Is anyone going/thinking of going to Wrestlemania?

....Tickets go on sale 9 months BEFORE the event? I had no clue. I wouldn't go because it's like 2,000 miles away.

I have no idea really...I just know that they start talking about Wrestlemania so damn early that I thought the tickets may already be on sale

Within 2hrs. Tickets went on sale in September last year for WMXX. Packages went on sale at the very start of July.

I'm going to at least make an attempt to go - Staples Center is about 15 minutes from where I live. I was thinking about this earlier today, actually.

A bit under 20,000 I think for the Staples Center if I'm not mistaken.

Ticket prices for floor may run about $400, but I'd expect $500 or more for the first few rows (but you get a FREE CHAIR!!!).

I think they should go higher than $500 a seat (even if they come with free chair.) SummerSlam prices have already been announced and they're going for $400 a pop for the first rows so you know Mania should go higher. WMXX had over $250 prices for first level seats, so figure it out.

MSG holds somewhere between 22,000-24,000 people so Staples Center is a bit smaller. I was there for the RAW after WM2000, so I might try to make it next year, too.

Well, it depends. Anybody know what the price was for front row WM XIX seats? We can get a good estimate after that.

Got the e-mail back from WWE on the package deals:

HERE'S YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE THE HOTTEST TICKET FOR 2005... If you thought that WrestleMania XX was a milestone, just wait 'till Sunday, April 3, 2005, when WrestleMania turns "21" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. As you'd expect from World Wrestling Entertainment... and Hollywood... we're planning a once-in-a-lifetime, star-studded event to mark the occasion. We have reserved terrific seats as part of the exclusive WrestleMania 21 Travel Packages.

Here's a brief summary of what's included in the packages:

- Some of the "best seats in the house" at Staples Center for WrestleMania 21

- "MidDay Madness"; a private autograph and photo session with WWE SuperStars

- Tickets to "Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch" featuring a question-and-answer session with WWE SuperStars

- Tickets to the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Exclusive WrestleMania 21 souvenirs

- Three-night room accommodations at a first-class hotel in downtown Los Angeles

Please be aware that the seating capacity at Staples Center is smaller than at Madison Square Garden. Considering that WrestleMania 21 is another big milestone event, there will be a tremendous demand for a very limited number of seats so make your plans now while tickets last! The cutoff for all Travel Package Request Forms is Tuesday, August 31st... unless Travel Packages sell out prior to that date! We look forward to having you join us at the most exciting and spectacular WrestleMania weekend of all time! Remember, we only turn "21" once. Be there!

********************************************************************

WrestleMania 21 Platinum Travel Package - Request Form Each person on this request receives a WrestleMania 21 Platinum section ticket (sections vary depending on seating capacity at venue), a commemorative WrestleMania 21 chair, a WrestleMania 21 souvenir, a MidDay Madness ticket, a Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch ticket, plus a Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony ticket. Each person on this request (maximum 4 people) shares a standard room with three-night hotel accommodations in downtown Los Angeles.

_____ Single Occupancy - 1 Person @ $1,832 (USD) - Total Cost: $1,832 (USD)

_____ Double Occupancy - 2 People @ $1,567 (USD) per person - Total Cost: $3,134 (USD)

_____ Triple Occupancy - 3 People @ $1,506 (USD) per person - Total Cost: $4,518 (USD)

Nice deal and all, too bad I can't fucking afford it.

Back in the 80s, MSG might have been able to cram in 22,000 people, but there's no way in hell that happens now. The building only holds around 18,000 for basketball, and with elaborate sets for PPVs blocking off seats, you can figure on a similar amount for wrestling.

That WM21 press release might have said Staples is smaller, but I guarantee you they find a way to fit more people.

Might as well go. I mean, really, what's a trip from New York to LA to watch Orton and Cena fight for the titles?

What was the appeal for me to go again?

The capacity at MSG is about 18500 for wrestling.

staples is not a bad venue for wrestling. I went to both a smackdown there in aug 01 and to unforgiven 02. too bad the la crowd is typically not a great one, though for the ppv i went to they were pretty good for a change. (i had floor seats behind the sd announcers desk about row 12 or somethin only cost 90 bucks but that wasn't mania)

I would like to go, seeing as I missed out on wm 10 when I still lived in n y, and wms 12 and 16 in anaheim. I wonder if they will have fan axxes again or a hall of fame ceremony?
