He has the most crossover appeal of the current batch and has a good look. His selling is fine, his wrestling is getting a little lazy though. But I imagine they could put the title on him and throw him against Eddy in some face vs. face matchups, which would bring some edge back to both guys.

Hey Tony, contact me when you read this.

Cena as a face sucks on the mic. He needs to get back to the edgy raps that got him where he is.

His raps were never "edgy" they just never played to the crowd before the face turn.

They were better though, but you're right about playing to the crowd. He does the same thing The Rock does though, and gets near the same pops, he should be champ dammit. Bradshaw should lose the belt to him. They can have a decent match. Cena sells like hell and has those Rock-like manuervisms in the ring that hide his weak wrestling ability (like the rock), and Bradshaw's been improving, sort of.

Cena's moved up to being my favorite wrestler again because of what he did for that kid. That's a shitload of money 300 bucks that he gave to that kid, and in another paragraph you see Hogan asking for more money.

Cena sells a beating as well as anyone in the business right now. Plus he has a bunch of offensive spots that really pop the crowd. That's what you need to be a great babyface... that and good timing which he has as well.

Jindrak has been around for four years and they just don’t think his wrestling and charisma and progressing fast enough.

Jindrak is 100x better than he was in WCW. He's no Rock, but based on his Velocity matches, he's definitely developed some charisma, and seems to be developing in the ring, and was even starting to get over during his mini-push w/ Teddy Long. I could go for a lower card heel push for him, as he's definitely better than either Suzuki or Heidenreich.

Cena is a cool guy but he still needs to improve on his wrestling skills and on the mic to be a main eventer.

He's the best guy on the mic that SD has.

Bradshaw, Eddy and Angle are all far better interviews than Cena.

Imagine if he was on RAW and he was jumped in the parking lot by Evolution. He comes out the next week to respond and ... raps.

He's too comedic to work as a top guy at the moment. He's also sort of embarrassing to watch around non-fans.

Gay and doody raps do not entertain me.

You're missing the point.

He can start a feud with a single promo. The crowds eat out of his hand every time he speaks.

Whether you like it or not... his mic skills are fine.

Being entertaining on the mic and being good on the mic are two different things.

Granted, he is entertaining.

But can he make you pay to see a match by talking it up?

Angle?

Angle has NEVER cut a money promo in his entire career, and he's been terrible post-Mania. I honestly cannot remember the last Angle promo I enjoyed.

Bradshaw?

Bradshaw's funny. But so is Cena. Bradshaw is just taking the cowardly heel as far as he can, it's nothing special on the mic.

I'll give you Eddie as a great interview, though I think lately he has not been given an opportunity to show it.

Oh and I can imagine him rapping on Evolution. Evolution is currently fighting a mentally reatrded character, and that seems okay with everyone.

Cena might be comfortable on the mic but he still doesn't entertain me by saying that wrestler x is a homo and the " champ" is here.

Big difference. That's being shown as a serious story involving a comedic character. It would be impossible for anyone to take a guy who can't open his mouth without rapping seriously. Also, Cena has main event potential over the long haul. Eugene doesn't, at least not in this gimmick. So they shouldn't be approached the same way.

Stop using the "two wrongs make a right" philosophy.

Bradshaw has some humor in his promos, but is capable of being serious as well, as we've seen a few times, and he can work serious angles, like the Mrs. Guerrero heart attack. Angle has never cut a money promo, but he still has more credibility than Cena.

Let's see some raw emotion and some focus out of Cena before calling him great on the mic.

Actually I think Cena has already proven he can work well in serious capacity. Hasn't he been doing Austin schtick from 98 (with Angle playing McMahon and Reigns playing Dude Love), outpopping the Champ, and basically being the anti-authority badass?

His throwing of Luther Reigns through the wall whilst shouting "THIS IS MY HOUSE, BITCH!" was a fucking sight unto itself, and I can totally see him doing that to Batista.

I don't know how anyone can accuse Cena's promos of being too goofy and comedic and then claim that Angle's promos are better. All of Angle's best promos were where we was being goofy and stupid. I can't remember a single promo by Angle in which he was serious because they're not that memorable.

I never said Angle was a good interview. I merely said he was better than Cena. He can talk without rapping, so he's automatically a step above him.

You probably haven't been watching backstage segments with Cena. He was as serious as you can get when Kurt was the GM. Heck, when he was the prototype Cena, remember when he bitch slapped Jericho? (Was it Jericho? I'm not sure exactly)

He can cut a serious promo if he had to. Bottom line is, the crowd loves him and will pop for anything he SAYS, something only people like The Rock and Austin can do. It doesn't matter if he doesn't entertain one person, he's good enough to be champ.

Rock and Austin were versatile enough to work both serious and more laid back angles though. If Cena can prove that he can be serious and be every bit as effective, I agree that he's a strong choice for champ.

Honestly... Angle's regressed as a promo to the point where that's no longer true.

More WWE News: Heidenreich, Angle, Long, More

Teddy getting love from whitey....

More WWE News:

- The Saturday Smackdown show in East Rutherford, NJ drew 6000 fans for a gate of over $200,000. The show in Bridgeport, CT yesterday drew about 3000 fans for a gate below $100,000.

- After working the weekend house shows, most feel that John Heidenreich still doesn't have "it" and looked lost in the ring. Heidenreich is still scheduled for a program with the Undertaker following Summerslam and 'Taker has always been vocal about workers who he feels aren't ready for the "big time."

- Kurt Angle is said to be feeling OK. He worked the SD! shows this weekend and is getting ready for his Summerslam match against Eddie Guerrero.

- Guerrero did not work the weekend shows as he rests his hamstring.

- Making Teddy Long the new Smackdown GM was Vince McMahon's idea. McMahon is very high on Long and feels that he is the perfect fit. WWE plans to have Long play a babyface GM.

WWE News: Palumbo, RAW Gates, Sammartino, More

Is Bruno ready to finally work with Vince?

- Chuck Palumbo injured his neck over the weekend. It isn't thought to be too serious since he continued to work following the injury.

- The RAW house show in Albuquerque, NM on Friday drew about 4000 fans for a gate over $100,000. The RAW show in Austin, TX on Saturday drew about 3600 fans for a gate of nearly $100,000. The Corpus Christi, TX show yesterday drew 4000 fans as well.

- Many wrestlers started to feel the effects of Albuquerque's thin air on Friday.

- Steve Austin's ex-wife, Debra, was backstage at the show in Austin on Saturday.

- Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon all met with Bruno Sammartino last week in Pittsburgh. The reason for the meeting was to discuss whether Bruno will be involved with WWE's upcoming 24/7 on demand service. The meeting was said to have gone very well.

I'd like to see Long play more of a tweener character rather than a babyface. The character needs to keep its edge.

I wonder if three years ago Teddy Long thought he would be one of the central characters on Smackdown.

Yeah. I'd hate to see Teddy Long pull a Mick Foley on Booker T by making him defend the U.S. title in unfair situations just to benefit the face challengers (like handicap matches, gauntlet matches, etc.) and other faces on Smackdown.

You mean a fair GM character? I think that idea's just a little off the wall for the WWE right now.

That is a really cool story about Cena, I think I've heard quite a few accounts of him on a personal level from fans over the last couple of years, and they've all described him as a class act when it comes to stuff like that.

Cena's more ready for a world title than Orton, IMO (although his ring work is probably slightly worse at this point) and I'm hoping that WWE is holding off giving him the strap to let him film this movie then start a slow build for an eventual Mania win. They should see how he draws in a Hogan-style face champ run.
