LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Since SJ forgot to post the card. Here's what it is that I have jotted down. I don't know the first round brackets, but we can add them in after HD. DAY 1: First Round of EoD The Parka vs. J. Arthur Edwards (No Holds Barred) Hell's Hitmen vs. GPX Jivin JR vs. Jim Cornette (Tuxedo Match) DAY 2: Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals of EoD Zack Malibu vs. Crystal (OAOAST Title) NNMX vs. Black T (Tag Title) Drek Stone vs. Mad Cappa (Hell in a Cell for Italian Title) --------- Why aren't we having the Quarterfinals on Day 1 so that it's more evenly divided? Chuck Woolery 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Math time! Let's say you have a sixteen man tournament. This gives you eight first round matches, four quarterfinal matches, two semifinal matches, and one final match. Using your setup, there would be twelve matches on day one, and three on day two. Obviously, there is very little balance here. However, by placing the quarterfinal matches on day two, you have eight matches on day one, and seven on day two -- the most even balance possible given the setup. You can literally apply this formula to any tournament and come up with the same result: there will always be more first-round matches than in the rest of the tournament combined. Cheers. Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Keep your newfangled "math" out of this, bub. Well, the EoD thing will be a little clearer after tomorrow (well, we'll have the first round, anyway), so I'll hold off on that. Early prediction: Calvin Szechstein. Thrillogy, represent. Les autres matches: - J. Arthur over The Parka, due to Cain-terference. - Hell's Hitmen over the G-P-X, sad to say. - I doubt Jivin' Jim vs. Cornette will end in anything but a brawl between the NNMX and Black T. Which is all right by me. - Speaking of which, no way that Black T loses to the Midnights -- no way. - Drek over Cappa in the Cell which should be AWESOME. - And of course, no way Zack loses to that hussy Crystal! You know, I figured this would be a tight card, but seeing it on paper it looks REALLY good...really really good.
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I predict that one person will forget the PPV is in a prison and write their match like it was in an arena. That one person will not be me, because I don't have a match.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 It will not be me, because other person(s) are writing my match(es). GO BEING LAZY~!
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Actually, there's only six first-round matches, since Daredevil's Delight is a four-way, which in turn takes the place of two first-round matches and a quarterfinals match.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Wouldn't there then be seven first-round matches? Six one on ones and a four-way? And there'd also only be three quarterfinal matches.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Man I really need to start thinking before I post. The last few days I've made some dumb posts. I understand why the Quarterfinals are on day 2 now.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Someone else should ACTUALLY PREDICT SOMETHING.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Wouldn't there then be seven first-round matches? Six one on ones and a four-way? And there'd also only be three quarterfinal matches. No, because then there'd be eighteen guys in the tourney. See... 2+2+2+2+2+2+4=16. 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+4=18.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 DAY 1: First Round of EoD I will predict this after HD The Parka vs. J. Arthur Edwards (No Holds Barred) One of these two men will win...or it will end in double Count Out...or No Contest...or...I'm not telling. Hell's Hitmen vs. GPX I'm going with Hell's Hitmen to keep them going strong Jivin JR vs. Jim Cornette (Tuxedo Match) Jim Cornette after using the tennis raquet DAY 2: Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals of EoD I predict that blood will be spilled Zack Malibu vs. Crystal (OAOAST Title) I'm going out on a limb and saying Crystal...just to be different NNMX vs. Black T (Tag Title) Black T retain Drek Stone vs. Mad Cappa (Hell in a Cell for Italian Title) I'll go with Drek Stone

No, because then there'd be eighteen guys in the tourney. See... 2+2+2+2+2+2+4=16. 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+4=18. But that's exactly what I said. Six one on ones...and a four-way. 2+2+2+2+2+2+4=16. I think. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Yeah. What Hoff was saying was 7 matches all together, not 7 regular matches and a 4-Way.

That one person will not be me, because I don't have a match. *raises hand* Did it already. I wrote it with pen and paper though, so I'll be able to change the format when I type it up. Tony149 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 EoD: The winners are fans of gore. Blood! The Parka vs. J. Arthur Edwards: Parka Hell's Hitmen vs. GPX: GPX by DQ/countout (gotta keep HH strong) Jivin JR vs. Jim Cornette: The Rock 'n' Roll Express make a cameo costing their old rival the match DAY 2: Zack Malibu vs. Crystal: Zack NNMX vs. Black T: The Rock & Rolls return, this time costing BT the titles in their quest to wrestle every version of the Midnights ever created. That also leads to cameos from the other 3 incarations of MX. Drek Stone vs. Mad Cappa: Drek Stone
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Here are the first round brackets and my picks to win: Hoff vs. Scotty Static Hoff...I don't see him going out in the first round Rick Edwards vs. Nate vs. Mikey vs. SB87 Can't say Sly Sommers vs. Cuban Wall Sly Sommers...unless Calvin interferes Gunner Sharps vs. Vitamin X Gunner...he's unstoppable! Jay Darring vs. Chris Stevens Shooter Jay...he can't lose on his comeback! Drek Stone vs. Johnny Jackson Drek because he bet on himself and can't lose...can he? Calvin Szechstein vs. Leon Rodez Calvin...you gotta keep moving towards that Sly/Calvin matchup
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 By the way, those aren't the chosen brackets; the winners of the first round matches will have their opponents drawn from all of the other first round winners, not a set order for matches.
