Triple H will *not* be wrestling Chris Benoit at SummerSlam.

So let the speculation begin.....

That's because HHH will be wrestling Edge at SummerSlam.

* DING DING DING DING*

LOTC wins a Krispy Kreme dounut.

Question is, will it be for the World title? Most likely.

I honestly think Eugene will cost Triple H the match on Monday and they'll move to Edge/Hunter. I have a feeling Orton will get his first shot at Benoit at SummerSlam and perhaps they won't take the belt off of him until the October Tuesday PPV.

So, if Hunter wins the title and faces Edge at SummerSlam, would it be a unification match, since Edge is the IC Champ?

all i can say is i would be pissed if HHH became IC champ...which seems like what would happen IF it was a unification match. they wont put the title on edge.

but i guess there is still the chance that benoit will have the title by then...even though most smarks have given up entirely on that idea.

I have a feeling they'll do Triple H/Regal at Slam. Only problem, I don't see H going that far down the card.

House shows for the end of August have Orton/Benoit and Edge/Batista, so maybe they hint at SS?

I think they'll just do another Elimination Chamber with HHH winning the belt, and then they'll move on to HHH vs. Edge for Unforgiven, which I think is a RAW PPV.

I hope to GOD they don't do another Chamber match and, thankfully, I don't think they will.

Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton

Triple H vs William Regal

Edge vs Batista

Chris Jericho vs Kane

La Reistance vs Rhyno and Tajiri

That card would be pretty blah, but at least Benoit would still be champ.

I have no doubt in my mind that we'll be seeing the following matches at SS:

Edge vs HHH

Benoit vs Orton

Whether or not Benoit is holding the belt (and I doubt he will be) is another matter.

Eh, I see no reason for Edge/Triple H as long as Edge has the IC Title. Title vs Title would be pointless, and Triple H going after the IC Title doesn't seem right. They could switch the roles of Orton and Trips, having Triple H go after the IC, and Orton after the World, but that = Triple H, IC Champion, and that ain't happening, and shouldn't happen.

I was thinking they would have Flair and Trips beat down Regal after the match before Eugene saves. They gotta have room for Jericho and Kane, so Eugene/Flair seems out. Unless Raw has 5 or 6 matches.

Anything with Orton going for the gold, and it being transitioned off of Benoit sounds good to me. He's a great technical wrestler, and maybe it's even WWE's fault...but it seems like his reign is a flop and it almost seems weird that HHH hasn't held the title in so long (by today's terms).

If they go with Triple H vs. Edge at Summerslam then there is going to be monumental pressure on Edge to get himself over considering half the crowd is cheering for Orton in all of their matches. Now the crowd might just hate Triple H enough to get behind Edge, but who knows.

Oddly enough...I wouldn't mind seeing Eugene vs. HHH at SSlam.

Even though Eugene has "quit", it's obvious he'll be back soon enough, and he will want to go after Hunter. I think if they did Regal vs. HHH in two weeks, and after a long offensive streak by Regal...Evolution just DECIMATES the guy... it would be a perfect opportunity for Eugene to show up along with MAYBE Benoit and Edge (and/or Jericho?) to help even the odds, bringing Eugene back into the fold and being a good storyline pusher, putting all the main players into one ring and against each other.

Then at Summerslam...

Chris Benoit vs. Randy Orton (World Championship)

HHH vs. Eugene

Edge vs. Batista (Intercontinental Championship)

Rhyno/Tajiri vs. La Rez (Tag Team Championship)

Chris Jericho vs. Kane

HHH vs. Eugene could be done GREAT if they book it right. I'm not sure if I would want to see Eugene go over (clean or not), but the fans would pop huge for it.

A good idea for the match could be "If HHH wins, Eugene loses his job" and have HHH lose by DQ. Now, even though they did it recently in the Jericho/Kane match on Monday....Bischoff restarting it under no DQ rules could lead to over-booking, but in this case with so many wrestlers tied into each other...it might not matter, especially since it could help the story of the Benoit vs. Orton match later in the night.

I'm actually awaiting the day that a RAW is headlined by Evolution & Kane vs. Benoit, Edge, Eugene, Jericho, and Regal

Hmmm... there's a Survivor Series Main Event right there. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see that match be "final two survivors then wrestle one-on-one for World Championship"... sure, some of those guys shouldn't get a title shot, but they can be weeded out early... but Benoit, Edge, Jericho, Orton, Kane, and HHH could ALL be among the final two and their fight would be at least DECENT.

Jericho will probably be the one taking on Batista. Kane will be facing Michaels to get that feud restarted.

I doubt Shawn will be back by Slam. How many Raws do we have left? 2, 3? Not nearly enough time to build Shawn's return, him seeking revenge on Kane, and then the match getting made. Best bet (if they don't do Kane/Jericho) would be Matt/Kane again, I think. I think Jericho vs Batitsa will be on Monday.

It's Toronto, they should be ok.

Rando, I think they'll save Eugene's return FOR SummerSlam, and have Regal/H there.

I like Benoit v.s. Orton as the main event. Orton's pretty close to being ready to get the belt (although I'd probably wait until the PPV after Summerslam).

I think that sets up much better for a HHH v.s. Orton main event then having Benoit lose to HHH, then have Orton chasing HHH somehow.

This got me thinking that Michaels return is going to be the big moment to end RAW this week.

Is it confirmed that he'll be back for SS, though?

I don't think they'd do that with HBK. I'd see that more as a Fall program, since Summerslam is getting kinda rushed and filled up now.

Let's look at all the possible matches they have...

HHH vs. Edge (title vs. title)

Taker vs. JBL

Eddie vs. Angle

Benoit vs. Orton

Batista vs. Jericho (falls count anywhere, prob)

Flair vs. Regal/Eugene

Dudleys vs. Kidman/London

Hardy vs. Kane

La Rez vs. Rhyno/Tajiri

RAW Diva Crap (another 3 way?)

Cruiserweight match (4 way?)

The WWE avgs. about 8 matches a show, and this is well over that avg. I don't see where HBK would fit given the amount of time they have.

Well, last year at SummerSlam, they went with a 7-match card, and one of those matches was Bischoff vs. Shane. So you never know with this wacky company.

Dudleys v.s. London/Kidman (or some kind of 3 or 4 way)

Hardy or HBK v.s. Kane

La Resistance v.s. Rhyno/Tajiri

CW match (involving at least Rey and Spike)

Women's Match

Looks like a full card to me.

I'm gonna be at that PPV in Milwaukee... don't even joke about Benoit losing the title here of all places... I'm a huge Benoit fan, and I would HATE to be in the arena when his title reign ends... unless he loses it to Edge, who I'm a bigger fan of.

But not Triple H and GOD PLEASE NOT Randy Orton. Give it to Pimp-tista. He would make a better Champ than Goldberg, anyhow.

The last Summerslam card that went over 8 matches was Summerslam 2000 (10). Typically, they'd have half the card filled with multi-man matches (tags, 3 ways, 4 ways) and the other half with singles (usually one "special" match, ie: McMahons, non-wrestlers). Here, there are very few multi-man matches and lots of singles. I would almost guess they would make a combination with Regal/Jericho/Eugene/Flair/Batista, but that leaves one man out. Perhaps they could have Regal/Eugene vs. Flair/Batista and have Jericho work a concussion angle and have him interfere after being "suspended" or something lame. That would clear some space for a quick cruiser or womens match.

Here's how I'd see it going (in order)

Match 1: La Rez vs. Rhyno/Tajiri (Tag titles) (7 minutes) (ends at 8:10)

Match 2: Hardy vs. Kane (10 minutes) (8:20)

Match 3: Womens Crap (5 minutes) (8:30)

Match 4: Smackdown US title match (15 minutes) (8:45)

Match 5:Regal/Eugene vs. Flair/Batista (15 minutes) (9:00)

Match 6:Eddie vs. Angle (20 minutes) (9:20)

Match 7:Dudleys vs. London/Kidman (10 minutes) (9:30)

Match 8:Benoit vs. Orton (15 minutes) (9:50)

Match 9:Cruiserweight match (10 minutes) (10:00)

Match 10:Taker vs. JBL (15 minutes) (10:15)

Match 11:HHH vs. Edge (20 minutes) (10:40)

(the times won't add up because I leave room for entrances, promos, etc.)

Start the show off with a tag match - work the formula and let Tajiri and Rhyno get their spots in. This could possibly be a heat match. Hardy/Kane is debatable at this point, however they'll probably do something with them so Kane can get his win back which'll lead into HBK feud. The crowd should still be hot a half hour in, so throw in the womens match out 3rd so if it bombs it'll bomb early and the crowd'll forget about it for the Cena US match (TO is hot for Cena). It might be risky putting two hot properties (Cena and Eugene, plus Flair... hmmm, I wonder if the TO crowd will hate on him for his Bret comments??) back-to-back, and one could argue that spreading them out would be better, and that's a good argument, I just dunno where to put em. Jericho coming out at the end of that match is a guaranteed crowd pop, so it'd be a good place to put it at the top of the hour.

Angle/Eddie would make for a nice "major" match in the middle of the card and give the crowd some rest from the novelties that went on before. The Dudleys match acts as a buffer between the two singles matches. Benoit/Orton with Benoit losing would have the crowd a lil pissed, so the cruiserweight match with some nice highspots following it could get the crowd to forget it for a moment and provide some energy at the top of the hour). Then the two title matches at the end, JBL preferably going over Taker and Edge going over HHH, sending the TO crowd home happy.

Here's what I think will happen with the Raw brand for Summerslam.

World Title- Chris Benoit vs. Randy Orton

Triple H and Ric Flair vs. Eugene and William Regal

IC Title- "Fatal 4-Way" Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. Batista

"Street Fight" Shawn Michaels vs. Kane

Womans Title- Trish Stratus vs. Victoria.

If HHH is not wrestling Benoit at SSlam, then it HAS to be HHH vs. Eugene. It is the most built up match in the entire company.

I think Edge defends against Orton again, since the ending on Monday looked to me like those two had unfinished business.

That would mean Benoit would have to find someone else to face, hopefully Jericho.
