Remember that the last time the fans were "allowed" to vote on a vote for a popular superstar, it seemed that Bradshaw was more of a fan favorite than Cena, and thus he was given the "Great American Award" and the WWE title. I bet there are few people here who thought this whole Diva thing wasn't a work, because it's obvious that the WWE continues to not care what the fans want. I don't care who wins, because even if I did I can't do a thing about it. I wouldn't trust my vote to matter.

Did anyone else hear the growing boos during Raw when they did their Diva segments Even the Ringside fans are growing tired of wasting segments of wrestling on women who won't be wrestling nor will probably not be seen again after this silly diva crap is over.

It would have been much better to see Molly and Jazz beating the crap out of these toothpicks. That might have actually got some cheers from the fans.

I believe most of the boos were directed towards the blonde Asian contestant. She wasn't particularly hot and she couldn't speak well. The crowd booed for her but I don't recall them booing for the other two ladies, particularly the PMOTY.

I loved how they pimped her as a dancer and then she pulled out moves than made Victoria look like she had skills in the dance department. Steven Richards in a wig could have outmoved that woman. She was annoying, she couldn't dance and she was as dull as a Smackdown PPV.

 

And the girl who could touch her nose with her tongue...so? Is that suppose to get me worked up?

 

I want to see one come on that can spin plates on poles while juggling apples and singing the American Males theme song. Now THAT is the kind of Diva I'd want.

If they got time, and people gave them a chance, they could produce some good stuff. Or at the very least, some decent stuff. Obviously you're not even going to get any watchable matches out of Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson, but Molly, Jazz and to a lesser extent, Victoria and Gail can bring the goods.

 

If you want a recent example, I just downloaded Molly-Victoria from Vengeance and was pleasantly surprised by it. To put it very basically, for a six minute match, they managed to work a nice little story into it, with Vicky getting overzealous early and injuring her shoulder, and Molly exploiting it. And it actually PLAYED INTO THE FINISH~! The Steviekick at the end was also a nice little touch, given the history between Vicky and Stevie.

 

I would even go as far as to say that if, for example, Orton and Edge worked that EXACT same match on a Raw, it would have gotten a lot more credit than Molly-Vicky got. I just don't understand the 'women = bad' mentality.

 

EDIT: And for the record, don't mistake that as me liking the Diva Search. I HATE the Diva Search. Just pointing this out because I know someone's bound to misinterperet that.

They should just send the women to Smackdown, I don't even watch SD anymore.

There is a big difference between showing a highlight video of something that occured previously and something currently happening on raw. People do not want to watch stupid fluff pieces about contests, they just want to see the girls strip, it is that simple.

If you were showing them current WWE, you'd have failed regardless of the Diva BS.

 

See, the problem I have with all of this is that I consider WWE to be the "big leagues" so to speak. They are the top dog in the game of wrestling. You might not like their product as much as a different promotion/company, but if you're a wrestler, you want to go to WWE because that's where the money & recognition is. Of course, getting there and being used when you get there are two different things.

 

Since WWE is the obvious "top dog" they should act like it. They should SHOW that they are the top wrestling company in the world. They should SHOW that they are the best at WRESTLING. Since, afterall, it's still supposed to be about wrestling.

 

The problem is, they don't want to be a wrestling show, they want to be a soap opera. So, as long as they have that mentality, they'll bring in the wrong demographic while actuall wrestling fans will watch promotions with actual wrestling.

 

A Diva Search contest might bring in some new viewers, but are they going to stick around to watch the wrestling? Probably not because they aren't wrestling fans. The only thing I can see coming from this is running away the fans that are there to watch wrestling.

The demographic they want is 14-34, they are much older than that now. Partly because of stupid crap like the diva contest, mainly because they went from attitude to being pussies.

People in that age group just do not want long wrestling matches, they want an in your face fuck you type of promotion. All of that pro america crap may get the wwe good press, but teenagers and college kids would rather follow a bad ass promotion than a "I am proud to be an American" promotion.
