nope, it's a picture from the movie shoot.

I didn't see a release date though. Also, the extended version didn't have a 5.1 or DTS track....oh well I am still buying the damn thing. I think I have been waiting over 3 years from when this was originally rumored.

 

Anyone have an ACCURATE break down of the difference between the three? I think I read one years ago, but not recently so I have forgotten.

The cool thing is that I actually have a chance to be on this DVD as I have been on several mall tours that may be on the DVD......WHOOOO HOOOOOO.......

I've actually shopped at the mall where they filmed Dawn...

 

Although as one review site pointed out...there's something about watching it on DVD that doesn't feel right. It should be viewed on a crusty old rental tape covered in stickers, with the actual film print carefully aged like a fine wine. THAT'S the real Dawn of the Dead experience.

 

Still, I'll probably have to check this out, since I don't actually own a copy of DawnotD.

I own the old-school crusty vhs tape of the "directors cut" which is really just a us theatrical directors cut version.......I am not getting rid of it, because the graininess of the vhs tape FITS with the movie.

 

I am still buying the 4-disc set though.

Hey, kewl, it comes with Issue #1 of the Steve Niles/IDW comic. I already have it, but that's cool of them to include it to give IDW and Niles some more exposure.

Well, the "European Version" is Dario Argento's recut, released theatrically in Europe under the title Zombi (inspiring, of course, Fulci's unofficial "sequel" Zombi 2 AKA Zombie, which streets tomorrow on two special edition DVDs in its own right). I haven't seen it so I can't give any specific differences, but according to the IMDb, it's "more action-oriented" with "less funny scenes".

 

The "extended version" or whatever the hell they're calling it (disc 2) is probably the longer cut Romero submitted to Cannes, which Anchor Bay released on a single disc DVD a few years back, I think.

 

And then there's those fucking German DVDs...it's so damned confusing. I just want Argento's version.
