Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Edge falls under the category of Bradshaw in my eyes... He's fine for a Mid-card title feud and Tag Team title runs, but he shouldn't be in the Main Event scene now. I would probably order a PPV with Edge headlining than Bradshaw, but still, he's not someone I'd pay to see in the World Title Match every month.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Um.. Have the fans been given a reason to cheer Edge?
Brett Favre Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Um.. Have the fans been given a reason to cheer Edge? He speared Eric Bischoff, and now looks mean. He also said to Randy Orton, "I just don't like you". Those are some good reasons according to the WWE.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Don't forget he had the epic cast gimmick and a win over the biggest heel on the roster* - Kane. (*Not actually the biggest heel on the roster)
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 He's the tallest, so technically he's the "biggest heel on the roster".
Shanghai Kid Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 They have tried to push Edge in the past, it's not like he hasn't been given an oppertunity. He should of been a clear-cut main eventer after his feud with Angle....but.....he's in a worse posistion now. I agree with whoever says he is a midcarder for life.
Guest JMA Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 I always dug Edge's inital mysterious character (before he joined the Brood even) over his surfer dude one. Not that the "Valley" Edge wasn't entertaining, it's just a matter of personal enjoyment.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 The high point of Edge's career for me was ripping off NewsRadio. He's never really done anything special for me. His smart-ass heel stuff was good, but face Edge I find pretty boring.

Because after that feud he did what? Was in a tag team with Hulk Hogan? Kinda, sorta, feuded with Jericho? Teamed with Rey? Not exactly the greatest followups to a feud with a main eventer. It's one thing to beat a main event guy, but you have to follow up. They never gave him anything to follow up with.
The Tino Standard Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 IIRC one the major factors for moving him to RAW was to start a program with HHH. That sure went places. Yeah. "Over the summer," was the way it was put. However, HHH is going be out of the picture at Vengeance to film his movie, and Benoit/HHH is the most likely Summerslam match. So where's HHH/Edge fit in? If I had to take a guess, after you-know-wHHHo wins his title back at SummerSlam, his title defense program in the fall will be against Edge.
