They've also never been on the receiving end of a Ben Wallace elbow or run face first into a brick wall named Shaq. You seriously think that NO ONE has ever thrown a vicious elbow in a streetball game? Keep in mind, a lot of these guys play for hours every day, especially during the summer. For that, they probably take MORE elbows in three months than NBA players do in an entire season. Also, NBA players get easier foul calls. You have to kill someone in streetball to get a foul. Isaiah Thomas, mark Jackson, Jamal Tinsley, Glenn Rice, Ron Artest...all these guys automatically pop to mind when you talk about streetballers that made the jump. They were just better than the rest of the streetball players. At the same time I don't think most of you have ever really seen one of thsoe games, because they have the "tricks" part and they actually play a real game. They can play D. They can play the team game. There are a lot of consistant shooters. Its just that the NBA players are better at it. They are very good players, just no the best, or don't appear to be the best. People also have to remember, all those little ball tricks that And 1 players can do, most NBA players can do them too. they are just to busy trying to win the game. A lot of streetballers who could have made it didn't because somewhere along the way, they fell off the course. Ripper, how old is Stacy Dash now? 35? 40? Yet she can still play high school roles.... I saw him play in summer ball against my uncle ( who scored fucking 14 against a future NBA all-star), in college ( again against my uncle) and if you ask anyone with basketball knowledge about some of the better pickup players out of Michigan, Glenn Rice would be on the list Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

He's practically guaranteed a spot in the NBA. Seven footers and big bodies are in demand, regardless of skill, especially when Shaq, Duncan or Yao are in town. Size, Streetballers usually have to play multiple positions sometimes because every team is smaller, like myself for example I might be tallest player on one team and I might be the smallest on the next team. 2.Lacking Fundememtals, certain guys have good skills in one area and then have a weakness in another area. 3. Either they fucked up in school and not doing what they're supposed in classroom or they went to a small school in D2 or D3. 4. Moves are illegal, and The NBA does harbor bad feelings about streetballers IMO. But there's alot of streetballers in the league (Marbury, AI, Tinsley, Skip Alston, Jason Williams) Streetball element are in some of their games. Lets reverse it, some NBA players can't play streetball because their game is not suited for it, especially with post players. I remember Vince Carter got torched by Future. AI has typical streetballer size and he takes a pounding every game, what difference does it make? Plus in Streetball, the fact that there's no ref calling fouls.
