SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 I might be able to go to the Warped Tour but i need help convincing my father that I can go.He was told by my uncle(Who is selling clothing at a booth on WarpedTour)that it was a very "rowdy" crowd. My father isn't a very unreasonable person and I just want to know how the tour has ACTUALLY been so far(From anyone here that has gone). Keep in mind that I am only 14 but I consider myself mature and I'm surely not stupid. Also, im not small, I'm 6'3" and about 180 so I don't think my size will be a problem at all. Anyone who can tell me anything will be appreciated.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 9, 2004 It's generic concert festival where everyone is emotional insecure and hates mommy and daddy but have no problems borrowing 50 bucks from them and think they live in poverty in their suburbuan homes. So it's not rowdy...the music is questionable but if your uncle thinks it's Rowdy...Your Uncle may want to attend the Sting/Annie Lennox concert because Warped is ANYTHING but "rowdy"
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2004 In all seriousness the people there are usually more well behaved and more polite then most concert goers I've delt with. "Punks" just aren't what they used to be. But like anywhere else you get a select group of assholes.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 10, 2004 That is true as well...Let the Posers have their moment to think as they hand over the 38 bucks to attend and the 6 dollars for Bottled Infected Water that they are sticking it to the man.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Well if you just you know...stay AWAY from the mosh pit then you will have absolutely no trouble in the crowd. I had no trouble at the Warped Tour in Dallas. I've been 2 years in a row and I haven't seen anyone cause trouble at any of them.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 10, 2004 I can't imagine how sad a Warped Tour Mosh would be...
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 I can't imagine how sad a Warped Tour Mosh would be... Not sad at all........jeez you're bitter about something, but you've always been that way so it's not like anyone listens..... "Hey look Choken hates something......there's a shock. Let's see what everyone else had to say."
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 I did get cracked in the head durring the Rancid set last year in their pit. But not bad enough for it to be a problem.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Uh. Just go anyway. What's the problem here?
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Why is your uncle selling clothes at the Warped Tour? Is he one of those really young, hip uncle's that I always hear about?
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Save your money, it's not worth going to. But if you really want to go, see if you can get a group of your friends who your parents like to go with you...that way they would be more comfortable.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Are you speaking from experience, Stevie? I think it's worth every penny to go.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Are you speaking from experience, Stevie? I think it's worth every penny to go. Yeah...went in 2000 and was bored out of my mind. Thank God Jurassic 5 was there, otherwise I would have gone nuts. That was the day that I realized how much I hate the current punk scene.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Well, 2003 was fun. And Andrew WK put on the coolest live show ever
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Andrew WK is amazing. I reccommend that every person see him at least once in their life.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Lucky enough I was at the Rancid set right before and rushed up for AWK when they finished. Waited 30 minutes for a 30 minute set...but it was worth it. If you like some of the bands then go. And the best part is discovering new bands. And picking up cds cheap. PLUS FREE YOOHOO! Last year there was a booth just giving the stuff away, and it was ice cold.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Free Cold Yoohoo? That makes up BIG TIME for the ticket price. Im there now.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 Oh yeah I loved it. I went two years in a row. Last year Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Andrew WK, Suicide Machines, and Less Than Jake were the bands I watched and they put on a HELL of a show. This year I watched The Casualties, Flogging Molly, Bowling for Soup, The Vandals, Bouncing Souls, and Bad Religion and it still kicked ass. You just have to go see the bands you like. If you don't like any of the bands on the bill then don't go.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2004 I was suprised last year how entertaining Bowling For Soup was. As well as a couple local bands, the Hot Flashez and The Fags. And I am looking forward to the Vandals this year.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Oh god....The Vandals. *girl flips off lead singer* "Hey honey I just saw what you did. And let me tell you that I have a girlfriend and I don't think I could leave her to do that with you. I love her very much and we've been through a lot together. So if you want me to leave her......you'd better have a nice ass! Turn around!"
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Free Cold Yoohoo? That makes up BIG TIME for the ticket price. Im there now. You know how much Yoo Hoo you could buy for the price of tix?
Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2004 Drinking huge amounts of a thick chocolate drink right before you go bounce around in a mosh pit in the blazing hot sun is a great idea. Yep.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Well...wasn't blazing hot last year, more like rainy and shitty
Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Well, here, there isn't a day between the months of May and September that isn't blazing hot. If they tried to give away free YooHoo here, nobody would drink it.
