Jimmy Snuka Jr. and Mark Magnus are slated to be debuting on the main roster shortly doing what was described to me as an "Arabic" gimmick. I believe they will be getting new ring names as well, obviously. They are doing a dry run of the gimmick in Ohio Valley Wrestling right now.

 

Mike Bucci, who wrestles as Nova, was moved up to the role of Assistant booker in Ohio Valley Wrestling last week, as Jim Cornette made the announcement to all the workers. The plan is for Bucci to work under Cornette as a way to learn more about the creative process of the company, possibly as a way to groom him for the WWE creative team down the line. I do know that the company is talking about hiring more writers for TV, although I haven't confirmed any names. Bucci will be handling the house shows and working under Cornette for TV.

 

This following is classified as a rumor, but there was talk going around that Alexis Laree may be brought up to the Raw roster soon under the name "Tina." I haven't heard anything concrete to confirm it, but there has been talk about it over the last few days, so it's a possibility.

I thought this was going to be about Nova/Idol getting called up, which I would have been all for. Magnus and Snuka? Eh, I don't know about that. Haven't seen any OVW stuff past April yet, so I haven't been able to see them trying this out.

I was expecting an Arabic gimmick two years ago... You just knew Vince wouldn't be able to miss another opportunity for cheap stereotypes and insults. I just didn't expect the Arabs to be played by a Samoan and a white guy (Magnus is white, right?)

 

Alexis winning the Diva Search would make it all worth while. Makes a fuckload more sense than actually giving some chick a quarter of a million dollars for sending in a softcore porn photo of herself... Of course, the idea is not to find a female wrestler. Also, while Alexis is cute, they'd probably have difficulty in making people believe that the fans voted her to be the hottest entrant. Although, if she were to win it, she could be a valet that takes crazy bumps, ala her stint in the Gathering.
