Why on earth would the WWE turn Undertaker heel?

I'm hearing this now and I don't get it.. what was the point of bringing back the old school gimmick then? He's like the most over guy and has basically done nothing. Plus you KNOW turning him tweener to feud with Eddie won't work, because he'll get all the cheers still.

I would honestly rather see Eddy/Booker but Eddy/Taker at Summerslam would sure beat more Eddy/Bradshaw.

The real reason for turning heel would be that Eddie needs someone to fued with that can actually match up to his standards. Enough of this Bradshaw crap, Smackdown needs a new fresh fued.

I agree, it'll crush the hearts of a lot of fans, but SmackDown! are in desperate need of uppercard heels right now, and he could do it tremendously.

 

I haven't read the taping results yet, but presumed that he would overcome Paul Heyman and the Dudleyz.

 

And it's not the 'Old School' 'Taker gimmick - it's the American Deadman.

I can't see 'Taker jobbing to him either unless WWE want to run his gimmick into the ground even more.

 

We're stuck with the American Deadman, so if he's got one last title run in him, fine by me.

Actually I don't know that. That's the only money match the WWE has for Smackdown right now and - given the talent involved - it can easily work.

 

The champion that will never quit vs. the challenger that can never sell. Imagine the kind of rub Eddie would get from a win over Taker or even a multi-month feud.

It just seems that a lot of the time the WWE has a mentality that to take a wrestler that's very over, and then turn them, will make them MORE over (but in the opposite way). For example, if the fans are really behind a face, and then that face turns heel, then they will be hated more than they were liked. (and vice versa)

 

This works sometimes, but not all the time, and I truly think that this is one of the times that it won't work.

Because they feel that they have to latch on to every halfassed pointless thing they can come up with because "creative" is extremely lazy......and desperate times call for desperate measures.

And don't forget the fact that SD has 2 guys (RVD/Book) they could use as main eventers but would rather have them stuck chasing a secondary title.

When was the last time an Undertaker heel turn actually worked? I can remember the one where he was feuding with RVD and all, but that didn't work for too long I thought.

Eddie vs. Taker is the only match that the fans will care about, and the only one that the WWE is willing to give us, until Cena is main eventing. For some reason they just dont want to you Booker or RVD for anything else other then the mid card...I mean c'mon they were traded to Smackdown, and logic says right away one or both of them would be chashing the world title in no time, but instead Bradshaw gets the push.

Undertaker's 2001-2002 heel run bombed because he kept the same moveset and entrance as when he was a face. Hard to boo a guy who comes out on a motorcycle to "Rollin'."

I think at this point Taker is like Austin, Hogan, and Flair--faces for life. People just have too many good memories associated with them, so they can't get behind booing them.

 

If Eddie gets into a program with him, I fear for his push. The fan reaction, added to Taker's tendency to squash tag teams and "not feel it" will do Eddie's face run serious damage.
