Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I like that their inserting comedy in to the Eddie/Angle feud. The use of real-life past demons crap leading in to Mania was just that,CRAP. Now here's hoping Eddie does a better carry job at SS. Yeah, okay. Who cares about Kurt beating the shit out of Eddie when you can have TEH FUNNY? Sig worthy quote. Sig worthy?Standards for sig quotes must be at all new low. They did the serious crap for Mania and it failed. + It did? And really, rigging cars to shoot powder and dancing with the owner and drawing on photohraphs isn't that much higher than shooting shit. Maybe my TV mysteriously turned the volume down itself but the crowd was all but dead for the Angle/Eddie match up until the finish save for some small eddie/angle chants. I know part of this was because the actual match quality was below par for the 2 involved but still it got just a little more heat then the crickets heard during the tag title matches. I didn't think the crowd heat was all that bad. You should also consider that it was roughly 80 million matches and about four hours into the show and right before the two big matches the crowd was looking forward to. The fued was reptitive and boring. The feud was about two men who hated each other showing how much they hated each other. I mean, it didn't show the real, raw emotion and hate of say, drawing funny pictures on photos, but it was really good for what it was. Maybe if we're real lucky, next week, we'll be treated to two hours of Kurt and Luther plotting to throw a pie in Eddie's face, only for Eddie to TURN THE TABLES and throw a pie in Kurt's face! Lord knows that nonsense worked for the Eddie/Big Show and Kurt/Edge feuds.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 They did the serious crap for Mania and it failed.Hence the relatively dead crowd for their match. Are you seriously saying the Mania match was serious? As serious as it SHOULD have been. You have Eddie and Angle, who apparantly hate each other...and they arrive at Wrestlemania, and suddenly they're having a technical wrestling match? Watch the match over. Does Eddie show any signs of being angry at Angle? Does he show signs of wanting to destroy Angle for the stuff he'd done to him. No. He dances. He prances. And we get a shitty 'comedy' ending that again makes both men look stupid. Lack of seriousness was what made the crowd sleep during the Angle/Eddie match. If they'd have gone out and looked to exact revenge on each other as they'd been doing the past few weeks, the crowd would likely have been red hot. As it was, they weren't. Same thing happened with Eddie/Chavo at the Rumble. The dancing, Lie Cheat and Steal Eddie DOESN'T WORK in big match, feud ending situations.

Lord knows that nonsense worked for the Eddie/Big Show and Kurt/Edge feuds. Or we could be even luckier and Angle could come out and cut a boring 20 minute promo on how a former drug addict and alcohol abuser shouldn't represent our country. Followed later in the show by a boring uncharacteristic Eddie interview were he drools like a madman and goes in to flair territory of crazyness in regards to Angle's promo. Then it could really make my dream come true by doing the same thing every week till SS.Oh wait that's what they did for Mania. The Eddie/Angle match was dead till the finish for the same reason as the recent Edge/Orton match. It was boring.

Because it made it look like the two people in the top feud on a show don't like each other. Something that should be a necessity.

Kaertos 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 About the Eddie / Angle comedy stuff. Here's my take on why I think it works. Eddie knows that at SS he gets the chance to kick the hell out of Kurt, so why not humiliate him as much as possible before that? It makes sense to me. Besides, if Eddie gets handcuffed and beaten one more time, I'm going to be ill. It has happened far too much this year. And yes, I think twice is far too much.
