Nevermortal Posted June 14, 2004 Author Report Posted June 14, 2004 I played Fight Night 2004 yesterday. Using the right thumbstick to punch is the most awkward control scheme ever. No matter how hard I try, I will never get used to that. EVER!
Guest KingofHarts Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 KOTOR or Fable (If you like RPG's these are the best!)
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Fable hasn't even come out yet!! Though I have to admit KOTOR has me completely hooked. I can't stop playing it, and I'm actually looking forward to going back at the beginning and starting all over as a darkside female soldier and again as a lightside male scout. Right now I'm a male scoundrel who teetered on neutrality but thought the darkside would be more fun, but I was wondering with the big plot twist on the Leviathan how exactly that would play out as a female.. Those who have beaten the game could know. Also, I assume that the love story as a female probably involves Carth, so it would be great to turn his ass down and be an evil bitch. Anyways, I'd look forward to any RPG that had a similar battle system, since that is the best one I've ever played in an RPG that wasn't an action RPG. Anyone know any other real-time combat RPGs? (I know there may not be any other for Xbox, but maybe for the other systems?)
Guest TSMAdmin Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I purchased an XBox this past month but haven't received it yet. I have been picking up games for cheap on ebay. So far I have grabbed Jet Set Radio Future/ Sega GT 2002 Project Gotham Racing Midnight Club 2 Max Payne 2 Halo KOTOR Ninja Gaiden Manhunt Splinter Cell: Pandora's Tomorrow I hope this keeps me busy for the next 6 months. Feel free to commen on the above titles so I can get another perspective on what to expect.
Anya Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I was female in KOTOR..... the twist is the same. Revan was just a girl. I did the love story with Carth. I was good, so he stayed with me even after the big surprise. I wonder how KOTOR 2 is going to work with that though. It better not make Revan male by default
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Damn, well fuck that then. No sense in going through the whole evil storyline again, since I didn't feel like Revan was a very female-ish name I thought the twist in the female storyline would have been that Carth would have been Revan instead. I think KOTOR 2 is going to take place far after the time of KOTOR but still way before the prequels. I see it happening more with the dark side ending taking precedence over the light side ending as the light side ending was fuckin WEAK compared to "ALL HAIL LORD REVAN!" with Bastila being the sexy apprentince at the side. And, of course it sets up a great sequel.
Anya Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Yeah, being female really makes the twist even more shocking. I NEVER thought Revan would be a girl with that name and I always think of like Darth Vader and the Emperor when I think of sith. You just assume Revan is male. I used my save file to turn evil just to see what it was like and Carth ran off all upset, saying he thought he loved me and all that. It was pretty funny. I tried getting Bastila to turn back to the lightside, but because I was a woman I couldn't use love to turn her so I ended up having to cut her head off. I know KOTOR II lets you decide how KOTOR ended. You like answer questions at the beginning to decide if they went with the light ending or the dark ending. What isn't known is how they will show Revan, since he/she would obviously look different for everyone. Maybe they won't show Revan at all.

Well in that case they'll probably just go with whatever the player chooses, for example if the player chooses a black female, Revan would be a black female..
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 This thread belongs to me now. Sell me some xbox games. If it's sports, I have no interest in being a super manager beyond doing the odd trades and stuff. Just wanna play a good game of hockey or baseball or whatever. The only game I own is morrowind goty, and I will soon own mechassault. So, what else do i need? Just anything that comes to your head, genre non specific.
Guest SpiderFan Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Aside from what's mention in this thread, I'm been ejoying Psi-ops. The abilities are really fun to use. The game does have some detectection problems (it can be hard to jump to a certain place or to grab a ledge) but overall it's a solid game.
Anya Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Yeah, I just beat Psi-ops. It's really good. The powers are a very innovative and entertaining gimmick. There really is nothing like it in gaming. It's very short, but well designed. Everyone should get it! It's cheap now too.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 See, if I don't get some of you in-the-know people to start participating in this thread, then I'm gonna end up continuing to buy games like nba live 2003
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted August 1, 2004 Report Posted August 1, 2004 I should mention that obviously required games for me are Halo and Mechassault. I think my next purchase will be Fight Night 2004
