landy1987 Posted June 30, 2004 Report Posted June 30, 2004 The 6/28 edition of WWE RAW drew a 3.7 cable rating with a 5.9 share. The first hour scored a 3.4 while the second hour scored a 3.9. This rating is a big drop from last week's strong 4.2 rating. The 6/26 edition of WWE Velocity drew a 0.5 cable rating with a 1.1 share. The 6/27 edition of the WWE Experience drew a 0.6 cable rating with a 1.9 share. The 6/27 edition of WWE Sunday Night Heat, prior to the Great American Bash on PPV, drew a 0.7 cable rating with a 1.3 share.

Everybody figured Rock was going to play a role in the main event and hung around last time. Which goes to show, I guess, that Rock draws best when put in as soon to the start of the show as possible.

It's not as if they went out of their way to tell the fans about it the week before. All we got was HHH at the end of the Raw. Than the surprises of all surprises we get HHH all over the Raw preview with NO mention of Benoit vs Kane at all.

But when you're above 3 or 4 points anyway, how would you look at that .5 drop? Doesn't there have to be some leeway when looking at the ratings when you're up there in points? That's why I never understood why marks gave a shit about the goddamn ratings any-fucking-way. They haven't meant shit since the Monday Night Wars and that was just to see which show more people watched that week. Back in the day when people like Ric Flair were putting on fucking classic matches, we didn't watch and wonder what the ratings were. We just wanted to see good wrestling. Have times really changed that much? They haven't to me. Fuck the ratings. If the show is still on the air, great. If it's not, that sucks. It doesn't matter to me, as a fan of wrestling how many other people are watching or how much a wrestler gets paid because the gate was bigger.
