THE PHENOMENAL AJ STYLES VS. KID KASH

Last Wednesday night in his surprise return from a suspension, Kash cost The Phenomenal One the X Title. Now, the war between Styles and Kash is back on, and the former X Champion is looking for some major payback. Can Kash back up his mouth – and his actions – this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View against “The Human Highlight Reel”? Tune in and find out!

COUNTRY WHIPPING MATCH

AMERICA’S MOST WANTED VS. TEAM CANADA

First, Team Canada and Coach D’Amore cost America’s Most Wanted the NWA World Tag Team Title. Then, in their tag team match last Wednesday, D’Amore and his soldiers viscously strapped AMW with a leather belt. As a result later on in the night, James Storm challenged the Canadian alliance to their kind of southern justice this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View: A Country Whipping Match! Six leather straps will be hanging from the ropes, and the team that gets to them can use them on their opponents!

X CO-CHAMPIONS MICHAEL SHANE AND KAZARIAN w/ Traci VS. JERRY LYNN AND CHRIS SABIN

One week after becoming the X Division Co-Champions, Michael Shane and Kazarian will step into the ring this Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View against two former X champions in Jerry Lynn and Chris Sabin! Will the power struggle in the X Division at an all-time competition, can Michael Shane and Kazarian work as a cohesive unit and beat Lynn and Sabin? Or, will Lynn and Sabin make their own bid to challenge for the gold by beating the champs? Tune in and find out!

LUCK OF THE IRISH WEAPONS MATCH

“IRISH” PAT KENNEY VS. BIG VITO w Trinity

Last Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View, “Irish” Pat Kenney delivered a message to Big Vito through Trinity – he wants Vito in match this Wednesday live on the Pay-Per-View…and it’s going to be under Kenney’s terms! In this “Luck Of The Irish Weapons Match”, everything will be legal to use! Both combatants can even bring their own weapons, meaning this will without a doubt be even more hardcore than their last brawl in the Asylum two weeks ago! Can Kenney once and for all eliminate the NYC by beating Vito? Or, will the NYC member show Gilberti and Swinger how to get things done? Check it out this Wednesday live on Pay-Per-View!

CONTRACT VS. MONEY MATCH

ABYSS w/ Goldylocks VS. SONNY SIAKI w/ Desire

Goldylocks’ stable is growing, as she recently added the contracts of Sharkboy and D-Ray 3000 to her army in addition to Abyss and Alex Shelley. Following a brawl last Wednesday between Goldylocks and Desire, the TNA Knockouts agreed on a challenge for this Wednesday night live on Pay-Per-View! It will once again be Contract vs. The Money as Sonny Siaki faces Abyss! If Siaki can win, he and Desire are set for life. But if he loses, they will be owned by Goldylocks!

ALL THIS AND MORE THIS WEDNESDAY LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW!

Torn on this one. Raven/Sabu and Styles/Kash should both be good and the Kazarian/Shane vs. Lynn/Sabin tag match and AMW/Canada strap matches should push it over the edge, but nothing really seems to have that "important" feeling to it. Nevertheless, it looks strong enough for an order.

The Styles/Kash feud continued in IWA Mid South this weekend, where Kash cost Styles a match against Delirious, and Styles took out Kash in his match against Sabu and Danny Daniels.

Not that TNA will show that or anything, but I thought I'd just mention it. Anyways, this show looks eh. Raven/Sabu has been a nice build, but the match just isn't going to deliver. The two tag team matches look really solid and I'm hoping Kash/Styles will be good, but I doubt anything will have enough time to break ***. Jarrett/Hardy does NOT excite me.

Although, I'm not a 12 year old girl either...

Raven vs. Sabu: since this is the blowoff, it NEEDS to be in the main event. i'll be pissed if TNA shuffles this one somewhere in the middle of the card. anyways, it should be a good brawl. the question is, what does Raven do after this? the main event needs Raven desperately, and i'll be SUPER pissed if they just throw him back into a meaningless fued with Jim Mitchell.

Styles vs. Kash: i feel like they could've built this up a bit more, since it't their first encounter and all. but i expect that this is just the first of many matches in this fued. my only hope is that they bring the X Division title back into it where it belongs.

Shane/Kazarian vs. Sabin/Lynn: speaking of the X Division title (and all the heat it just lost by leaving one of TNA's best fueds right now), we have THIS. at least Sabin and Lynn are wrestling...

AMW vs. Team Canada: i'm starting to think that we're going to see a xXx/AMW vs. Team Canada fued. not that i mind that. it'd be cool seeing how AMW and xXx would work together.

Kenney vs. Vito: Vito's a good brawler, and Kenney's just plain good. i think this is okay, but Kenney could stand to get into a fued that doesn't involve garbage wrestling. at least they're using him. and Trinity is better off with Vito than she ever was with Gilberti.

Siaki vs. Abyss: the Contract vs. Money matches are just getting dumb. i don't care who wins this match, because i don't care about Goldy's money or Siaki's contract. like i've said, Dutch is a good writer, but this is just proof that he seriously lacks imagination.

and Finally... TWO JEFFS COLLIDE! my guess is the same thing will happen that always happens when someone faces off against Jarrett: he'll ramble on about how great he is, Hardy will take it and look like a little bitch, we'll see a guitar spot somewhere, and JJ walks away clean. i'm SO looking forward to this.

the show looks good on paper, but we all know TNA's reputation in that regard.

X CO-CHAMPIONS MICHAEL SHANE AND KAZARIAN w/ Traci VS. JERRY LYNN AND CHRIS SABIN

...what does that even mean? Jeez, TNA, at least try to post coherent sentences on your official previews.

On the other hand, Kash/Styles excites me, as does Raven/Sabu. If I wasn't so certain that they overbooked this card, I'd order it right away.

I would order it if I could. I was worried Sabu/Raven would be a bait-and-switch, but since it's apparently billed as the ME, I doubt they'd do that. Kash/Styles will only build the feud, so I can't see that being anything much. Abyss/Siaki is actually quite interesting for me.

Another can miss show right here. Styles/Kash looks to be the only thing that'll be above average.

Jarrett/Hardy? Gonna suck because Jeff Jarrett AND Jeff Hardy both suck. But at least Hardy has the Sabu Factor, meaning you know it'll be a trainwreck, but you still want to watch anyway.

Raven/Sabu? Raven hasn't been worth a damn thing in TNA since the feud with the New Church peaked in the summer of 2003. His ring work has vastly decreased in quality, and he went from the character everybody knew and love into just another face/heel. I am glad, though, that he's actually been RAVEN lately and not Scott Levy. Sabu might help make this entertaining with table spots, but alas, TNA has something against the usage of chairs and tables these days, and since all of Sabu's moves involve both...ugh.

I don't think I need to voice my displeasure at seeing Kazarian/Shane vs. Lynn/Sabin. Lynn and Sabin are both talents that should be pushed towards a Tag title run, maybe even towards the World title scene. Kazarian? Blows ass. Shane? Acceptable when he's carried by a far superior worker. Fuck this match up the ass.

AMW vs. Team Canada is another surefire "why did I ever like this company?" match. Bobby Rude blows ass, Chris Harris rapes sheep, and Petey Williams is an overrated blunder who didn't have a single good match in TNA that didn't involve better workers than he'll ever be. James Storm? Meh.

Kenney vs. Vito is just another match in the neverending-but-should-have-ended-before-it-started Kenney/Siaki vs. NYC feud. Glenn sucks. Swinger sucks. Vito is tolerable in garbage matches. Siaki is decent. Kenney's ringwork has been so poor since the folding of ECW that I would think he's an incredibly green rookie, and the character has taken away everything from him that made him cool.

Siaki vs. Abyss will be enjoyable. Abyss can seemingly put on good matches with any opponent of any style, and Siaki can be carried.

In conclusion, another reason why I'm not losing $10 each week.

yeah, we're going to get the typical "co-champions getting jealous which leads to a match to decide who is really champion once and for all!" story. that angle has always sucked, and with these two guys, it'll suck even more. they could've done something different with this angle, but alas.

as for the overbooking, i couldn't agree more. not only does TNA's creative team lack actual creativity, but they have all the subtlety of a sledgehammer and make the stories more complicated than they need to be.

All in all, it looks pretty good. I'll wait on a review to see if I find a tape or not, but it actually looks OK.

Come on Corey, surely you're not suggesting this card is any worse than even the majority of them when you were ordering? I'd happily order this one if I had the chance.

Question: Isn't Jerry Lynn hurt?

I'd rather that match turn into Triple X vs Shane/Kaz if Lynn is unable to wrestle. Then again, I am a mark for Triple X.

WARNING:Too many matches = dissappointment.

Truthfully though, they are totally overbooking their PPV's though. When they have absolutely WAY too much to do over a 2 hour show......the big matches never get the time they need and thus are a dissappointment.

They could simplify this by either extending the PPV to three hours, or not having a few of the undercard matches be on the PPV. It's simple, really. Keep all lower-card matches under 10 minutes, and all title matches between 15 and 20. You'd get one hour (about) of title bouts, and one hour with 4 matches and a bunch of interviews. Really NOT that hard. Always, ALWAYS make sure the main event has at least 15 minutes to go before post-match shenanigans and whatnot.

But no, TNA wants to be Sports Entertainment/Wrestling Reinvented, yet they don't understand that their peak (of both good-great matches and exciting programming) was when the matches were based on WRESTLING and the storylines were SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT (although not as over-the-top as WCW and WWF/WWE have been).

Once again the L-A-Z hits the nail on the head.

I think the show looks average at best. Some of the matches just don't seem to have a chance of being decent, let alone good. Maybe we'll get lucky and AJ will pull a good match out of Kash (I'm not as high on him as alot of you guys are) and make the show borderline watchable. But I doubt it.
