Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 POPICK: Hey, no problem, G. POPICK: And that's the truth, Ruth! I don't think I was supposed to be in tears reading this, but I was. Good lord, I haven't laughed like that in ages.

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Good show tonight, but the matches could have been spread out a little more. It seemed like the first half of the show was promos and the second half was matches.

Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 (edited) Good show tonight, but the matches could have been spread out a little more. It seemed like the first half of the show was promos and the second half was matches. That's because just about every match had to have a promo before it and every match had to have space between it and it's set up promo. Did that make sense? Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Actually, Zack, "And That's The Truth, Ruth!" is one of PRL's catchpharases. I've used it before with PRL. I just wrote Popick using it tonight, just like PRL used Popick's catchphrase (Fuck me? Fuck You!). So, this is the last HeldDOWN~! I'm sending stuff in for a few months. P.R. is in jail, and he won't be back until the fall/winter, so I won't be apart of the show for the whole summer. I'm just taking a break from the OAOAST, since I've been apart of the efed for a year and a half. I'm taking a break from writing, so that I can reenergized myself, relax, so that I can come back 100%. Plus, I'm moving to Miami, Florida, so I have to do the move, and get accostumed to my new surroundings, and stuff like that. Trust me, what's going to happen when Tha Puerto Rican returns will be shocking and interesting. Even though I'm going to be away, I don't want The Lightning Crew to disappear. Stephen Joseph is in charge of The Lightning Crew now. The Lightning Crew are: Cuban Wall, Vitamin X, Ms. Lindsay Gonzalez, Mr. Boricua, and Thomas Rodriguez. I posted their stats in the Character Specs thread, so if anyone would like to feud with a Lightning Crew member, just PM Popick for permission, so that we don't have 2 or 3 people feuding with the same wrestler at once. Popick, please try not to leave The Lightning Crew by the wayside, try and keep them active if you can. We still got an angle to continue! I'll still be reading HeldDOWN~! and the pay-per-views to catch up. But, I won't be contributing again, until, either October or November. So, until then, Popick has control of The Lightning Crew. I will be back, because there will be some suprising things that will happen to Tha Puerto Rican when he gets out of jail. So, I'll see you all in a few months. Later. -"The Corporate Champion" Tha Puerto Rican a.k.a. The #1 MST3K Mark
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 This isn't meant to be personal, but PRL, why do you rip off the Rock so much? The Rock is my all-time favorite wrestler, so I've taken some of his mannerisms and moves and included them into PRL's moveset due to that. It's also something I've taken from a EWR storyline I once did in which Tha Puerto Rican was trying to be like The Rock but only came across as a wannabe. I've acknowledged the obvious comparisons between PRL and The Rock once in a while in some segments I've done, and in those segments, Tha Puerto Rican has said he doesn't know who The Rock is, or why people think he's trying to be like The Rock or so he claims. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Good show tonight, but the matches could have been spread out a little more. It seemed like the first half of the show was promos and the second half was matches. That's because just about every match had to have a promo before it and every match had to have space between it and it's set up promo. Did that make sense? Oh yeah and I'm guilty of part of that myself. I just didn't realize so many would have set up segments. Where are Hoff and NY Untouchable? They usually provide the most detailed feedback. Hoff 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Hoff is tired from copious amounts of DDR, and slightly drunk. I skimmed the show, I liked it, I'll say more tomorrow. By the way, Chris Stevens, how did that come off? It was my plan since when I made him as a jobber. There's a backstory there I'll give in you all sometime. Hoff 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 All right: Overall, I loved the show. I was feelin' all the promos. I also liked that there was a "big match" halfway in (at the "9:00 hour"), and another at the ME slot. The opening segment with SJ and PRL was great. It was a cool way to get PRL involved in the title picture without crossing paths with the Thrillogy. I'd have never thought of the "Corporate Champion" thing, and I liked it a lot. The makeover was a nice touch. I look forward to PRL's eventual return. Dama vs. Smith from Mexico was cool, and had a gritty feel to it. I also like the upcoming match at GAB. It's different. The Rick Edwards segments were great. I'm REALLY curious as to what the book was. I also like the depth in Rick's character as a result of Leah's involvement. The Sadist was...interesting. I'm glad we've got a bigger tag scene, with four teams currently in the ME hunt, and more on the way. I like that AJ is reluctant to trust Sly. It wouldn't make sense to have them all peachy. The promo between the three faces was well done. Hoff/Cal vs. Sly/Crystal was good. I didn't see it until now, and I was really into it. More HEEL TACTICS~ at the end, and that's ALWAYS good. I continue to mark out like a twelve-year-old girl for the GPX. Edwards/Rodez was great. It was also good to see Rodez back, and the match was well done and made him look good in his return. Bryte's promo was good. I loved The Hand, and I laughed when he KILLED a man. But it was really well done with Tina coming out and PANTHER attacking Bryte amidst the chaos. I was thrilled to see Panther and hope it leads to his eminent return. The ME was good, and fun. I love the big happy endings, and Cole and Coach celebrating was great. So yeah, great show, some good build to GAB, and I look forward to next week.
