tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2004 Did La Resistance get cheered? The crowd was loving La Resistance. They were cheering them over Benoit & Edge when they won the Tag belts. They were cheering them big time hell they even went into the crowd to celebrate with the people after the win and they were all just eating it up.
Guest Wondermouse Report post Posted June 2, 2004 At least our naturalized Frenchies, the Cajuns, are actually cool. We're more like naturalized French-Canadiens. We're not very cool, either.
Guest Dids Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Eugene is quickly becoming my least favorite wrestling character. His segments are already stale, I am sick of him. Eugene is the best thing about raw, and the best booking the WWE has done in a long time.
Guest Fook Report post Posted June 2, 2004 The problem with Eugene is oversaturation. He got so popular so fast that the writing team is putting him all over the show. How many segments was he in on Monday? Four? Five? He's great for one or two, but after that he does get repetive and stale.
Guest OraleHolmes Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Yeah, they need to avoid overexposure with Eugene. Even Austin wasn't overexposed at first.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Rikishi and Too Cool were fresh, recently turned faces, and Rumble '00 was there "coming out party". I thought it made them look like a million bucks, and it was pretty damn funny. NYC had every right to dance with them. It was a "special moment" and one of the first Rikishi dances to occur...the first on PPV, if I'm not mistaken.

Fans are also still seeing him live for the first time. Maybe in a few months everyone will be sick of him but to say that Canadians aren't the coolest fans anymore just because they cheered for Eugene and that the NYC fans have taken over that title even though they popped like little bitches for Rikishi & Too Cool's dancing doesn't make sense. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 See, the thing is, there's gimmicks that work, and then there's gimmicks that don't. Too Cool is so far beyond it's experation date that the contents smell funny, have weird things floating in the stew, and the top and bottom of the can is bulging for some inexplicable reason. But when it was new, it made a short-term gimmick that worked. I get the feeling that over the next six months Eugene will be a really devisive character. To me, it's insulting. I'm suprised so many aren't insulted. We all originally agreed that the childlike crap was going to have to halt once he got in the ring, but so far it's been "LOL WATER BOTTLE FUNNY. LOL HE MENTIONED OLD WRESTLER HOW FUNNY." Throw on the Rock shit and now you have marks going "LOL MOCK PEOPLE'S ELBOW FUNNY." Hey, if they wanted to go through with it, that's their thing. But putting him any higher up on the card than Benjamin is ridiculous.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 3, 2004 Smart crowds are great to see reactions, but they drag down true emotion - WrestleMania XX for instance. Well, it was mostly that they didn't give huge enough pops where due. And that was one factor that made WrestleMania XX disappointing.

Well, it was mostly that they didn't give huge enough pops where due. And that was one factor that made WrestleMania XX disappointing. How so? The crowd was very emotionally invested in the handicap match and the three-way. The only match the crowd was "smart" for was Goldberg v. Brock. The emotion in that building during HHH v. HBK v. Benoit was real. Whenever it looked like HHH was about to win- the crowd grew very angry. Whenever Benoit was in control the crowd was hot- the building was shaking when Benoit had him in the crossface wanting HHH to tap. I really don't see your point here.
