I got the game and got all signed up for this league...

 

but...

 

I hafta say, my first impressions of the game are NOT good. The controls don't feel right to me...but that could just be because i'm so used to madden's smooth controls.

 

I think this game is way too focused on the presentation(which is really nice) and the little extra features.

 

I'll hafta give it some more playtime so i can at least compete in the online league, but I think madden is still my game of choice for the gameplay itself.

This is EXACTLY what I thought, first impression-wise, but I started playing random people online, and whenever I came upon control issues, such as the difference in passing techniques from madden, I would ask the person I was playing, they would help me out, and now I have about 5-6 online games under my belt and a few of those celebrity phone games down, and I must say, I think ESPN 2K5 is seriously starting to win me over, I am not ready to put that stashed $50 back in the bankjust yet, but for the first time in approx 10 years, I am seriously not sure if I am going to buy Madden or not.

Then, you certainly need to play ESPN some more... the only thing I willing to give Madden in terms of this year is their Franchise mode.

I don't quite have the game yet (ground shipping...not good), but I'd like to join up in the PS2 league. NoCalMike, since you joined first, you can have the Skins. I'll suck it up, and use another team. I tell you one thing, it won't be another team in the division. *shudder*

I'd like to get in on the PS2 league. My copy of NFL 2K5 is reserved and ready to be picked up at the local GameStop, so I need to head on over there real soon.

 

How long will this league go on until? I'm only asking due to having dial-up for the next two months, at the most. Once we're in September, I should be moving back to Oregon, where we will have a Cable/DSL connection. If we stay on that long, my connection will be pretty fluid and smooth.

The PS2 League is a 7 week season. 8 teams will advance so add another 4 weeks thereabouts.

 

I can restructure the season and the amount of teams (currently 12) if people wish for that.

 

...I'm thinking of restructuring anyways to get everyone's opinion and what type of team they want anyways. Send me a PM for the team you wish for, so I have it down.

Do I have to pay in any way, shape, or form to do this? Like how do I get my PS2 hooked up online using my DSL provider that I already have? If that can be done then I'm sure as hell in.

All you need is the network adaptor for the PS2 and a connection to the internet connected into it, FS

Last I checked the Network Adaptor was about 90$ Canadian (Wal-Mart). Not sure how much it would be down there. Guessing about 70$ if you get lucky.

 

And yes, the DSL router will be fine, as long as there's a line connecting into the router and to the PS2. It's how I'm using mine. Well, except the fact that I'm doing it through a network. Same thing more or less.

It's $60 Canadian at EB, a buck less at Superstore.

Just to let the PS2 league know.......I work monday - friday 8am - 5pm......and then have class from 6- 9:30pm Mon-Thursdays. So My league games will have to be either late-night on weeknights or on the weekends........Thanks.

I'm down for Minnesota on the XBox. My GT is DLR. When it gets going, i'm on anytime before 12pm EST and after 12 am EST on the weekdays. On the weekends my schedule varies, but it's much more open. The red and yellow is going to be cleaning ass off his cleats with the purple and yellow

I'd love to join an Xbox league. I don't have broadband yet, but I'm hoping to get it and Live ASAP.

 

The only problem is that I'd have to pick another team like the Titans or Panthers since Vitamin X will be all over Green Bay.

How do you join a league on Xbox Live?

For you and anyone else who is thinking about it, I believe all you have to do is go to Join/Create Season and go to the league I posted up there. It's a private league, so your slots are reserved at least until I don't feel like keeping it private anymore (but that won't happen unless we have an umber of interested parties but still some slots left). So just look for the one that says Smartmarks and join it. I think that's all there is to it.
