WWE SmackDown!

2nd September 2004

Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz

As the show opened the camera cut to the parking lot to see John Bradshaw making his *triumphant* return to SmackDown. JBL looked refreshed and happy to be back.

--

Kidman & London vs Akio & Jamie Noble

Really good way to start the show. For those history-mongers out there Akio & Noble used to make up 2/3 of the Jung Dragons back in WCW, with Kaz Hayashi. They were a good threesome. Hee hee, I said threesome. Anyway the new champions looked good and seem to be developing into a really good team, even if there is still the odd awkward tag. After Akio was knocked out with the Kid Krusher London headed up top and hit Noble with a picture-perfect 450 splash, followed by Kidman hitting his patented (but damn sure not picture-perfect) Shooting Star Press.

Winners: Kidman & London

--

After seeing the new champions in action Funaki interviewed the former champs The Dudley Boyz, along with Paul Heyman. Heyman assured everyone that Kidman & London winning at Summerslam was a total fluke and said that they had 'stolen' the Dudleys titles, as both Bubba and D-Von chipped in with a menacing “thou shalt not steal”. Heyman continued that it wouldn’t be long before the Dudleys had ‘their’ titles back around their waists – as Heyman was saying that Bubba and D-Von were continuing their catchphrase in a quiet voice, “thou shalt not kill”. Finally Heyman said that you don’t mess with the Dudley Boyz, followed by Bubba and D-Von finishing their catchphrase, “and thou shalt not f*** with the Dudleys”. I really liked that segment, it made the Dudleys look real badasses.

--

In the back Scotty Too Hotty and Rikishi were talking. Scotty was doing some stretching before his match as Rikishi wished him good luck. From out of camera-view a voice said “Ye, he’ll need it”. It was Scotty’s opponent Chavo Guerrero. Rikishi got face to face with Chavo but Scotty pushed Rikishi away. (Chavo: “I aint a cheeseburger”). Scotty got in Chavo’s face but Chavo just smiled. Chavo started laughing so Scotty asked if something was funny. Chavo: “Ye, you. You’re a joke”. Chavo headed to the ring as Scotty looked angry.

--

Chavo Guerrero vs Scotty Too Hotty (w/Rikishi)

Passable match. Anyone remember when Scotty could wrestle? Loooooooooooong time ago. Anyway, Chavo played a really good heel in the match – taunting and kicking Scotty when he was down. But Scotty mounted the big comeback and hit the FACEBUSTER OF DOOM~! W...O... But Chavo was up (finally someone no-selling that stupid move) and he rolled Scotty up, and got the three-count. Scotty looked dejected after the match. Rikishi tried to console him but Scotty pushed him away.

Winner: Chavo Guerrero

Next up was the Kurt Angle interview. Conducting the interview was Michael Cole, leaving Tazz on his own. If they really want to have one of the announcers conduct the interviews they’ve got to have a three-man announce team. That’s just my opinion. Firstly Cole asked Angle for an update on his injuries. Angle said that he’s getting there, his leg is quite weak. But it will eventually heal up as long as he looks after it. Next Cole asked if Angle was enjoying being the General Manager. Angle said...blah, blah, blah. Stop wasting time. Finally Cole asked an interesting question; he asked about Eddie Guerrero retaining his title against Booker T. That made Angle angry. Angle called Eddie some rude names and said that he was exploiting the fact that Angle can’t fire him while he still has the title. Angle said that the WWE title is the only thing stopping Eddie getting fired – he doesn’t want to fire Eddie and tarnish the image of the WWE title. Good point Kurt. Well done WWE for a logical answer. But as soon as Eddie loses that title he can kiss SmackDown goodbye. Cole asked if Angle’s personal dislike for Eddie was getting in the way of business. That made Kurt mad, and he set Luther on Cole. But Cole managed to escape back to his announce position. Finally Kurt compared Eddie to a dying man, being kept alive by a life-support machine. I’m guessing the life-support machine is the WWE title. As soon as you take it away...it’s over.

--

Hardcore Holly vs Rene Dupree (w/o FiFi)

Yes you read that right, no FiFi this week. I know it’s hard to take but I’m sure we’ll get over it, eventually. Pretty meh match thankfully ended when Mark Jindrak interfered and distracted Holly, allowing Dupree to win with a handful of tights. Why do heels have finishers? They never ever use them.

Winner: Rene Dupree

After the match Jindrak and Dupree beat-down Holly until Billy Gunn made his *long-awaited* return to make the save. What a night, first Bradshaw returns and now Billy Gunn. Great.

--

In the Olympic Office Kurt Angle had summoned Booker T. Booker looked nervous – obviously expecting to be reprimanded for getting beat at Summerslam by Eddie. However Angle was perfectly calm and told Booker to forget about it; Angle is a fair man; he’ll give Booker a second chance. Last month Kurt suspended ‘the wrestling clown’ Charlie Haas but the higher-uppers said that the suspension must be lifted because they called it an “overreaction”. So Booker’s second chance will be tonight when he goes one-on-one with Charlie Haas, with the loser being suspended for a month. (Booker: “Tell me he didn’t just say that”). As Booker left he passed JBL, who entered the Olympic Office and shut the door behind him.

--

Suspension match

Booker T vs Charlie Haas

Good match. MOTY contender compared to the last. The suspension stipulation added a little bit more heat to the match, which helped. In the end Haas’ technical skills overcame Booker’s brawling, courtesy of a quick-fire Haastruction. Booker was suspended; and wasn’t happy.

Winner: Charlie Haas

--

The camera joined Rey Mysterio in his locker room going through his bags. Suddenly the lights went out and a commotion was heard going on. When the lights came back on Rey was lying on the floor unconscious. No one knew who the attacker was. Someone call Scooby Doo.

--

Charlie Haas was making his way back to his locker room when GM Kurt Angle appeared, along with Luther. Angle mockingly applauded Haas’ performance in his match and offered an insincere ‘congratulations’. Haas said ‘thanks’ – as insincere as Kurt’s congratulations. Angle said that he had underestimated Haas; maybe he wasn’t a joke after all. Kurt said he could see that the talent was still there, screaming to get out, maybe it just needed a little help. So at Unforgiven Haas will get it beaten out of him when he goes one-on-one with Luther Reigns. Haas responded with a smile. (Haas: “Great. I’ve wanted to kick that big ugly bastard’s ass for a long time”). Luther growled. Haas mockingly told Luther to go ‘fetch’. Angle said that Haas can laugh all he wants but come Unforgiven Luther will knock the smile off of his face. As Angle and Luther left Haas shouted “hey horseshoe, see you at Unforgiven”. Kurt tried to calm Luther down as Haas just laughed.

WWE United States championship

John Cena vs Rob Van Dam (w/Paul Heyman) ©

Cena was aggressive at the start, going straight for RVD – who was too busy playing to the crowd. Cena really took it to Van Dam and got a few one-count’s. However, realising he had to do something more if he wanted to get the match over quickly, Cena went for the F-U. But RVD managed to shift his weight and crucifix Cena for a one-count. Cena was surprised and wildly threw punches at RVD. But the more methodical Van Dam managed to dodge the punches and knock Cena down with a spinning roundhouse kick. RVD quickly hit a Rolling Thunder for the first two-count of the match. RVD maintained the advantage, hitting his trademark spots. However when he went for the Five Star Frog Splash Cena somehow managed to get up and F-U RVD to the mat. Both men were down. Cena crawled over to RVD and made the cover. One...two...Heyman pulled the referee out. As the ref argued with Heyman on the outside The Dudley Boyz sprinted to the ring and 3D-ed Cena. Seeing this, Heyman sent the ref back into the ring. RVD was slowly ascending the ropes. He got to the top and did the ‘double-thumb’ when suddenly the lights went out. The GONG~! sounded a few times and the lights came back on. RVD was now lying on the mat, and looked to be out of it. Cena looked confused but covered Van Dam anyway. The ref made the count, one...two...three! Cena had won back the U.S title.

Winner: John Cena

Heyman pulled RVD out of the ring as Cena celebrated, still looking confused. Cena held his title up to the crowd, but when he turned round he was met by a vicious Clothesline from Hell. JBL had killed John Cena. Having made an impact on his return JBL capped it off with a million-dollar smile and a wave to the fans.

WWE Velocity

4th September 2004

Commentary: Josh Matthews & Bill DeMott

The Blue Nova beat Joey Ryan with the Kryptonite Krunch.

A video recap played highlighting the Cena/RVD match from SmackDown. It was announced that on SmackDown John Cena will team with Charlie Haas to take on The Dudley Boyz.

A pre-recorded Basham Brothers interview played. They put themselves over and said that on SmackDown they were going to become the no.1 contender’s and then win the titles. Then they said something about their father slapping them about when they were younger, saying they wouldn’t amount to anything. Well they will succeed; now they’ll be the ones dishing out the beatings. Character development on Velocity? Ye, like anyone’s watching.

The announcers confirmed a three-team elimination match on SmackDown between The Basham, 2 Cool and The FBI. The winners would be crowned no.1 contenders.

The Basham Brothers beat The Ballard Brothers with the Ball and Gag.

The Dudley Boyz/Paul Heyman interview from SmackDown was played again, in case you missed it. Heyman said The Duds wanted ‘their’ titles back. Ok, so why aren’t they in the no.1 contender match then? It’s a mystery.

The Dudley Boyz were almost arrested for the attempted murder of The Urban Outlaws.

WWE SmackDown!

9th September 2004

Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz

Rey Mysterio vs Spike Dudley

Despite getting attacked last week by an unknown attacker Rey didn’t look to be feeling any of the effects. Spike’s a cruiserweight in size but not in style. The biggest spot he hit was a flying headscissors, which paled in comparison to Rey’s usual stuff. Rey won the match after Dropping the Dime.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Suddenly the Titantron went black and a voice started talking. The person was talking from a darkened room. They told Rey to start worrying, because Rey had something that they wanted; something that they needed. And they weren’t going to stop until they got it. The lights came on to reveal it was The Blue Nova talking. So he attacked Rey last week then. Makes sense. I’m guessing he wants the Cruiser title. Rey looked as pissed as anyone can be while wearing a mask.

--

The camera cut to outside the Olympic Office. Voices could be heard coming from inside. The door opened and Paul Heyman walked out, looking pleased. Before shutting the door he told Angle he “wouldn’t regret it”. Wonder what that means.

--

WWE Tag Team title no.1 contendership

The Bashams vs The FBI vs 2 Cool

An elimination match. I repeat, an elimination match. Kidman and London headed to the announce table to do commentary. Oh goody. The blandest team in the WWE since Phil LaFon & Doug Furnas were first to go, courtesy of an FBI Kiss of Death. The remaining two teams then had a decent little match of their own; Rikishi and Stamboli had a decent little brawl (including Stamboli impressively press slamming the big man), and Nunzio and Scotty had a nice, crisp little technical exchange (guess Scotty can still go a bit then). Near the end of the match Scotty hit Stamboli with the FACEBUSTER OF DOOM~! W...O...R...but Scotty stopped (probably realising how much of a fool he looked). Scotty’s expression changed from his usual smiling one to one of uncertainty. He stood for a few seconds, staring into space, before walking to the corner and tagging out. Scotty didn’t even go onto the apron; he started walking to the back. Rikishi looked puzzled, and started shouting at Scotty, wondering what was going on. That was distraction enough for Stamboli to hit Rikishi with the Forget About It for the win. The FBI are the no.1 contenders.

Winners: The FBI

--

Scotty Too Hotty was walking in a corridor, presumably heading for his locker room. He walked past Chavo Guerrero, who started laughing. Scotty stopped and angrily went face-to-face with Chavo. Chavo started trash-talking but Scotty didn’t respond, instead he just walked away. Chavo laughed and started to walk away backwards but got a nasty surprise when he bumped into Rikishi’s chest. A scared-looking Chavo slowly turned around and feigned surprise. He tried to walk away but Rikishi blocked his path. Rikishi challenged Chavo to a match next week. Chavo said he would think about it and tried to walk away. Rikishi said either Chavo faced him next week in the ring or they have a match right here, right now. Chavo accepted the match for next week.

--

Next up JBL came to the ring for some interview time. He said normally it would be great to be back but not in a hick town like this. Ouch, cheap heat. He would also like to thank the thousands of fans who sent him good-will messages while he was having trouble with his money. But all that is now behind him, he’s managed to sort it all out in record time. And while he was away he realised something. He realised that he had got his priorities mixed up. Here he is this great American patriot, the epitome of everything America should be, but he’s letting some thug walk around tarnishing America’s good name by disrespecting it’s title, the United States title. And he’s damn sure he won’t stand for it anymore. So what he wants is for John Cena to come to the ring and hand over the title to him so he can carry the title to the greatness and prestige it deserves. Cena’s music played but he didn’t come to the ring, instead he appeared on the Titantron. He cut a little rap on JBL but shockingly didn’t make any homosexual jokes. He finished with: “you wanna call me a thug; say I aint good ’nuf for you; well am gon show you what a thug can do”. Cena walked away from the camera and returned with a baseball bat in hand. He motioned for the camera to follow him and walked away again. Cena then smashed up the limo. JBL’s facial expressions were priceless. When he was satisfied with his handy-work Cena looked straight into the camera and said his signature “word life”, before smashing the camera with the bat causing it to cut out. Nice way to end.

--

Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly vs Rene Dupree & Mark Jindrak (w/Theodore Long)

Meh meh blah blah. No one likes Billy Gunn; no one likes Bob Holly; no one likes Rene Dupree; and hardly anyone likes Jindrak. So, should make for a fun match then. [/exaggerated sarcasm]. Thankfully Dupree put an end to the festivities when he pinned Holly with a schoolboy and a handful of tights, thanks to a Teddy Long distraction.

Winners: Dupree & Jindrak

--

Josh Matthews caught up with the losing team in he backstage area. Gunn challenged Jindrak to a match at Unforgiven. Oh goody. Holly grabbed the mic and insulted Dupree. He said that that is two weeks now that Dupree has screwed him and his “yellow French ass” better not try anything like that again. [/mandatory French insult].

--

The Dudley Boyz entered the Olympic Office and were angry that they weren’t booked in the no.1 contender’s match earlier. Instead they had to take out Cena and Hass because Angle can’t get the job done himself. Feel the tension. Luther got in the Duds faces but Angle talked him down. Angle said that if, if, the Dudleys could get the job done then next week on SmackDown they would compete for the no.1 contendership for the tag titles, against the current no.1 contender’s The FBI. That seemed enough to appease them and they headed to the ring.

--

Charlie Haas & John Cena vs The Dudley Boyz (w/Paul Heyman)

After a brief skirmish involving all four men the match settled into a standard tag formula, with Haas playing the bump machine for the Dudleys offence. From the apron Cena rallied the fans in Haas’ favour and Haas responded by finally making the hot tag. Cena transmetamogrified into a HOUSE..EN..FEUGO~! Familiar, generic, seen-it-all-before offence everywhere. My God, my writing’s starting to get as repetitive as Cena’s matches. Help. With the crowd firmly behind him Cena laid out Bubba, pumped up the sneakers, Five Knuckle Shuffle to D-Von. Paul Heyman got on the apron; Cena flipped him the ‘word life’ symbol, and poked Heyman in the eye with it. Wow, I’m impressed. That’s the coolest thing Cena’s done in ages. But that was distraction enough for the Dudleys to regroup and hit Cena with the 3D when he turned round. Bubba made the pin as a combination of D-Von and Heyman stopped Haas from breaking the pin.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

--

Next GM Kurt Angle came to the ring, with Luther, for his major announcement. He gloated about the Dudleys beating Haas and Cena and then formally announced The Dudley Boyz vs The FBI for the no.1 contendership for next week’s show. He then talked about Luther’s match with Charlie Haas at Unforgiven. He put Luther over and said that he was making the match a No DQ match. Also getting booked for Unforgiven will be another match – and that is the reason he is out here. Sunday 26th September at Unforgiven Eddie Guerrero will defend his WWE championship against...Rob Van Dam. That prompted RVD’s music to play and Mr Thursday Night made his way to the ring, along with Paul Heyman. They both got in the ring and Heyman took the mic from Angle, who left along with Luther. Heyman introduced RVD Michael Buffer style (but Heyman got his name right). Heyman thanked Angle for making a smart decision – he needed someone to get the job done and RVD always gets the job done – and then thanked RVD for finally ‘coming home’. He applauded RVD as he handed him the mic. RVD thanked the fans for everything they’ve done for him. In fact he wanted to shake their hands, so he left the ring and walked around the ringside area. He finally chose someone to shake hands with and climbed over the security wall. He extended his hand, but when the fan went to shake RVD’s hand RVD pulled his away. He stood on the security wall and said that that’s exactly what he has the fans to thank for, nothing. “A long time ago, in a bingo hall far, far away” proclaimed RVD as he said that back then he used to be something special, but now he couldn’t even lace up the boots of that man, the man who tore the house down night after night. But Paul Heyman has helped him find that RVD, the RVD who was the real ‘Whole Damn Show’; the RVD who thought he was so good; the RVD who actually was that good. The Rob Van Dam who only cared about one person, Rob...Van...Dam. RVD was back in the ring by this time and he handed the mic to Heyman. Heyman said RVD told him he had only one regret, never becoming a world champion. And he chose the perfect man to come to, because Heyman is the greatest manager ever LOL2k4~!, or something like that. Heyman addressed Eddie Guerrero and said that at Unforgiven he will not stand in the way of RVD’s destiny. Obviously Eddie Guerrero decided to come to the ring, but without his ‘ride’ (see, I’m hip). Eddie tried to take the mic from Heyman but Heyman wouldn’t give him it. Eddie just smiled and pointed to the sky, Heyman looked, and Eddie stole the mic from him. Another innocent smile as the crowd started a loud ‘Eddie’ chant. Surprisingly Eddie thanked Heyman, for what Eddie called his big break in the business. But Heyman only threw Eddie the ball, he was the one who caught it and ran with it. Well, actually Eddie said he dropped it but no one noticed so it didn’t count. However all of that didn’t excuse Heyman’s hideous ‘skullit’. Eddie said that he understands RVD’s desire to be world champion, he knows exactly what it feels like to never have been a champion. But Eddie is the champ now and RVD isn’t, so na na na (or something along those lines). RVD attempted to take the mic from Eddie but Eddie held on for a few seconds, resulting in a staredown. After a few seconds Eddie let the mic go as the crowd chanted conflicting ‘Eddie’ and ‘RVD’ chants. RVD said that Eddie was jealous, jealous because RVD has more talent in his two thumbs [double-thumb taunt] than Eddie has in his whole body. RVD reminded Eddie that a long time ago, when Eddie made his ‘triumphant’ return to the WWE he wanted RVD’s title, and now the tables have turned, RVD’s wants Eddie’s now. But RVD is going to do what Eddie couldn’t, he’s actually going to win. The tension had built by this time and the two men were about to go at it when GM Angle reappeared through the curtain. Eddie, RVD and Heyman all seemed surprised. Angle told them to save the fighting for Unforgiven because he hadn’t quite finished. Before he was interrupted he was about to say that at Unforgiven it would be Eddie Guerrero defending the WWE championship against Rob Van Dam, and against The Undertaker. The arena was plunged into The Undertaker’s blue light and a wicked smile crept onto Angle’s face as the show ended.

Paint Shop Pro 9.

I had made the backround ages ago and just found it sitting around my hard drive. I pasted the Taker PSD onto it, liked the effect and went with it. To finish it off I coloured it purple, and added a cross and the Unforgiven bit.

I had already thought up an angle involving Booker but added the suspension in because I remember reading somewhere that Booker was having problems with his back so now he can have some time off and further an angle at the same time. He'll be back soon though.

Ok as you may have guessed this is pretty much dead. The main reason is I've been impressed by the WWE recently(yes I did say that). JBL has (eventually) managed to become a credible and acceptable champion and Cena is the closest thing to a megastar they have had in a while. Plus I think some of my ideas are too drawn-out compared to even the longest storylines in the WWE. There's that, plus the fact I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered anymore.

But I did put a lot of effort into it, especially planning ahead, so here's what I had planned:

UNFORGIVEN

WWE title - Eddie beat RVD and The Undertaker

U.S title - JBL beat John Cena when Orlando Jordan turned heel

Tag title - Kidman & London beat The FBI and The Dudleyz

Cruiser title - The Blue Nova beat Rey Mysterio

Luther Reigns beat Charlie Haas when a masked man interfered

Mark Jindrak beat Billy Gunn

Hardcore Holly beat Rene Dupree

Scotty Too Hotty beat Chavo Guerrero

-

SURVIVOR SERIES

WWE title - Eddie beat RVD in an ECW Rules match

The Undertaker, Charlie Haas, Booker T, Hardcore Holly & Aaron Aguilera

beat

JBL, Orlando Jordan, The Dudleyz, & the masked man

Survivors: Undertaker & Charlie Hass

The Blue Nova, Akio, Jamie Noble & The New Originals

beat

The Hurricane, Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, Paul London & a returning Ultimo Dragon

Survivor: The Blue Nova

John Cena beat Mark Jindrak when he was announced as Teddy Long's mystery opponent

Aaron Aguilera - stereotypical blue-chipper. Wants Hardcore Holly to mentor him. Holly initially refuses. Wants to shake everyone's hand after matches. Booked as face but fans don't like his 'too nice' attitude.

Scotty Too Hotty - he and Rikishi have problems. Mis-communication, etc. Rikishi gets suspended for losing a match by pissed-off GM Kurt Angle. Returns, wants to put problems behind them, says sorry. (Scotty: "Ye, I'm sorry too"). Scotty turns on Rikishi, aligns with Chavo. Call themselves the New Originals. Renames himself Scott Taylor.

The Hurricane - returns to SmackDown to face The Blue Nova. He, Kidman & London get beaten up by Nova, Akio, Noble, Chavo & Scotty. Rey Mysterio helps but the faces are still outnumbered. The heels challenge faces to a cruiserweight classic SurSeries match. Beat up rest of the cruisers so faces don't have a partner. Rey says he knows someone who can help. Ultimo Dragon returns to even up the sides.

Mark Jindrak - complains to manager Teddy Long that he isn't getting him the 'big' matches he deserves. Long promises him a superstar for SurSeries. Turns out to be the returning John Cena back from injury (filming a movie).

-

ARMAGEDDON

WWE title - Eddie Guerrero beat The Undertaker, RVD, JBL, Booker T & John Cena in SmackDown's first Elimination Chamber match

Tag title - The New Originals beat The Shooting Stars (Kidman & London)

Cruiser title - The Blue Nova beat The Hurricane

Ultimo Dragon beat Rey Mysterio

The Dudleyz beat Spike & a partner

Hardcore Holly beat Aaron Aguilera

Elimination Chamber - Angle and Bischoff are seen having a meeting at the Survivor Series. Angle announces that Bischoff has allowed the Elimination Chamber to be used so that Eddie Guerrero loses the WWE title, so Angle will fire him. Therefore Bischoff can sign him for RAW.

Rey vs Ultimo - Rey thanks Ultimo for coming back for Survivor Series and says he wants to thank him by the two having a match at Armageddon. Ultimo accepts

Dudleyz vs Spike - Spike loses a match and afterwards The Dudleyz threaten him because they say he is a disgrace to the family name. Spike gets beaten down, picks a partner. I was undecided on who it was going to be.

Holly vs Aguilera - Holly continues to mentor Aguilera and says he was impressed with his showing at Survivor Series, so he has got him a match at Armageddon against...Hardcore Holly. Aguilera seems happy. The match starts off friendly but Holly loses his temper when Aguilera keeps kicking out. Holly eventually wins, but doesn't shake Aguilera's hand. In the back Holly tells Aguilera that they're still friends but when he's in the ring he's not a nice person, so don't bother trying to shake his hand.

-

ROYAL RUMBLE

Rumble Winner - RAW wrestler

WWE title - Eddie Guerrero beat The Big Show

U.S title - JBL beat Booker T

Tag title - The Shooting Stars beat The New Originals

Cruiser title - The Blue Nova beat The Hurricane in a ladder match

Eddie/Big Show/Angle - after Eddie Guerrero retained his title at Armageddon GM Kurt Angle went on a mass firing spree (the stroyline excuse for the mass firings the WWE had around about that time), which almost resulted in Angle being fired. A number of segments played showing Angle talking to himself, seemingly having a breakdown. Angle booked Eddie in a lumberjack match against John Cena, for the WWE title. Eddie retained again. Angle appeared on the stage and started saying that he didn't want to do it, he tried everything else, but Eddie left him no choice. Suddenly The Big Show ran into the ring and took out almost the entire roster. A sick smile crept onto Angle's face as the show ended with Show standing tall.

The next week Angle reiterated that bringing back Big Show was the only option left, he couldn't let Eddie tarnish the image of the WWE title and SmackDown any longer. Because of what he did to Angle, nobody would sign Show but Angle brought him back and Show was grateful. In two weeks Angle booked Show against Eddie in a WWE title match. Later on in the night Show chokeslammed Eddie from the top rope to the floor leaving him laying in a heap, much like he had done to Angle months ago. The camera switched to Kurt Angle in the back, looking shocked.

The following week a sad Kurt Angle apologised for bringing back The Big Show and quit as General Manager. The last thing he had done as GM was to book a title match which couldn't be changed, even though he had quit as General Manager, and he was sorry for that. He looked into the camera and apologised to Eddie Guerrero, who was at home nursing his injuries, and then left the arena.

John Cena - after returning to SmackDown again (he was away shooting more stuff for his movie) Cena blamed the fans for his lack of success. He said as soon as he started pandering to the fans he lost his 'edge', but now the only person he wanted to make happy was John Cena, and the way he was going to do that was to win the WWE title. He then announced his entry into the Royal Rumble. GM Angle then appeared and booked him in a WWE title match against Eddie (info about the match can be found above ^^). But if Cena lost he would be no.2 in the Royal Rumble (RAW had no.1).

Booker T - Booker said that he had been complaining about being on SmackDown when there was only one person to blame for that, Kurt Angle. He somehow got into it with JBL which led to their match. I hadn't thought of the reason yet.

Hurricane vs Nova - Hurricane hadn't been able to rid the world of the evil-doer The Blue Nova, and Nova refused The Hurricane another title shot. Hurricane hired Detective Matt Cappotelli (a big Hurricane fan and protoge of Gregory Helms, mild-mannered reporter) to find Nova's hideout. Detective Cappotelli couldn't find the hideout but did find out who Nova really was. Hurricane threatened Nova with this information and got him to agree to one last match, a ladder match. Nova won again. Hurricane was dejected and on the following SmackDown a segment played showing Hurricane binning his superhero costume and walking away (like Spiderman). Detective Cappotelli tried to get Hurricane to come back - personal plees, etc. He even invented a HurriSign, but still Hurricane was nowhere to be seen. Nova beat up Cappotelli.

-

WRESTLEMANIA 21

WWE title - Kurt Angle beat Eddie Guerrero

U.S title - Charlie Haas beat JBL

Tag title - The New Originals beat The Shooting Stars and Rey/Ultimo Dragon

Cruiser title - Shane Helms beat The Blue Nova

John Cena (heel) beat The Rock (face)

Spike Dudley & Cousin Snitsky beat The Dudleyz

RVD beat Hardcore Holly and Aaron Hardkore in a hardcore match

Angle/Eddie - After defeating the Big Show at the Rumble, Eddie said that he had forgave Kurt Angle for everything he had put him through because it had brought the best out of Eddie and had gave him even more motivaton to surpass anyone's expectations, he was now one of the longest-reigning WWE champions in history. For that, he wanted to thank Angle. But he wanted to thank him to his face, so next week Eddie guarenteed that Kurt Angle would be appearing on SmackDown for a Kurt Angle celebraton ceremony.

At the celebration ceremony Angle did appear, but so did The Big Show. After brawling with Eddie, Show turned his attention to a frightened Angle, who must've been having flashbacks to the last time he went against Show. Show beat up Angle - reinjuring his leg - and challenged Eddie to a WWE title match for the following SmackDown. Eddie accepted.

When Eddie made his entrance for the title match he wasn't alone in his low-rider, he was accompanied by Kurt Angle - who was on crutches. Eddie entered the ring and the bell rung. Eddie called Angle into the ring, and he had a staredown with Show. Then Eddie had a staredown with Show. Suddenly Eddie was hit with something. It was a crutch, Kurt Angle's crutch. Angle had pulled a Sandman. Angle and Show then beat up Eddie as Cole screamed that it was a SET-UP ALL ALONG~!

**The Eddie/Show 'match' was just used to get Eddie's mandatory defense out of the way**

The next week Angle announced that the final title shot he had made as GM was not The Big Show's at the Rumble, it was in fact a match for Wrestlemania. Eddie vs Angle, for the title.

Angle won the match at Wrestlemania clean, no run-ins, no ref-bumps, just wrestling.

Haas/JBL - JBL had held the U.S for a long time but his reign was littered with cheap victories and cheating. Haas, being the straight-laced wrestler, took offense to JBL's method of winning, saying that he had no respect for the rules of wrestling and wrestling itself.

At Wrestlemania Haas won the title after the match was restarted because of Orlando Jordan interference.

Having scouted JBL Haas asked the 'head officials of SmackDown' if he could use the Big Screen to show the referee the footage if/when JBL cheated. He was told that on SmackDown the referee's decision was final, and if the ref didn't see it then there was nothing anyone could do about it. So Haas decided to take out an 'insurance policy', Miss Jackie brought her own camera and filmed the match. When Haas was cheated Miss Jackie showed the ref the footage and he restarted the match, which Haas won, clean.

New Originals/Shooting Stars/Rey/Dragon - Chavo & Scotty and London & Kidman had been trading the Tag Titles between them over the previous month's. I hadn't thought up a good enough reason, I would've thought of one closer to the time. Rey and Dragon had been teaming together since their respect match at Armageddon. Rey said that Ultimo was a legend and had achieved everyone, except one thing. He had never wrestled at Werstlemania.

Helms/Nova - The Nova/Hurricane feud is recapped in more detail above. Hurricane hadn't been seen since the SmackDown following the Royal Rumble when he binned his superhero costume. Detective Matt Cappotelli had been campaining for The Hurricane's return, to no evail. But while The Hurricane didn't, Suga Shane Helms did.

Cena/Rock - Cena's heel turn is documented above. After a few weeks of running down the fans and basically just talking trash Cena was interrupted by The Rock, making his return to SmackDown. Rock says he was sitting at home listening to Cena run down the Rock's show and the millions...and millions of The Rock's fans and he got sick and tired of it, so he wanted to give Cena a nice big glass of shut-up juice. The two jawed back-and-forth on the mic for a few weeks, which would've provided some good segments. Plus you've got both of them being in movies to bring up. Just seemed like a logical thing seeing as I never had much for Cena.

Spike/Snitsky/Dudleys - The reasoning behind Spike vs Dudleys feud #942 is highlighted elsewhere. Having tried to take out both Bubba and D-Von by himself Spike realised that he needed a partner, and just any partner, he needed another Dudley. But because Bubba and D-Von had turned the rest of the family against him he had to look a little harder. But then he remembered the perfect person. Cousin Snitsky.

I dare anyone to say that Snitsky wouldn't be a perfect Dudley. From my storyline perspective the wrestler Spike brought in would have to be big and menacing, which Snitsky is. Plus to be an authentic Dudley he had to have a certain goofiness to him, which Snitsky obviously has.

I was going to make him a bit accident-prone. He'd bump into things, do stupid things, or generally just fuck-up, and then cry that 'it wasn't my fault'. Tell me you wouldn't mark out for that, go on, I dare you.

RVD/Holly/Hardkore - Holly becomes annoyed with his 'student' Aaron Aguilera (Hardkore) and takes every opportunity to belittle him. After winning a match Aguilera is booed out of the building by the fans and goes to the back, where he finds Holly making fun of him to 'the boys'. He gets sad and leaves the arena.

Weeks later Holly gets involved with The Basham Brothers - who are now members of JBL's Cabinet. Holly finds himself outnumbered and beaten, until Aaron Aguilera returns to mae the save, brandishing a Singapore Cane. He scares off the Bashams, and then turns on Holly. He rains the shots in on Holly, while screaming 'I'm hardcore, I'm hardcore'. He leaves Holly a bloody mess, and everyone is surprised with the aggressiveness of the beating.

Explaining his actions Aguilera wonders why everyone booed him. What did he do wrong? He had finally got to the 'big leagues', he had made it, and everyone booed him for smiling, they booed him for shaking hands. No one knew him, what he had to sacrifice to get there, they just acted like sheep and booed him. And the one person he thought actually understood him, actually liked him, was just using him to keep himself amused. He said that now everyone was going to get to see the person he thought he had left behind, the real him. He renamed himself Aaron Hardkore. He and Holly got into a few times and had a few bloody matches. It was then announced that at Wrestlemania they would have a match to settle it, to see who was the most hardcore.

That was when RVD interrupted, saying that if anyone was hardcore then it was him. After RVD managed to make the Wrestlemania match a three-way his manager Paul Heyman said that he didn't want RVD to do it, it was a bad idea. RVD had grown disillusioned under Paul Heyman's management. After main-eventing for a while RVD felt that he had been caught up in the mix, and Heyman was to blame. Eventually RVD sacked Heyman.

The Undertaker - I didn't really have anything planned for him. I would've probably just went with the Randy Orton match.

-----

While I didn't create two new main-eventers like the WWE did with JBL and Cena I feel that Eddie's looooooong title reign would've really established him as a main-event player. There wouldn't have been a Angle/HBK match but I did like the idea of the drawn-out Angle/Eddie feud, and by postponing Kurt's in-ring comeback until Wrestlemania it would have added some time onto Kurt's career, which looks to be in its latter stages.

I have planned beyond Wrestlemania - in fact I've got a few matches booked for the following Wrestlemania - but I don't know if I'll post it or not. I'll see how this is perceived first. Opinions are welcome.
