Alro 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 My clock in Windows always wants to jump ahead 5 minutes. I use the Atomic Clock Sync to fix it, but that only works for 5-20 minutes. Is there any way to fix this?
starvenger 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 I suppose you could try changing the clock on your BIOS. Couldn't hurt, I guess...

Alro 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2004 I suppose you could try changing the clock on your BIOS. Couldn't hurt, I guess... And how would I go about doing that? I'm not terribly skilled when it comes to doing things outside of Windows. And I'm using a PC, so I don't have a battery.

griffinmills 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 There is a battery on the motherboard, I think. I'd be amazed if there wasn't! Lots of info at this link http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/show...49&page=1&pp=14 although the sum was either video card or running azureus in the back ground was causing it I would give it a read, it's short! chaosrage 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Did you get it fixed? My windows clock keeps going ahead 10 minute no matter how many times I change it. It always makes me late for class.
Alro 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Not yet. The problem is on my owrk computer and I haven't really had time to sit down, read about and fix the problem. Hopefully I'll have some time this afternoon.
Alro 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I never got it to work properly. Our "tech" guy (he was hired as an engineer, but after our computer lady quit he started handling this stuff) said it might be the computer updating the clock based on our server. I guess I'll just use the Atomic Clock Time Sync and deal with it.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Wait... Atomic Clock Time Sync? That sounds like a Gator or GAIN Network product, which means it's spyware. If that's the case, remove it from your system immediately.
Alro 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I got it from worldtimeserver.com. If this is spyware, is there a program like it that doesn't contain spyware? Edited to say that a2 and AdAware do not recognize it as such.
