KingPK 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 (edited) Youklis has 4 RBI on the night now. I think he should stay but if the Sox want to trade him for Garcia, might as well strike while the iron is hot. Maybe Seattle will fall for it like the Sox did last year with Suppan (although I think Youklis has much more upside than Suppan did.) EDIT: I think we're done for the night. If it is still pouring after the 30 minues the ump must wait, this game is over. Edited June 26, 2004 by Kingpk
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Anyone know of a good theme song I can play on my computer when Paul Quantrill comes into the game? Mo obviously has Enter Sandman, and Flash Gordon has the Flash Gordon theme song, but PQ needs something.
Bored 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 God Barry Zito is just a sack of shit now. Spots the Giants five runs in the first including a three-run homer to Deivi Cruz for crying out loud. With Schmidt on the mound he's already pretty much given the game away.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 26, 2004 That makes me happy for reasons I don't quite understand. Possibly because Zito stole my hairdo and made me cut it.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Cubs broadcasting > White Sox broadcasting. Ron Santo is the Harry Caray for the new generation. I never get to hear Santo, but there's no way he could possibly be worse than those guys. Ronnie is priceless. He's talking about Father's Day but then he goes and pronounces it wrong like he was torn between "Dad's" and "Father's" and went with the wrong A sound. He corrects himself awkwardly and goes on: "...I mean's FAH-ther's Day. It's interesting, the way Father's Day works. The thing is, you always hear about Mother's Day. Two months in advance and everyone's talking about Mother's Day! It's such a big thing. But then you get to June and it's Father's Day and nobody knows about it until it's--" Pat Hughes cuts in "Count is two and one" "--about it until it's too late! So I always try to drop some hints beforehand to make sure I get what I want, which is usually a tie or maybe--" "two and two, the count on Ramirez" "--a tie, or maybe a grill or stuff for the grill. The point I'm trying to make is this: both days are equally important for a family. I know my kids think so, which I apprec-" "that one goes to the right and it's an easy play to end the inning." "Which I appreciate, and now let's pause for station identification." The next rant was so indecipherable I'm not even going to try to transcribe it because I had no clue what the man was talking about. reading that makes me appreciate Marty and Joe even more. Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Anyone want to explain why the Dodgers put Robin Ventura on the mound against the Angels last night? I mean, were they taking the piss?
the max 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 They (Dodgers) got shelled last night, didn't they? Sometimes, they'll put in a position player to pitch to save arms in their bullpen.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 What Max Power said. And given Ventura's performance, they might as well let him keep pitching.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Three straight batters reach, pitcher can't get an out, Polanco up, and big hitters afterwards. What do you do? Sacrifice bunt! Grrr.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 And ultimately that bitching means nothing, as Thome homers. But the Sox still haven't recorded an out otherwise.

It's mentioning that the bleacher bums at Yankee Stadium frown on assholes who go to a game and then do everything on earth but watch it.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 If you look at those numbers, the only time where a sac bunt is a good move is runners on first and second with no outs. A similar chart indicates a net loss. So there's debate. In any case, the chart posted here indicated the run expectancy increased by 0.09. Now if you look at those numbers, it is a good move, if the sacrifice bunt is executed perfectly every time. However, its not. A pop up, fielder's choice, or even a double play could occur. And the possibility of those events outweigh any minimal increase in run expectancies.
