Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I think Moyer is definitely available, he's had an up and down year and he's pretty fuckin' old. If a team like the Mets came calling I bet they'd deal. Teams have inquired about Moyer and the Mariners have turned them down. He's still under contract for next year. If I'm the M's I have no problem moving Moyer for prospects. He's 41 years old and still has decent value, it's not like they'll really be contending next season either, they might as well plan for 06-07 now. They're better off moving his contract for a prospect or two. Maybe the real reason they won't move him is that nobody will give them a legit prospect? Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I've gotta think Bonderman is right up there for the Tigers. He's still only 21 years old, and does have excellent stuff.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Bonderman and Robertson were a toss up. Bonderman is younger, Robertson is a strike-out capable lefty (97k in 18 starts)...those are somewhat rare. Besides, as a long-time Tiger's fan..I can only wait thru so many "next young pitcher" that is brought up, only to do little to nothing before being traded off. Though to be fair what I see of Bonderman gives me a bit more hope than normal, all things considered.

I'll just go cry in a corner Jose Vidro Livan Hernandez Nick Johnson You can take off Nick Johnson and put Cabrera instead. Johnson can't draw flies in the giant toilet bowl (Olympic Stadium). But who cares anymore, we lose the team at the end of the season.

Any GM who views him as untouchable has serious issues running a major league ballclub.
Hektik 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 San Diego Padres -SS Khalil Greene -3B Sean Burroughs -AAA CF Freddy Guzman I was pretty surprised last year when the Padres traded two players that I thought would be untouchable. They were Oliver Perez and Jason Bay. The Padres got Brian Giles in return, which at the time made sense since the Padres were building up for 2004.

Cabrera draws more than Nick Johnson (he got loudly booed in a game I've seen live against the White Sox in the Big O. The Expos lost 11-7 that night). Well... untouchable, no but it would hurt the franchise more to lose Cabrera than Johnson (not that more damage can be done).
