Vanhalen Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Iraq's human rights minister has shed light on the daily prison life of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Bakhtiar Amin, who visited him in jail, told the UK's Guardian newspaper the former leader was in good health and was being kept in good conditions. Mr Amin said he was being held in solitary confinement with no access to media, but he had books, studied the Koran daily - and also wrote poetry. Saddam Hussein is awaiting trial on charges of war crimes and genocide. Muffins and cookies The former leader is being held in an air-conditioned cell, three metres wide and four metres long, Mr Amin told the newspaper. The Iraqi minister said Saddam Hussein was careful about his diet - but had developed a liking for American muffins and cookies. He used his daily exercise period to tend a small garden near his cell in the US military prison. "One of [his] poems is about George Bush, but I had no time to read it," Mr Amin told the Guardian. However, the former president "appeared demoralised and dejected". Mr Amin, a human rights campaigner who had family members killed by the former regime, said he could not bring himself to speak to Saddam Hussein when he visited on Saturday. Saddam appeared in court earlier this month to hear seven preliminary charges, including accusations over the campaign against the Kurds in the 1980s and the suppression of Kurdish and Shia uprisings after the 1991 Gulf War. Mr Amin did not reveal exactly where the former president was being held, although it is thought to be at a US military prison in Iraq, the Guardian said.
Guest MikeSC Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Saddam writing poetry? Man, that reeks of a probable crime against humanity. -=Mike
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 But is he writing the poetry with women's undies on his head?...
Guest MikeSC Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 But is he writing the poetry with women's undies on his head?... He did so before he was in jail. I doubt he'd stop now. -=Mike
NoCalMike Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 But is he writing the poetry with women's undies on his head?... gawd, still living in denial, or just a alternate dream world are we?
Guest Cerebus Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 He used to write trashy romance novels in his spare time when he wasn't butchering people.

We're feeding him muffins & cookies - and I'll bet you my entire bank account that we're not counting his carb intake. Man, we learned NOTHING from Abu Gharaib. Someone call Amnesty International!
Guest SP-1 Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I bet they aren't even Oreos. America is so cruel.

Back on topic: At least now Amnesty International and all those other prisoners' rights groups can't bitch about him being treated badly. Enjoy the rest of your life now, Saddam. I doubt there's much left.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I thought Allah hated it when Muslims ate blueberries...
Guest MikeSC Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 I thought Allah hated it when Muslims ate blueberries... No, you misread that verse. It went "Blessed are the blueberries. RASPBERRIES, though, are the spawn of Satan and must be smitten." Don't worry --- many people make that mistake. -=Mike
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Was that before or after the part about how the Infidels eat seedless watermelon?...
Guest MikeSC Posted July 26, 2004 Report Posted July 26, 2004 Was that before or after the part about how the Infidels eat seedless watermelon?... Both. They go ON AND ON about the infidels and their seedless melons. Can't go three verses without seeing it. -=Mike

My soul's damned either way.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 It's not wrong, but if you blow yourself up I think Allah will only give you 20 virgins. Or perhaps instead of virgins you'll get a bunch of chicks that have been dumped by other martyrs and you'll have to hear them whine about how they got dissed. Guest combat_rock Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 We really need someone to investigate what the hell it is he's growing in that garden...
kkktookmybabyaway Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 All he'd have to do is squirt the UN Peace-Keepers/Inspectors with the garden hose and they'll run off, leaving him to plant whatever he wants...

BTW: Welcome to TSM -- your account shows that you are rather new as a member... Heh, thanks for the welcome. I try. Been lurking for a couple of years, actually. I'm not gonna argue anything related to Islam/Muslims/Infidels/Terrorists/Whatever especially on this board. Bearing grudges is not good for my blood pressure (I'm too fat). I'm open-minded 'bout these matters, actually...especially being a graphics/web designer...I'm in the Southeast Asia region (Malaysia...it's 9.20 in the morning here in the office) hence the late, late reply.
