Identify horror films for my column

Recommended Posts

I really appreciate the help in the past and have some more brain ticklers. Again, the details are so sketchy, I can't put my finger on what they might be.

"Its some low-budget horror flick that I saw on HBO or Cinemax in the mid-90's. I have no idea what the plot is, but there is a scene where someone is hiding in a church, and a statue of Jesus comes to life, gets down off the cross and murders the person. Its possible this is a sequel to another movie. Thats the only scene I remember, probably because at the time I considered it to be the most blasphemous thing I'd ever seen. My views have changed considerably in the years since, so I'd like to check it out again."

"There was a movie i seen a few times when i was pretty young, probably the late eighties or very early nineties, about 2 or maybe 3 young kids that just went around killing people. I cant remember the reason they done this or if they were related but in one scene i think they poisened one of their mothers and in another scene there was a guy working under his truck, that was jacked up, and they came along and dropped the truck on his head (which i found pretty entertaining at the time). I was just wondering if you knew the name of this film or if you could use your vast resources to track the name down."

-That sounds like one of the Children of the Corn movies to me or maybe even the Children of the Damned remake.

I think the second one may be Bloody Birthday, where two guys and a girl born during a lunar eclipse turn evil and start killing people.

You might want to try e-mailing the guy from TheVideoGraveyard.com.

The first makes me think of Exorcist III, but it's nothing more than a vague kind of deja vu, so it's probably wrong. I would guess you're probably familiar with that anyway.
