want to be like that when I was 50. I like the fact that the seats at the M's game are too small for me, I like the fact that I have to drive to Wal-Mart to find pants that fit me. I like that I feel like shit walking home from the bus (up a steep hill) because that all reminds me that every time I gorge myself on Burgers and Ice Cream I'm helping to make my life shorter. I I don't treat myself with respect, I can't expect that from other people.
Guest Dids Report post Posted May 18, 2004 And in terms of women, I never expect them to find me attractive. I sure don't find me attractive. That's my problem, not theirs. Truth be told weight isn't really going to get in your way, you see big dudes with girls all the time. It's probably more than you're feeling sorry for yourself and not working with the confidence you need to pick anybody up. (and that's understandable, 'cause that's what I deal with on a daily basis). All that said- I do agree that people have a fucked up opinion of what fat is. I'm fat, somebody carrying 20 extra pounds isn't.

I'm actually going to lift weights with a guy from work who used to play Rugby and Basketball in college. He's pretty fucking ripped and he told me he'd whip my ass into shape if I wanted to. Like I said.....I'm big. And I still have some of the gut. Come August it needs to be gone, the arms need to be bigger, and my legs need to be a hell of a lot better. The greatest thing about me is that I have a big enough frame to weigh 300 pounds and be all muscle. However that'd work if I played football......since I play Rugby I don't really want to be one of those 300 pound muscle monsters. I just need to be cut, and strong. But the less weight the better since I have to run so much.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I'm 6 foot 2 and around 2304-240 and it's pretty much all muscle, but at one point I was one fat mother fucker. And Genetics can play a part in wether or not you're PREDISPOSED to being fat. It's still up too you wether you stay fat or not but some people are just designed in a way that it's very easy to gain alot of weight. I don't think it's right to hate on fat people just because they're fat. By that logic we should hate everyone who's too skinny as well since that's unhealthy also. Expecting everyone to sympathize and feel sorry for you because you're fat is a little too much perhaps but it's more than a little ridiculous for people to disrespect fat people like some have in this thread, a few of whom I know aren't exactly in the greatest of shape themselves... Guest Brian Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Brian, those numbers you can do with the weights is pretty frickin amazing man. You could come in handy as my spotter if we ever went to go work out. How tall/big are you if you don't mind me asking? Currently I'm treading around 330 but I'd like to drop about 15 or 20 more pounds for health reasons (I'm getting older and don't need any more excess weight). The heaviest I ever weighed was 380 and that was at my peak when I was training for the World's Strongest Man comptetition the last couple of years (along with a possible try-out for the AFL team the LA Avengers). I'm roughly 6'1", 220-230 depending when you catch me. All fucking natural, never tyouched a suplement in my life. Like Dama, I have the gut problems, but I have under 5% body fat in my arms and legs. It's weird, I think I have good abs because I can take a ton of shots to the gut and do a ton of crunches, but I just have that residual gut. Don't drink either. I'm going to try and drop 20 pounds when I get out of school during the summer and can really lay down a foundation for a good diet. Last time I dieted, I lost fifteen pounds in ten days and had some decent definition in my stomach, but it wasn't the kind of thing I could keep off with the restaurant job. You've gotta have a set eating schedule and timetable to really drop it. I'm looking to hit 5 plates by the end of the summer.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Two things: 1) When I thought I was out of shape, I was nowhere near as bad as you guys, I still looked relatively thin, except I still carried some baby fat that just wouldn't go away. I was always the biggest kid in my family. Now I'm 5'10 and 180 lbs, and now that rugby season has started I feel in better shape than ever. 2) This thread didn't go the way Netslob planned. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I had short periods of time in which I felt fatter than usual, but I think they were just transitory things that growth spurts helped to even out. Guest Dids Report post Posted May 19, 2004 Nope. There was this really said night where my friends and I were out with this girl. She was complimenting all of us- and got to my once friend with a hair lip who was just funny looking. After a pregnant pause she's like "You... have nice calves". I felt horrible for him (of course I'm the fat kid, and my attribute was "the baby face" which isn't exactly a compliment, because if you look at pictures where I've lost weight, I don't have a baby face at all). Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 Well I know how to get rid of the gut. Just eat better. That's easy. The old "You can eat whatever you want as long as you workout" is a lie to. Actually it's not so much what I eat.....it's how much I eat. Because I eat 3 meals a day but my job entails manual labor and then I also workout so I get really........REALLY hungry. So what I'll do is when I go to eat I'll get a bunch of food. Then I'll eat it all and feel sick afterwards and be like "Oh man I ate way to much." That's my biggest problem. I did just get back from lifting weights though. Good session. I burned out on everything. Oh another way to lose weight. Don't drink soda. That's one of the worst things you can put in your body. So we've established it sucks to be fat in America, or something. But what's it like to be fat in Canada?
