ragingfear79 Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 it sounds like he has a lisp, for some reason I kinda dig Mordecai.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I think he hissed out the "s", which makes it sound like a "th". I'll have to re-watch that though.
haVoc Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Bradshaw's promo was longer then all the matches put together tonight.
DangerousDamon Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 When Luther Reigns smiles, he looks sort of like..............................Nathan Jones.
Exslade ZX Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 you all just mentioned Mordecai. Â But he's the one who sounded like he has a lisp. how do you lisp "this"? PLus he said it high pitched lol..
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Wow...a Hoss that didn't finish with a Sitout Powerbomb.
Guest JMA Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 This Luther Reigns is okay. He's certainly better than the other OVW hosses (sans Lesnar).
Rob E Dangerously Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 This is my first time seeing JBL live.. and he could use some work at being a heel patriot.  For one, he should call the people 'traitors' and 'UnAmerican' for booing him.  Example: "You scum are booing me, America's greatest patriot, and you are aiding and comforting our enemies by doing so"  He should refer to the media in unflattering terms  Example: "Our leftist media, from Tom Brokaw to Michael Cole, are all under the direct order of the Soviet threat which is in hiding, and they all wish to villify me. You should love me unless you are brainwashed."  He should also call people Communists  Example: "Eddy Guerrero, you little pinko.."  and he should get into a feud with Chilly Willy.  Example: "Chilly Willy, you're an example of what's wrong with America. Real soldiers don't get Purple hearts. They kick ass. You FAILED. You helped to create good news for our Leftist media and our enemies. I wish I could take that Purple Heart and shove it down your throat."  JBL would get some more cheap heat (or real heat) then
Placebo Effect Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 This Luther Reigns is okay. He's certainly better than the other OVW hosses (sans Lesnar). He does have like 8 years of experience or something, so the fucker better not still be green as grass.
Highland Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Ok no seriously...it wasn't a bad promo, just the fact that 'it's Bradshaw' like you said. Hell...his promos are never even really promos, they're shoots, because he reads, and knows that people realizes that he sucks and he feels insulted. Yea, it was a decent serious promo..but fact is it was a promo insulting America and more about him filling his own ego..didn't even really have anything to do with Eddie until the end. Sure you could say it was to gain heel heat...but as you could tell from reaction, didn't do much..and they only booed at the times he would say shut up. Can't really have a promo where the only way you get the crowd to react is by telling them not to. And eventually he will probaly end up with huge Xpac heat..and nothing more. And as has been said, it's fairly repetitive. Â Exactly. It sucks becuse it's Bradshaw saying it, not because it's a "bad promo" Aren't shoots supposed to be the most effective promos? I'm no fan of Bradshaw, but at least I can say I liked his little shoot/promo even if I felt it went on a tad too long. Also, it wasn't just about Eddy, it was about JBL and his frustration with the "liberal world" Â He's getting the strap and later, maybe at SS, Eddy will win it back. It's a tried and tested formula that works.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Sounded like Cole said, "Jackie got knocked up the apron."
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Welcome to WWE where we'll murder Paul Bearer if Taker doesn't win his match!
Anakin Flair Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Yay, I got the official thread. This Smackdown has been ok, then Torrie shows up. Â Edited for my stupidity. It's been a long day...
Exslade ZX Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Heh...I like how this time Fifi doesn't even look like the same type of dog lmao.
Placebo Effect Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Why they hell did I waste my time watching this show? This is my first time watching a full Smackdown in six months, and I can see why. Terrible.
haVoc Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Hey, RVD did something different. A sun set flip into the ring.
Rob E Dangerously Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I added more about JBL on the Fantasy Booking board. Â here
Anakin Flair Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 At least Taker's tan is finally fading.
haVoc Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Alright, the suck fest is over. I'm heading down to the bar for the $1 Bud specials tonight. Â Peace.
Spaceman Spiff Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Anyone else get the impression that Classic's moonsault (and other offense) was a big "fuck you" to WWE management, after their "humorous ideas" for him? Â Also, Doug Basham showed some decent mic work. Â Overall, compared to past SDs post-redraft, this one wasn't that bad. Not a great show by any stretch, but better than it's been lately.
Guest JMA Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Speaking of the Bashams, did anyone else hear the audible "You suck!" from the crowd? I believe Danny was even distracted by it (he turned his head toward the jeer).
Masked Man of Mystery Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I think RVD looked more intense tonight than I've seen him in a while, and well, I think since we are acting as if Taker is under the power of Heyman because of the urn, he should be keeping that zombified look on his face he's been using since he came back as the deadman, rather than the very angry(as well as wet) look on his face. I mean, I hope he isn't sweating that badly from squahsing a couple of guys
Guest wrestlingbs Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I turned to SD for 5 seconds, barely seeing Paul Heyman on screen. It reminds me why I don't watch SD: Heyman's one of the best promo guys there, and he's doing crap feuds with Taker rather than being GM and having a solid presence on the show. Instead we've got Bond villian Kurt and his man-servant Luther sitting in the Background. Shame, really. Â Ha! I guess Vince didn't have any sense and didn't cut the JBL promo. But I'm sure those Multi-billion dollar CNBC execs would feel a small, vague sense of pity for Bradshaw if any of them watched or cared about wrestling, much less Smackdown.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 By the way, I think it says somethng when Paul Heyman is cutting promos for this angle and the whole "he has the urn" thing look utterly retarded. Also, this whole thing with the urn is a total change anyways. Okay, Paul ahd the urn. Kurt Angle didn't go find the urn when he had to fight BikerTaker so that he would give in. It might've worked before BikerTaker but now it just seems very, very silly. Even then, this isn't the 80s and really cartoony gimmicks are very hard to make work. Mankind worked because Mick Foley was able to act like an extremely disturbed person and they were smart enough to work in bits of his rela life into the gimmick, and well, Paul looks very stupid holding out the urn and even with the hair dye and makeup, he still looks like BikerTaker and Biker Taker NEVER did the "reciting poetry" position.
Enigma Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 This was the first time I watched Smackdown all the way through in about two months. I haven't missed much.
