Anyone up for Fantasy Football?

Recommended Posts

*shrugs* Call me greedy. That and I have a hunch. I wanna see if it works. Besides, I didn't do that badly on the trade really. I got a full time TE (which was better than Cooley) and the highest fantasy point getter that isn't McNabb. How can I say no to the trade? It helped me out in the long run.

Besides, I've got 3 starting RBs (unless Onterio Smith gets really hot here quickly, Bennett will get his job back), I've got 3 dependable QBs now that I can offer up for trade on what I need later. And because of who I have for WRs, I don't need to worry about rotating them in or out.

Edit: BTW Raz, pissed that I basically tossed in the towel on week 3 with this trade (since neither Martin nor Bennett will be playing and I'm not dropping someone to get another RB)?

Trade between Crimson Storm and Serenity has been approved for week 3 usage:

To Serenity - Chris Cooley (RB/TE) and Ahman Green (RB)

To Crimson Storm - Vinny Testaverde (QB), L.J. Smith (TE), and Curtis Martin (RB)

Please discuss your thoughts on this huge trade and the implications it has on the league. Like if you think that I'm an idiot or what have you.

I love this trade for you. Vinny will continue to put up 30-40 pass attempts a game and he has a DAMN good WR trio with Antonio Bryant, Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson who can all score and get the first downs. LJ Smith is quickly turning into the #1 TE option in Philly and will receive a few looks from McNabb compared to Cooley. Curtis Martin also faces Miami in weeks 4 and 8 as well as San Francisco in week 5 so he has a good schedule ahead. NE in week 7 will be hard but they've proven that they can get run over. Granted, AG is a fab. runner but CuMart is almost on par with him and the other positions look like favorable upgrades.

If you think Vinny will throw some TDs to Keyshaun then you are dreaming because Johnson may get the big numbers in yards but he never catches the TD. Johnson is a glorified possession receiver.

Johnson's put up 8 TD seasons 3 times in his career as well as a 10 TD season. He also caught 5 TDs in 2002(when he broke 1,000+ yards). So to say that he never catches a TD is a little poor. Does he get a lot of receptions? Hell yeah. Is he capable of hitting 1,000+ yards? Of course. Is he capable of putting up the staggering 14-15 TDs that others put up? No but he can give a team 5-7 TD catches. Don't forget the Cowboys also have Antonio Bryant, Terry Glenn and TE Jason Witten as TD threats so either way Vinny will be producing this season.

Would some people look at their trade offers in TSM Keeper League? I've made some trade offers. Counter, decline or accept.

Edit:

Aw... I reached my maximum... :(

Everyone should love this.

So I traded away Plummer for Lelie, right? I thought I might as well since I've got Ol'Man and Harrington to fill in QB and Morton isn't going to be a full option for the year.

Guess who BOTH had week four byes.

God fucking dammit... I have to pick up and play Brees.

v_v; I'm out to kill my team now.

He is desperate to make his above average team suck.....the stress of winning was too much for him.

Also in the spirit of fairness I am suggesting that Agent should make some line up changes since the Panthers are on a BYE week.

Anybody interested in Plexiglass Burress or the Toomer? Hey MiB I sent you a trade proposal.

Flik, your trades...what the hell's the point?

:) Well the first one had two points to it. The first trade got me a TE that actually seems to be a full-fledge part of the offense, I got another QB (I'll get to that in a bit) and I got the second highest fantasy point getter (Curtis Martin is only second to McNabb). I expect Martin to produce as well as Green in many respects, but I really didn't lose out on that trade. It was 3 for 1 really, and I'd be insane not to take that deal (Cooley got lucky he even made any points really).

I had to trade away one of my QBs and help out my WR core as they aren't bad, yet I need to improve them because really after Keyshawn and Rod, I'm quite bare. To accomplish this, I traded away Plummer (Harrington is a keeper) but didn't realize that both Ol'Man and Harrington had byes the same week. I didn't really want to drop Morton as I'm not too confident in Caldwell (but hey, he's been doing good so far). Is Lelie a true improvement? I don't know, but I think he's better than anything I could've gotten off of waivers at this point and give up way more than I have to do so.

Personally, I think I have overall, improved my team in the areas of concern that I needed to address. That was the point of those trades. Plummer's team is more of a run team whereas both Harrington and Testaverde will air the ball out more than Plummer will.

Was it worth it? I don't know. I'll find out in 3 weeks whether I sunk myself to mediocricy.

He is desperate to make his above average team suck.....the stress of winning was too much for him.

Hey Raza. Why don't you shut up about my team in TSM Keeper League before I do 1 of 3 options:

1) Your team will be benched for a week.

2) I replace all your talent with hacks.

3) You will be banned.

Joke ended.

The stress of winning shall continue once more next week (week 4) for now, I'll just be content that my team plays well against you and I get a good gauge of who can do what so I can make the proper adjustments.

Besides if anyone can sink a team easily, it's me. :D Did that with my TSM Keeper League MLB as everyone saw.

I'd worry about my own team before talking to me about making my team above average. I'm not the team that's sitting at 4th place with the 3rd best points made buddy.

Abuse of Power!

Now since my Lone Stars are currently questionable in regards to my running back situation I had to tweek my lineup so I went and picked up some Cowboys, both Terry Glenn and Eddie George were steals, along with Tim Carter who will become the go to guy in the future. Now I am puzzled as what to do with Priest Holmes should I risk starting him even though that he might not play or should I just put in a sleeper and pray that I get some points from my recent FA pickups........or will it be a nightmare like last week with F'N David Terrell bringing the negative points. When the hell is Lee Suggs going to play?

So my matchups for week 3 are as follows:

Lone Stars vs Agent Bond in the COSG

BOLD PREDICTION Me

Injuried Proned vs Crimsom Storm in Yahoo Keeper

BOLD PREDICTION Me again

Small Market vs Harley in the Meat Market Madness

BOLD PREDICTION Me 3 times but close by a few points

I think you'll win unless Brooks/Horn explode(very possible against a poor Run D and depleted Rams secondary), KJ finally goes for 100+ with 1 TD and Clayton goes for 110+ and 2 scores. I'm looking at it as either A)You'll blow me out or B)It'll come down to the wire and largely depend on how our K/DEF's do.

I expect the Cowboys will get 4 turnovers and run them back for TDs on the defensive side. I am only worried about Marshall, Marshall, Marshall as I am seriously thinking of starting Eddie George for him this week.

You abuse what power? I don't know frankly.

1) Lone Stars vs. Agent Bond - Hopefully you pick up win number two here. Since you are 1-1.

2) I've only got Quentin Griffin playing at RB. Unless your RBs give you less than 10, you've got it made (or if Vinny somehow becomes Ol'Man known as God of Passing, and throws 400 yards and hits 3 TDs with no picks or sacks, but that's insanity). I expect to show up and produce in week 5 when most of my team doesn't have byes. :D

3) HarleyQuinn and you will go down to the wire, but I think it could go either way, depending on how Brooks and Horn playout.

My own teams:

1) TSM Keeper League - Crimson Storm (1-1) vs. Injuried Prone V1 (1-1):

~ Mentioned above in 2.

2) Meat Madness League - Crimson Storm (1-1) vs. DA's Squad (0-2):

~ Currently 1-1 and I dropped Trent Green for more or less, Vinny as my starter. Yeah, I'm banking a lot on Ol'Man. But with the rest of my team putting up the greatness, I think I can afford to make the banking here. Should pick up the win here.

3) WDI League - XP Syndrome (1-1) vs. Da Ninja Dawgz (1-1):

~ Ugh... This team is so shitty it isn't funny. Hopefully Brooks and his company on my team can win me this game. It'll be a close one with me edging out.

4) COSG League - Crimson Storm (2-0) vs. HHH (2-0):

~ The most powerfully team in the COSG League is HHH. Hopefully my team comes out to play as I'm in tough here. It's an uphill battle for me and with all the boasting I've done in our league's forum, I hope it wasn't wasted words.

Suprisingly, I'm the 4th ranked team in terms of points scored (171.6). Of the top 3 teams in terms of scoring, HHH is 2-0 (235.9), Pawtucket Patriots are 1-1 (195.6) and Lone Stars is 1-1 (177.1).

Overally, I think I'm going 2-2 this week. With my two wins coming off of Meat Madness and WDI. If I somehow manage to pull off a win against HHH, I'll be happy. If I manage to somehow beat Injuried Prone V1, I'll thank God and have a true team ready to play against everyone after this week.

It's all good.

Better to get the bye week out of the way now.

I probably took a huge loss in that league, too.

and what a last-minute FA pickup for me in the Yahoo league... I drop Chris Perry in favor of Brandon Stokley and Stokley pulls in 8 catches for 108 yards and 2 TDs.

WEE! I won in both my leagues, including a League High 136.60 point performance over in the Meat Market League, beating Cheapskates who had Peyton Manning but not anyone else, which I thought for sure would be enough to beat me. That league was the auction league and if things keep up, it looks pretty strong despite the 0-2 start, so Im now a big proponent of Auction leagues...

M. Hasselbeck 20.60

P. Price 2.50

D. Jackson 9.70

R. Wayne 24.40

J. Lewis 29.20

C. Brown 19.10

R. McMichael 5.10

M. Vanderjagt 10.00

Baltimore 16.00

Plus for next weeks byes I have Warner and Lelie.

The Keeper League is a different story. Even though I won rather convincingly, my roster is full of holes. Specifically, a lack of a #2 RB and any other depth at RB. I dumped Wheatley this week and he goes off for 100 yards..bleh...About the only bright spot in that league for me is that Issac Bruce is having a good year so far, I remember everyone saying he was washed up and old when I drafted him.

Next weeks goal is to get both teams back to .500 with Kurt Warner at QB replacing Hasselbeck who is on a bye week...hopefully he can do as well vs GB as Manning did although I doubt it..

My auction league ain't looking to hot, Peyton Manning putting up over half of my points, no one else even reaching double figures as i get hammered. My only team that didn't suck put up 126 points, but typically my opponent puts up 130 with Javon Walker going insane today, and unfortunately the COSG league doesn't put it's scores up until after all games are played, and i'm far to lazy to calculate things myself so who knows how i went there. And i may as well write of my keeper team right now, it's a disaster.

At least next week should be better, the first week most of my teams lost, the second week they all won, so if they keep alternating next week'll be a good one.

Unless the Cowboys get a shutout on MNF, I shall go 3-0 in league play. Anybody want to trade William Green for a QB in the Yahoo Keeper league? I need a backup for Gannon.

*sighs* I think I went 0-4 this week.

I severely need my brain checked on who needs to be put into my lineups... I just got burned by making some boneheaded roster mistakes...

And I'm not speaking of trades or shit, I just played the wrong people in two of my leagues.
