Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 Courtesy of Dave Prazak, the 17th and 18th men announced for the TPI: We are happy to announce two more competitors for what will ultimately be a 24 man single elimination tournament, with a three way elimination final. 17. DOUBLE C. The current Westside Xtreme Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. This member of Swiss Money Holding trained under Chris Hero, as well as in clinics with the likes of Dave Taylor, Tony St. Clair, and Skayde. Made his IWA debut in July of 2002. This will be his first SS16/TPI appearance. 18. DANNY DANIELS. Winner of the 2003 Ted Petty Invitational tournament, defeating Chris Hero and Alex Shelley in the finals. This former IWA World Heavyweight Champion had the longest reign of any IWA World Champion in recent memory. This will be his second SS16/TPI appearance. There are now six spots remaining in the 2004 TPI tournament. They will be announced during the coming weeks as we approach the weekend of the event. Mark your calendars! No surprises here, Danny Daniels was always going to be in it, and Double C being a Hero trainee and having past IWA:MS appearances doesn't shock either. JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 Yep, no surprises here. Would have been shocked if Daniels, the IWA-MS regular and defending champ, wasn't in it. Looks great so far. I have a feeling CM Punk is going to be one of the final six, too.

Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2004 Personally I hope Tom Carter is one of the last six....although I don't expect it.
Guest Evolution Report post Posted August 15, 2004 God, another reason to go to Highland on 8/21... Are tickets the regular prices for the TPI? Or do they come in a dual pack for both days? I'm so tempted to get closer seats, but maybe it'll just be better to save money and be in general admission.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 #19 for the TPI is... Nigel McGuinness.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 #19 for the TPI is Nigel McGuinness, according to the IWA Chat Room.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Another pretty much guarenteed pick and certainly a welcome one to add to an increasingly loaded lineup. The only shame about so many great talents in the tournament is that some damn good guys will have to be eliminated in the 1st round, a strong case can be made for nearly all the guys named so far to go pretty deep into the tournament. Guest Evolution Report post Posted August 27, 2004 Treat this completely as rumor, but I have heard that Ray Gordy has cancelled for the TPI. His replacement? American Dragon.
