Ted the Poster Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 From Cinescape: Yesterday an interesting scoop rolled into our inbox: according to the Global Episode Opinion Survey website, BUFFY and ANGEL star James Marsters, better known as Spike, made the claim on an Australian TV show called Rove Live that there are plans for four BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER made-for-television movies. Furthermore, the report states that series creator Joss Whedon approached Marsters to star in "at least one" of the proposed four TV movies, and that "either all four would be made or none at all." This is the first we've heard of any news about Buffyverse TV movies since last spring when The WB said they were open to the idea of having follow-up ANGEL TV movies after cancelling the spinoff series in its fifth season. We did some checking to see if some of the details in the GEOS story panned out. Sure enough, the Rove Live website lists Marsters as a guest on the program on Tuesday, July 6. Suddenly there's a sense of legitimacy to the scoop.
Youth N Asia Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Read that earlier. Hope it happens... Buffy's gone Angel's gone don't have HBO no NHL next season and no Shield till 2005 ...tv sucks
Anya Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I don't really believe any of these reports. There's just too many going around that contradict each other. I badly want new Buffy though. I can't live with DVDs forever. I need new material, even if I hate it. I want SCOOBIES though. I don't want a movie about Connor or SIT school or something. Make a Buffy movie, like old times! Nick and Emma must be in it! If Spike is in one that means one of two things... 1. Angel, Spike, Gunn and Illyria didn't actually die. That's good news! 2. It's a prequel, which means Anya could be in it. That's even better!
Ravenbomb Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 yeah, cause Spike stayed gone for SOOOOOOOOO long when he died the first time
Guest wrestlingbs Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 It's almost impossible to "kill" somebody off on a Whedon show. Hell, Darla got stabbed into dust in Season 1 of buffy, only yo return in season 2 of Angel.
Mole Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I've gotten my hope up so many times, so I won't believe this until a better source reports it.
Hank Kingsley Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Eh. Like I've said, I'm happy with the way the shows ended, and I'm over it. Bring on "Serenity", the remaining DVD box sets, and I'm happy.
Anya Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I'm not going to be happy until Xander and Anya get married and live happily ever after. One of the 4 movies should be a wedding special!
2GOLD Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I'm not going to be happy until Xander and Anya get married and live happily ever after. One of the 4 movies should be a wedding special! Isn't Anya dead and Xander a pirate?
Anya Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Yeah but they could get back together in time for a wedding special. All it would take is some break up sex. It's weird how in All The Way they dress up as a pirate and an angel for halloween.......
spiny norman Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Damn, it's times like these I wish I watched Rove Live. I can tell you though: it is Australia's #1 variety talk show and James Marsters was scheduled to be on it the other night. So I would not immediately discount these rumours, I would think it is quite likely that they are truthful.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah but they could get back together in time for a wedding special. All it would take is some break up sex. It's weird how in All The Way they dress up as a pirate and an angel for halloween....... Well technically Anya was a Charlie's Angel though.
Anya Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah, but it's still interesting. None of those costumes compare to the bunny suit.
Guest Nanks Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I was watching Rove Live the other night, and this story is 100% true. James Marsters said Joss had called him to see if he'd be interested in being involved in 4 made-for-TV movies about individual Buffy/Angel characters. One of them is planned to be a Spike movie.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 How's about this...in one of the movies, Clem turns evil and stabs Xander to death. That way, they can get married in hell
Anya Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 How about not? Anya's not in hell and Xander won't be when he dies.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 ok, fine. Xander slips and falls to his death, they get married in the shrimp dimension (the minister can be a Leprechaun)
Anya Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 How about Anya crawls out of the crater and rejoins the group and they have break up sex and admit to each other that their love is eternal so they get back togther and get re-engaged. At the wedding Willow gives Xander a magic eye and then they get married and live happily ever.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 hey, and during the sex, Xander can fuck her in the giant gaping hole in her torso
Anya Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Giles: "Yes that's exactly the most appalling thing you could have said" Willow could heal the wound.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 nah, she'd be too busy stabbing Kennedy to death and getting back together with Tara, since the Buffyverse has now collided with the magical Girlfriends Coming Back From the Dead universe Giles: "Yes that's exactly the most appalling thing you could have said" Actually, I could've brought up how since the giant gaping hole in her torso was so big, they'd probably have to try fisting
Anya Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Screw Tara. She can stay dead. It's all about the Xander/Anya ship.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Screw Tara. Yeah, that's pretty much the point
Guest Brian Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Connor movie!!! Spike movie!!! Time to test the waters for syndication. I can't imagine doing a Buffy movie since the door seems to be closed on her story.
Ravenbomb Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 well, since SMG might not even be willing to do one, they might do one without Buffy in it.
Guest El Satanico Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Unless there's at least one prequel about Spike, Drusilla and Angelus, I could care less.
Guest combat_rock Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah, that's all well and good, but what are the chances that all the actors needed for these four movies actually come together to do it. About a snowball's chance in hell, that's what it is.
Guest Brian Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I'm guessing they're looking towards doing a Ripper, Spike, and Connor movie, and I know the former two are one board for that. If they've got Vincent Kartheiser, they can go in whatever direction they want with the Connor films and not need anyone.
Guest 11and0baby Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Yep I watched Rove and it is indeed true and if they happen then im thinking we will get. 1. A Spike Movie 2. A Ripper Movie 3. A Willow Movie 4. Possibly either Illyria or a Prequel to stuff thats happened involvign Spike/Angel/Dru/Darla. And James said something about waiting on a few people to come on board and Im guessing those few are Sarah Michelle and David Boreanz.
