Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 21, 2004 for Sean Casey. The guy's getting no press despite hitting .364 so far this season with 15 2B and 28 RBI. He's been on fire all season to this point but I guess he doesn't get a lot of attention since he's not a homerun hitter. Any other players out there not getting the attention they deserve? Mik 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I second that Lyle Overbay nomination. Unforunately I had him on my fantasy team LAST year. I knew he'd be good.

Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I love Casey. Such a great person and great pure hitter. I am not one to expect power from everyone, and I'll take 15 HR, .300+ Avg for Casey any year, but - with that said, 4 HR, and just 10 walks in 151 AB doesn't normally equal greatness. Though, Casey has been exactly that - great. He's hitting .444 with runners in scoring position (36 atbats), and I mentioned low amount of walks - he has only struck out 14 times as well. PLUS, yeah theres more - he's really underrated defensively.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 I second that Lyle Overbay nomination. Unforunately I had him on my fantasy team LAST year. I knew he'd be good. I'll third that nomination, as he's one of my main guys on my fantasy team and is just damn good. Glad I picked him up.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 From where I sit, Overbay is getting plenty of attention. Most of the guys mentioned here are just hitters on hot streaks.
Bored 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Might not truly qualify for this since he did have a very good season last year before getting hurt and that's Melvin Mora. Many thought last year was probably a fluke but came into tonight leading the A.L. in OBP and OPS. Oh and thought of someone...Jack Wilson. Okay probably not going to slug .548 all year but hey best shortstop in the N.L. to this point this season.

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Rafael Betancourt. 25 Ks, 1 BB. His move to homeplate should be called a balk each and everytime. Watch him pitch. Oliver Perez. 49Ks, 12 BBs. 2.96 ERA. He got rocked in his last start and I expect that trend to continue. Its going to be a couple seasons before he reaches his full potential. Bobby Abreu. 299/409/611. 11 HRs. 7 SBs, 0 CS. Lance Berkman. 336/494/603. Are you kidding me? These two are spoken of often on BBTN. I personally think Kruk wants to give Abreu and Thome each a hand-job with the way he talks about them.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 When Bobby Abreu gets an MVP vote, then he'll have received recognition. Until then, he's criminally underrated.

Actually Casey can be considered to be on a cold streak as his average was about .380 till a few weeks ago.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Please...Baseball tonight keeps saying he and Pujols are the ONLY ones capable of hitting the triple crown. Helton gets the "respect"...but he needs to leave Colorado...
