Guest JebusNassedar Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 I didnt see this here, so I figured I'd post it. GWAR signs with DRT Records Posted by BuzzBomb June 29, 2004 04:56 EST FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE THE LEGENDARY GWAR SIGNS TO DRT RECORDS First New Album Of New Material in 3 Years In-Stores October 2004 New York, NY - Legendary heavy metal band GWAR are again rising up from the depths of hell to release their new album, as yet untitled, on DRT Records (Flash site) this fall. The band's first studio release in three years, GWAR will head into the studio this summer to record with producer Glen Robinson (America Must Be Destroyed) in Richmond, VA (home of Slave Pit Inc.) and will mix at the Chop Shop in NYC. DRT will also be re-releasing GWAR's debut album Hell-O and the classic follow-up Scumdogs of the Universe as a specially packaged double CD on August 3. Before, most notably, Slipknot and Insane Clown Posse made putting on masks and playing loud music cool, there was GWAR. Formed millions of years ago and banished to planet Earth the band has helped shape today's metal world. Following in the theatrical footsteps of KISS and Alice Cooper, GWAR kicked it up a notch by combining great music and a dramatic and humorous stage show that continues to push the boundaries of good taste. GWAR is the real deal. The band's world tour begins in October upon the album's release. Let's hope the world is ready. Source: http://www.gwar.net/index.php I think a good ol' fashioned "vwoot" applies.

Addy Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Holy shit a world tour! If they come to the UK, I will bleed from the anus!
Placebo Effect Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 DRT has a pretty smart business plan. They sign up popular acts that were dropped/left record companies, and make some pretty good money off of them. They've got GWAR, Edwin McCain, Lit, Josh Todd (from Buckcherry), Clutch, and Seven Mary Three
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 They should tour with Clutch. I'd go to that show twice, at least.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 I love GWAR, this is excellent news.
Steviekick Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 My friend saw them recently. She was very proud that she was covered with fake blood and piss from them.
Placebo Effect Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 They should tour with Clutch. I'd go to that show twice, at least. I'm going to hopefully go see Clutch do a two-hour set in September. Hopefully being the keyword.
CheesalaIsGood Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Before, most notably, Slipknot and Insane Clown Posse made putting on masks and playing loud music cool, there was GWAR. Since when do the ICP wear masks? I hope GWAR finally eats my car. It's an Audi. It deserves it.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 Fucking hell, GWAR? Now there's a blast from the past, I might have to dig up my old copy of "Scumdogs of the Universe" .
