FOUR WAY DREAM MATCH:

"The Phenemonal" AJ STYLES vs. LOW-KI vs. JERRY LYNN vs. "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!

Screw the Olympics. Forget the Xtreme Games. Hell, let go of every other dream match that you have ever seen. On August 21st, everything else will take a back seat to the what may be the greatest collection of talent ever to step foot in the same ring...at the same time. For the first time ever, four wrestlers, considered by many to be the best in the world, will fight for the opportunity that each feels he deserves: a shot at the 3PW Heavyweight Championship in September.

Jerry Lynn wants it. The most experienced grappler in this match, Lynn is a former ECW Champion, and has been hell-bent on reclaiming his spot as the top wrestler to compete in Philadelphia. Pound-for-pound one of the most skilled wrestlers of the past decade, Lynn has come closer to defeating Joey Matthews for that title than anyone else, and he would like nothing more than to earn one more crack at the gold.

AJ Styles wants it. "The Phenemonal" one seems to be the people's choice, as his dynamic style has made him a true sensation with wrestling fans worldwide. He certainly has the ability to be the best, but can he shake the stigma of losing his recent no-time-limit showdown with Christopher Daniels?

Christopher Daniels Wants it. The "Fallen Angel" will enter this match with the most momentum, after last month's huge victory over AJ Styles. The master of mind games will therefore have an additional psychological advantage, but can he find a way to overcome three of the top superstars in the sport, all of whom he has had issues with in the past?

Low-Ki wants it. This hard-hitting international superstar has recently returned to 3PW, supposedly to provide the top-notch competition that he feels only he can supply. Despite his new bully-like attitude turning the fans against him, Low-Ki remains confident that he can out-tough the other four men and land himself a shot at the richest prize in 3PW.

Victory. Pride. Respect. A shot at the 3PW Championship in September. The best wrestlers in the world today...in the same ring...at the same time. Undoubtedly, this will be one of the most talked-about "Match of The Year" candidates in quite some time. If you love wrestling at it's highest level, do NOT miss your opportunity to join us for this very special event.

For the 3PW Heavyweight Championship:

JOEY MATTHEWS defends against RUCKUS!

In 1976, the world was captivated by a movie about a boxer... an underdog... an unlikely hero named Rocky Balboa. Rocky was not the biggest fighter, nor was he the smartest, but he had heart...enough heart to stand toe-to-toe with the Heavyweight Champion, eventually beating him to become the top boxer in the world.

In 2004, Joey Matthews reigns supreme as the top man in wrestling. Successful championship wins over the likes of Raven, Jerry Lynn, and AJ Styles have established "The New School" as a man who can and will do whatever it takes to remain on top. Love him or hate him, there is no doubt that it will take a supreme effort to wrest the coveted title from the cocky champ's grasp.

Enter Ruckus, who earned this upcoming title shot via a victory over Damian Adams. In fact, it was Matthews himself who offered a championship opportunity to the winner of that contest, perhaps thinking that either man would pose little threat to his belt.

Perhaps Joey should think again. While Ruckus will never be the biggest...maybe not the smartest (starting to sound familiar?)... it is his tremendous will to win that makes him one of the most popular Philly superstars to emerge over the past few years. Month after month, fans have witnessed the phenom from the hood put his body on the line, taking to the air and risking his neck for the sport he loves. Undoubtedly, this is the biggest opportunity of his career, and Ruckus fans will congregate on August 21 to cheer on their hero. In the movies, a determined underdog from Philly shocked the world: will history be made for REAL on August 21st?

3PW will crown it's first ever tag team champions! More info to come!!

If they can't get a decent crowd for this show, I don't know what they could do, short of bring in some ex WWE stars like Foley, Austin, or Bret. Foley's the only one I could see doing it too, and ROH already snagged him.

Apparently Jerry Lynn had to pull out of the show because of a shoulder injury. Chris Sabin is taking his place.

"3PW is proud to announce that CHRIS SABIN has been signed to make his debut on Saturday, August 21st, and will compete in what is shaping up to be the greatest match in our company's history: the "Four Corners" Dream Match to determine the NEW Number-One Contender! Sabin will be replacing Jerry Lynn, who has removed himself from the card due to a nagging shoulder injury."

Sucks about Lynn pulling out, but oh well. Sabin is at least a decent replacement, although I would prefer Lynn, but what can you do.

3PW was drawing alot better when it was more of a ECW Revisted type of group using alot of Old ECW Guys, Now it seems that there trying to draw more of a ROH type fan and its not really working. I think they should use there core group of guys (Joey, Striker, O Doyle) and instead of bringing in the ROH type guys you gotta try to get some more ECW guys. Saturns taking bookings, Whipwreck is still around, Chris Candito seems to be showing up for his bookings

I think Lynn said in a Interview that the cause of his injury was Juvi giving him a reckless 911 Juvi Driver,

Sabin in it is better for work, so thats a good thing. The problem with 3pw to me is the uncreative uppercard. You had a bunch of Styles vs. Daniels, and now you've got another version of it. All they did here originally was mix two singles matches from last month. Styles-Daniels is the new Lynn-Styles, it has just been done to death and it's not going to draw that many fans. I think this show should draw pretty well though, but I agree with the guy above...they are not going to get the ROH fans to all come out for one match per show, so I think they should refocus on the ECW type stuff.

I doubt they will change their current style, especially since Styles and Daniels are both booked till the end of the year. I think Meanie is just depending on word of mouth, and hoping the crowds will get bigger from there. Attendance has dropped pretty badly since the departure of Raven, and since Matthews has had the title also. Last month during Matthews/Slyk Wagner Brown, the crowd chanted "Worst Champion Ever" and "Bradshaw's Better" at him, so I dunno, I'm not expert, but I don't think the whole Matthews experiment is working Meanie. I'd just give Styles the win in the 4 way, then the title the following month, let him hold it till December when his time is up, have him drop it to someone the company built up on it's own, ala Striker, or a name, ala Perry Saturn or Chris Kanyon.

And what about Tommy Dreamer? Since he is no longer on the active WWE roster, couldn't he come in for a few shots, like Al Snow and Lawler?

I can only assume that it would be hazardous to a federation to invest long time (a la, giving the guy a title) in someone like Dreamer. This is simply because you never know when WWE's going to call Tommy and say, "Hey, we need you to go on the road this weekend. Ohh, you've got an indy booking? Cancel it."

I never thought Joey Matthews would be a bad champion. Sucks for him.

I have only seen one 3PW show. It was okay, but unspectacular. Aside from the wet t-shirt contests, they don't seem to have their own niche yet. :P

I hope the 4-way match is fantastic. That tag rumble doesn't look very good AT ALL.

Maybe they'll let the 4-way match go 60+ minutes and try and get some buzz for 3PW? That could help them, at least IMO. I have never heard anyone say something like "oh, you have to see this match from 3PW!" before.

Joey Matthews is replacing Ki in the four way match and it's now for the title. Ruckus' title shot just went bye-bye, not that anyone cares. :)

Now, will they put the title on AJ? I guess we'll see...

I'm not a ROH type fan, so to tell the truth, Chris Daniels has really disapointed. Styles has been good, but Daniels has been a big let down. And these guys will be in the top slot till the end of the year. I'll save judgement till the show next weekend though.

Other then that, I loved Joey Matthews vs. Slyk Wagner Brown, Matt Striker is always entertaining, I like Ruckus's crazy risk taking and CJ O'Doyle is the man as well.

It's like I said before, they need a few big ex ECW guys. That's when they drew, and that's when their shows were more entertaining.

Apparently Christopher Daniels is the new 3PW champ.

According to the CZWfans board, Matthews pinned Styles and Sabin, and then Daniels beat Matthews to win the title.

I was there, and it was a great show. The booking just flowed, and the crowd was hot. I dunno about O'Doyle losing to a chick however. Granted, I like April, and it was good to see her and Slyk win the tag belts, but c'mon, to take a guy that gets that kind of a reaction, and to deball him like that, that's kind of silly.

3PW returned to the ECW Arena last night before a crowd of over 400 in a night that featured a great main event and an example of some of the most creative stalling ever seen to wait for a wrestler who was still traveling to a show...important once you see who and the results of the main event.

Christopher Daniels was stuck at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta as the show started...with his plane on the runway ready to leave but being held up for heavy outgoing traffic. Needless to say, this required an audible as to how to proceed...and 3PW callled one of the most hilarious ones imaginable in the 3PW Tag Team title match to stall creatively until Daniels could get to Philadelphia.

The evening began with Commissioner Todd Gordon going over the event's events, only to interrupted by the all too well known strains of the ECW TV theme...and then coming on was Paul Heyman...er... Stryker, complete with 57 tags around his neck, baseball cap turned backwards, dark suit...and usual catchphrases.

Here are the evening's matches:

Ruckus beat Slyk Wagner Brown (with April Hunter)

Royal Rumble Tag Match to determine 3PW tag champions with two teams coming out to start, then other teams coming out at 5 minute intervals (teams could be eliminated by pinfall or by going over the top rope).

Double Trouble (Jack Victory and Rockin Rebel) and Stryker and Rob Eckos started. Stryker... and even Eckos... came out dressed as.... the Bushwhackers. People were giving Strkyer and Eckos.

The...um....Strykerwhackers were eliminated at around 5 minutes.

It should be noted for those of you reading this...that the crowd was loving every minute of this...as Stryker's imitations have a been a regular feature of 3PW shows and have become a cult favorite with this crowd.

Next team was Gary Wolfe and Mike Kruel (with Jasmin St. Claire) came out...and no eliminations until the next "team" came out.

Stryker and Rob Eckos came in, complete with "Russian flag" and full gimmicks ("Iron Sheik" with bananas taped to his boots to simulate the pointy shoes, and pretend "exercise clubs") as Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff. Stryker started singing a hilariously bad version of the Russian anthem, and got thrown out of the ring again. He kept singing it as he walked to the back.

Blue Meanie and Roadkill were the next team to enter.

Double Trouble was eliminated after about 20 minutes.

"Iron Man" played over the loudspeaker...and Stryker and Eckos came in as the Road Warriors...and actually got a "LOD" crowd, Stryker came out with what looked like gimmicked footballs pads, and aluminum foil spikes. Eckos came out in I'm not quite sure what. Needless to say, they were thrown out again.

The many faces of Stryker bit was so over with the crowd...and he's so funny doing them... that the crowd didn't even care that this match went probably twice as long as it would have under normal circumstances. They were really over with the crowd, leading to several "we want Stryker" chants during what followed. You can't imagine how hard people were laughing at these skits (I think if they had come out to ELO and doing the Rock and Roll Express, I'd have wet myself laughing).

Remaining were Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter against Gary Wolfe and Mike Kruel. Brown and Hunter won the match at 40 minutes, to become the first 3PW tag team champions. Final two teams fought under regular tag match rules.

Then, the show hit kind of a lull for this sort of combination of 3 matches within a match.

Monsta Mack and CJ O'Doyle went to a no-contest, when Slyk Wagner Brown and April Hunter came in trashing both wrestlers. April laughed at O'Doyle, and said she could beat him in under 2 minutes.

April Hunter beat O'Doyle in 31 seconds with the testicular claw. I'm going to guess that O'Doyle may have been hurt coming in, as it's the only rational explanation for this, since O'Doyle is also a cult favorite with a segment of the crowd.

Monsta Mack then came back, called out Roadkill and had a match. Roadkill went over in the end.

Then a long intermission...as 3PW found out that Christopher Daniels was on the ground at Philadelphia International Airport.

In the main event...and the match that the crowd came to see...and fortunately got to see...the Four Way Elimination Match for the 3PW Heavyweight Title..."Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels beat Joey Matthews in about 40 minutes to become the new 3PW Champion in a fantastic WRESTLING match with pacing and timing.

Here are the eliminations:

* Matthews pinned Sabin at 23 minutes

* Matthews pinned AJ at 31 minutes after AJ was hit with Last Rites by Daniels. The crowd did NOT like this one bit, as they thought it meant that Matthews was going over

* Daniels beat Matthews with Last Rites to win at 40 minutes...with lots of teases that Matthews was going over until the end...

This match was all the more a remarkable performance in a career of remarkable performances by Daniels...given the fact that he touched down at Philadelphia International Airport, was driven directly to the show and practically ran from the back entrance of the ECW Arena, changed into his gear and went straight to the ring.

3PW announced a return date of October 16, with no September show since the Hand/Peltz boxing group that now runs the Arena is holding a closed circuit telecast of the Oscar De La Hoya-Bernard Hopkins PPV scheduled for September 18.
