JasonX Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 <does happy dance> Can't wait Cool picture there of the guys from Firefly. Is that picture from the DVD set?
BlackFlagg Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Cool picture there of the guys from Firefly. Is that picture from the DVD set? nope, it's a picture from the movie shoot.
NoCalMike Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 I didn't see a release date though. Also, the extended version didn't have a 5.1 or DTS track....oh well I am still buying the damn thing. I think I have been waiting over 3 years from when this was originally rumored. Anyone have an ACCURATE break down of the difference between the three? I think I read one years ago, but not recently so I have forgotten.
Guest El Satanico Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 The release date is September 7th, which falls in line with the rumors of Fall 2004.

Guest El Satanico Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Now you've got it sorry about that.....I can't read. Oh it's no big deal
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 The cool thing is that I actually have a chance to be on this DVD as I have been on several mall tours that may be on the DVD......WHOOOO HOOOOOO.......
AndrewTS Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 I've actually shopped at the mall where they filmed Dawn... Although as one review site pointed out...there's something about watching it on DVD that doesn't feel right. It should be viewed on a crusty old rental tape covered in stickers, with the actual film print carefully aged like a fine wine. THAT'S the real Dawn of the Dead experience. Still, I'll probably have to check this out, since I don't actually own a copy of DawnotD.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 I've actually shopped at the mall where they filmed Dawn... I live 5 minutes from the mall..........
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Here is a link to the Dawn of the Dead DVD official site

NoCalMike Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 I own the old-school crusty vhs tape of the "directors cut" which is really just a us theatrical directors cut version.......I am not getting rid of it, because the graininess of the vhs tape FITS with the movie. I am still buying the 4-disc set though. Wow, 3 years of waiting, rumors, and anticipation, FINALLY~!
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 The mall in the movie is an actual mall in Pittsburgh. Which one? I live in the area...

dubq Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 bumping this because pictures from the set(package & menus) have been released, see them here: http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/dawn...ead/artwork.asp Hey, kewl, it comes with Issue #1 of the Steve Niles/IDW comic. I already have it, but that's cool of them to include it to give IDW and Niles some more exposure.
NoCalMike Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 So anyone find the breakdown of the differences between the 3 different versions yet?
Youth N Asia Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Looks pretty cool. I'll definatly be picking it up when it comes out
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 So anyone find the breakdown of the differences between the 3 different versions yet? Well, the "European Version" is Dario Argento's recut, released theatrically in Europe under the title Zombi (inspiring, of course, Fulci's unofficial "sequel" Zombi 2 AKA Zombie, which streets tomorrow on two special edition DVDs in its own right). I haven't seen it so I can't give any specific differences, but according to the IMDb, it's "more action-oriented" with "less funny scenes". The "extended version" or whatever the hell they're calling it (disc 2) is probably the longer cut Romero submitted to Cannes, which Anchor Bay released on a single disc DVD a few years back, I think. And then there's those fucking German DVDs...it's so damned confusing. I just want Argento's version.
