Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Reports are coming in from Al-Jazeera that rogue Iraqis have beheaded another American POW, a full 10-12 hours prior to the deadline they set. Cpl. Wassouf Hassoun apparently was beheaded, according to al-Jazeera networks and reported upon by WCVB-ABC, WHDH-NBC, and CBS4 here in Boston. What. The. Fuck.

It was probably in repsonse to the U.S. officially handing over governmental control to the Iraqi ruling council. I'm usually an advocate for more peaceful solutions, but I don't think we have any choice except to wipe them out. This seems to be a them-or-us situation, unfortunately.
Dr. Tom Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 "What the fuck" is that we're dealing with conscienceless savages who should be executed and have their entire support networks burned to the ground.
Guest MikeSC Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 "What the fuck" is that we're dealing with conscienceless savages who should be executed and have their entire support networks burned to the ground. I wonder how we'll be blamed for this... -=Mike

This is supposed to be a democracy, right? What kind of Democracy does the United States think they're trying to run without allowing the terr-freedom fighters THEIR fair voice in government. Bunch of hypocrites. There, that wasn't hard.
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Hell, I'm a registered Democrat, and this shit drives me up a wall. Time to fight fire with some fucking big time ass fire. Little tamer than Marney, but still.
Styles Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Hell, I'm a registered Democrat, and this shit drives me up a wall. What exactly are you trying to say here?
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 As in: I don't go along with party lines in the fact that the United States has put itself into this position, and therefore we should expect these things to happen. Granted, I don't think there was a truly legitimate reason to going to war in the first place, but people that try to make this out to be the key reason to withdraw now, yada yada yada...is bullshit. I've posted my thoughts before as to what has happened in the Middle East when it comes to beliefs, and how the human psyche requires someone to believe in something. It STILL, though, doesn't explain or provide a reasoning towards beheading someone. The sad reality: we're at war with a group of people that will not show themselves until it is absolutely opportune to do so. It's why it's so difficult. Plus, on some of everyone's favorite Talk Radio superstars, I noticed that they all were saying that Democrats were cheering these beheadings, because it'll help them retake the White House. Kinda irratating.
Vyce Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 As in: I don't go along with party lines in the fact that the United States has put itself into this position, and therefore we should expect these things to happen. I don't believe you're really a Democrat. Because a Democrat would never admit that that was, in fact, the party line.
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Try this one on for size: I've voted for Ted and John as my Senators. Then again, I voted Romney for governor...
Guest Anglesault Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 What. The. Fuck. What, are you surprised that such fine and morally upstanding people would do such a thing? Would it have been better if they waited until their "deadline"? Little tamer than Marney, but still. Marney's plan appeals to the crazy in me. I like it the way she laid it out.

That's an insult to Muslims you know -- saying your going to have one event, then you don't. Haven't heard from Uncle Ted and the re-opening of the Iraq torture chambers under new management in a while...

Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Man, if I can refind the link to a collection of editorials printed by the local Dems...one of 'em just keeps going on and on that we went to war, this is something we should expect...damn it gets bad. Anyways...do I believe that shit? Nope. Where's big Ole Uncle Ted...I need someone to agree with me.
Guest thebigjig Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Something we could expect? NO SHIT!! Something they DESERVE?! Please link me to a mainstream bloodthirsty Democrat that thinks the soldiers deserve what they're getting... and please, no insane ultra left wing liberals... which would be the equivalent of me using Jerry Fallwell as a source to bash the right as a whole

Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I'd pull up a recent article in the Cape Cod Times (a Republican rag if there ever were one) but it'd cost me $18.95 for a monthly subscription to their archives. Written by Max Chalfin, one of the more prominent local liberals, who said we are earning our problems overseas by being the aggressors in Iraq. As for me: The United States should have expected for some of these things to happen. Do we deserve it? Have we earned it through our actions? No. I never said that in this thread. I said that it should be expected, not that it's deserved. If I were unclear, that's piss poor typing and rational thinking on my part.

I'm sure there are alot of Republicans that feel murdered abortion doctors get what they deserved, but I wouldn't be so fucking bold as to say that it's a core Republican party line belief

I however, do not rank him as an official ranking Democratic leader... nor do I regard him as an expert on anything. I specifically said that I wanted a good source, not a Jerry Fallwell like lunatic

kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 And I just got a flashback of that Rage Against My Ween video Mikey directed bashing Bush and Gore, and in the end there's a picture of ol' Ralph. Heh. Mikey is a sellout...

However, I know a few Democrats / liberals in my personal life who do have that attitude. One of them, in fact, made a remark to that effect the day after 9/11. I'm not saying it's the party line, but there ARE some who feel that way. And there's no limit to the amount of scorn I feel for them.
Guest INXS Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Um Moore isn't even a democrat...I thought he was backing Nader?
Guest MikeSC Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Um Moore isn't even a democrat...I thought he was backing Nader? He's rabidly anti-Bush. The head of the DNC loves the guy. He endorsed a candidate in the Democratic primaries. Doesn't add up to him not being a member of the Democratic party. -=Mike
Guest INXS Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I'm pretty sure he's stated that he's not a Democrat..I think he swings to them when need be...
Guest MikeSC Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I'm pretty sure he's stated that he's not a Democrat..I think he swings to them when need be... Bill O'Reilly says he's independent. Do you buy that? -=Mike
Guest INXS Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Heh...good one! I think he's independent...if a Democrat leader was President I think that Moore would be just the same (if they had done exactly what Bush has)

Because I take Moore's claim as seriously as O'Reilly's. -=Mike ...Hell, Moore is likely a Socialist...
