Guest ShamRock Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Robert De Niro!! De Niro beat Brando 20 to 16. Any comments/complaints?
spiny norman Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 I think this is the only time I've ever agreed with the outcome of any tournament or whatever at this here forum, barring in the Music Forum when The Beatles won Best Artist. About bloody time.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 wow I agree with a TSM tourney result. That's a first. The right man won.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 What you mean Quentin Tarantino didn't win this tourney?
algrim Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 De Niro desrves the win. He left a definite first impression on me when I watched Mean Streets. The man can be funny, scary and tragic. That's why Raging Bull is one of my all-time favorites.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 All RIGHT! We, TheSmartMarks have finally decided for the tenth time who the best actor ever is. Now that this eternal question has finally been laid to rest with the name "Robert DeNiro" we don't have to make another "Who's the best/your favorite/the second best/the worst actor, actress, director, producer, key grip, best boy, extra, audience member, or projectionist" tournament for a long long time. I will promptly destroy any such tournament with extreme prejudice. At the conclusion of the tournament currently going regarding the best movie ever, NO MAS! This is in huge red letters so no one misses it.

Guest thebigjig Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Any of you ever seen a movie starring Brando outside of the Godfather?? Probably not Brando > Deniro
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Any of you ever seen a movie starring Brando outside of the Godfather?? Probably not Brando > Deniro I agree. On the Waterfront kicks the ass of anything De Niro has done. Streetcar is even better than most of De Niro's work.
Yuna_Firerose Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Any of you ever seen a movie starring Brando outside of the Godfather?? Probably not Brando > Deniro I haven't seen anything of his save for Don Juan DeMarco and The Score. Then again, I didn't vote.
Guest thebigjig Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 I didnt either but I stopped posting for a few weeks... either way, I think it says alot about the mentality of this board when Robert Deniro is placed above Marlon freakin' Brando... as much as I love Deniro and agree he is an amazing actor, he cant compare in any way to the awesomeness of the greatest actor in American cinematic history get a clue people!
godthedog Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 Any of you ever seen a movie starring Brando outside of the Godfather?? Probably not Brando > Deniro i have. and i think de niro is better.
