KingPK Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Got a little behind the times there. I don't get the Sox road trip this week; they fly all the way out west for TWO games against the Angels, and then trek to Kansas City for the weekend. Who thought THAT up?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Does it really matter? Its maybe another hour than usual on an airplane. Big series to start is Chicago-Houston. Those two teams are the big hitters in the Central.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Tomorrow's going to be a big hitter's game between the Cubs and Stros, considering the two starters. Wednesday should be a dandy of a pitcher's showdown, unless Clement decides to start hitting every batter in sight.
KingPK Posted June 1, 2004 Author Report Posted June 1, 2004 Usually when they go out West, they stop in Oakland, Seattle, or both. And it isn't even a normal three game series, it's just two. They have an off day on Thursday to travel, so that's good, but I just found it odd scheduling.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 The scheduling does suck this year. The Phillies get only six games against our cross-state rivals, the Pirates. Three are at home in April, and three in September in Pittsburgh. And that's IT.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Staying on course with the schedule sucking, I believe the Cubs and Astros are done playing eachother after mid June or early July.

Bored Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 The scheduling does suck this year. The Phillies get only six games against our cross-state rivals, the Pirates. Three are at home in April, and three in September in Pittsburgh. And that's IT. Which poses the question (that I've tried to figure out before) why the hell are the Pirates in the Central? When the Brewers moved to the N.L. why didn't the Pirates move to the East? It just makes no sense at all that the Pirates and Phillies aren't in the same division.
sfaJack Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Staying on course with the schedule sucking, I believe the Cubs and Astros are done playing eachother after mid June or early July. Not quite. Cubs @ Astros -- Aug. 20-22 Astros @ Cubs -- Aug. 26-29 But then that's it. Kinda retarded not to have them play at least two games in September. That isn't asking too much, is it? Better yet, 6 different three-game series, and have one during each month of the season. But an equivalent travesty is that Cubs/Cardinals are finished July 20. How stupid is that? Getting rid of the unbalanced schedule (which I kind of like) and/or interleague play (which needs to die) would help a lot.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 ok, then it was the Cubs/Cardinals I meant. I knew the Cubs and one of their primary rivals were done after June or July. Reason being somebody said Mark Prior may not end up facing them at all due to the schedule.

Spaceman Spiff Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Headline I'm pulling for this week: "Roberto Hernandez To Be Shut Down For The Remainder Of The Season."
Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Headline he'll get instead; "Phillies trade with Pirates, bring back Jose Mesa"

EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Which poses the question (that I've tried to figure out before) why the hell are the Pirates in the Central? When the Brewers moved to the N.L. why didn't the Pirates move to the East? It just makes no sense at all that the Pirates and Phillies aren't in the same division. Its simply that no Eastern team would easily fit within the Central.
Bored Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 But they wouldn't need to move anyone to the Central. The Central currently has six teams and the East has five. Why can't the East have six and the Central have five? That's why I've always wondered why when the Brewers moved the N.L. that the Pirates weren't then moved to the East?
Guest Choken One Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Why isn't Houston in the AL West? Then that would allow every division to be equal of five teams...
Bored Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Because that would give an odd number of teams in each league which would mean an interleague series would have been scheduled for everyday of the season.
treble Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 But then there'd be an odd number of teams in each league, which would make scheduling a lot harder.
Guest Choken One Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 makes sense...but i don't think it's fair the NL Central has to be the one suffering... They should trade the Brewers every season...One year in the AL central...then NL central then AL central again.

Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 I love having Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr in my OF(for my Fantasy Line-up that is). I bench Dunn against lefties cause he can't hit them at all so basically my OF has become Dunn, Griffey Jr, Burrell, and Chipper Jones. That's gotta be good for 120homers.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Rolen just got DRILLED in the head...and got right back up and ran to first.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Well what type of pitch did he get hit by? If it was a fastball he's nails, if it was a slow curve that the pitcher lost his grip on...well, that aint so bad. Those batting helmets can take some punishment.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Some racecar driver through out the first pitch. I'm willing to let racecar driving alone, all I ask is that they keep that shit out of my sport and my Stadium.
The Czech Republic Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Some racecar driver through (sic) out the first pitch. I'm willing to let racecar driving alone, all I ask is that they keep that shit out of my sport and my Stadium. Do you own Yankee Stadium? Do you own Major League Baseball? Huh? Huh, Anglesault? Do you own them? No? Then what right do YOU have to call them "yours," huh? How can you go about calling it yours? Did you build The House That Ruth Built? You didn't? So then you can't call it yours! Or you can just not freak out at Cubs fans and such who enjoy calling it "their" team.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Or you can just not freak out at Cubs fans and such who enjoy calling it "their" team. What? I ALWAYS call them "My Yankees"
