The Tino Standard Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 http://www.easports.com/games/madden2005/c...torsedition.jsp This sounds AWESOME... Kinda strange that it's only for the PS2. Oh well. By the way, I can't wait to see the mockumentary on the Madden Cover Jinx.
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 This gives a bit of crediblity to my theory that EA isn't going to go bother going Live quite yet. Why would they still be catering to their PS2 audience like that?
Guest Flyboy Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 Why would they still be catering to their PS2 audience like that? EA & Microsoft have beef. EA went Live because they know they lose consumers if they're not with it, but they don't want Sony feeling bad because Madden online for PS2 was the only reason PS2 Madden outsells Xbox Madden. So, EA goes to blow Sony by doing a collector's edition. I couldn't careless because I'm not even buying Madden this year.
Scroby Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 This sounds AWESOME... Kinda strange that it's only for the PS2. Not really since Madden sells the most on PS2. So it doesn't surprise me.
The Tino Standard Posted June 7, 2004 Author Report Posted June 7, 2004 I'm a bit out of the loop on all of this, so hopefully you guys can help me out... Based on what I've read in here so far, I understand why they wouldn't put the collectors' edition on the XBox, but does EA have a problem with Nintendo too? Not that I care TOO much... I have a PS2 after all, but still, I'm curious.
NoCalMike Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 having a playable version of Madden from the old days is a cool idea. I remember those days. Madden 94 was so great. I liked how in the old days of Madden, on defense you could go down and mess up the huddle for your opponent, as long as you made it back on time before they snapped the ball. You could cross the line and start bumping their line around if you could make it back in time. Hilarious stuff.

Based on what I've read in here so far, I understand why they wouldn't put the collectors' edition on the XBox, but does EA have a problem with Nintendo too? Nintendo's gone to being the third system as of late and hasn't really made an impact in their sales as much as LIVE or PS2 will. Hence why N is getting cut out of it.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Please, please, please let the 16-bit version be from '93...

Guest Vitamin X Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 *marks out, then remembers he doesn't have Live*
