Why the Williams Sisters hate?

It's hard to describe, but they're just so damn annoying when they lose. And if it's not them, it's the broadcasters, like at Wimbledon, when ESPN crucified Karolina Sprem for taking the bad point. You think Venus would've rejected the point? We've seen tennis players go off the deep end trying to get points awarded that they rightfully earned but do not get...they're certainly not going to put up a fight with the chair ump to say "take that point AWAY from me! You take it away right now, you son of a bitch! That is a BAD call! You CANNOT be serious!" And even if Venus got the point she would've lost anyway. The one time that a member of that stupid family finally shows some tact, the media goes and blows it for them.

So in conclusion, I wouldn't mind it if Venus and Serena tore their quads, preferably in matches against cooler players like Sharapova and Hantuchova. Then they'd be free to do their modeling, commercials, fashion design, reality shows, cookbooks, rap albums, and whatever else they want to do. And this would be optimal, because they can make their money without polluting tennis tournaments with their grunting and whining.

The Williams sisters are better suited for the Mens tournaments. They are built better than most of my friends in High School, and tower over the competition in size and strength.

Plus the ever annoying grunts for EVERY volley gets annoying FAST.

I agree with you on that one, because actually, a Williams challenged a man who was ranked in the 200s and got a 6-0 6-1 shitkicking, IIRC. Imagine what Hewitt, Roddick, Federer, and company would do.

Actually, the story is even funnier:

At the Australian Open a few years ago, BOTH Williams sisters claimed that they could beat any man outside of the top 200, and so some guy ranked 205th or something took them up on it. He played a round of golf that morning, and had lunch (with beers) at the pub, and then played each Williams sister in one set that afternoon, beating them something like 6-1 each.

Frankly, I'm not sure any female tennis player could even take a point off of Roger Federer or Andy Roddick.

That's great... they probably claimed he rigged the ball or some shit.

Why all the Winslow hate?

The guy seems like a great TE & he would be killer on special teams. He just runs through people and is jacked to bejesus. And, he's got the most "heart" of anyone I've seen playing football in a long time. So what if he's an asshole?

When you, as a rookie who has proved NOTHING, turn down the richest contract in the history of the league for a tight end you deserve all the hate you get. Get the fuck over yourself and play ball.

Winslow embodied all that was wrong with the Miami football program last year, as he pouted at a newsconference, undermined his team's quarterback (Brock Berlin), compared himself to a soldier and football as a war, and generally acted like an immature little shit.

Good player or no, that's not the kind of person I'd want playing for me. That's just asking for problems of the Keyshawn Johnson variety.

See, that's EXACTLY who I'd want playing for my team. Some overstimulated musclebound psychotic who believes he's in a life or death situation when he steps on the field. He's pretty much a sure thing, too. I'd go to great lengths to sign him.

I find it amusing my two favorite players in their respective sports (Favre and Kobe) are amongst the most mentioned here. Heh. I understand the Kobe hate, but why all the hate on Favre from non-Bears fans? Because he's never missed a game, and it'd be ironic?

I'd like for Urlacher, Warner, and Vick to all have career-ending injuries. Most overrated fucks ever.. well, except for Urlacher. He's just not as good as he used to be, and that's saying something since he's entering his prime now.

NBA-wise, I couldn't really care all too much against a particular player to hate them enough for a career-ending injury. Probably Slava Medvendenko (WHY THE FUCK DID LA RESIGN HIM!?!?!?!)

EDIT: I also forgot to mention Randy Moss and Jeremy Shockey. As any Packer fan worth his salt would remember that infamous game which snapped the winning streak at Lambeau would remember, Moss is an obvious choice. And Shockey because he's also overrated and he uses the hype to make himself believe he really is that good. He does have a marketable last name though, I'll give him that.

that struck me as odd also. But, it was only the 1st guy to take a shot at Favre, and it didn't happen again.

I don't want Kobe to suffer a career ending injury because it would be so much more satisfying if "his" Lakers were absolutely run over by Miami, or if they just never looked promising again and Kobe became Scottie Pippen.

Winslow can call his ass Generel George Patton if he wants, but when you turn down the biggest contract in the history of tight ends then you deserve all the hate you get.

Hope he turns into Ricky Dudley.

I think maybe we're talking different streaks here, but I thought it was the Falcons that broke the Lambeau undefeated streak, not the Vikings. I'm just a Bears fan, don't hold me to it or anything.

Let's go even more recent. He turned down a contract to be the highest paid TE in the NFL from the Cleveland Browns. This guy hasn't even seen a snap in the NFL and he's already refusing an extremely good contract.

The same reason I dislike Eli. If you haven't taken a snap in the NFL just STFU and take what a team gives you.

Then I'm guessing you also dislike Phillips Rivers.

See, I don't mind you wanting a big contract...but when they offer you the highest contract for your position and you say NO, then I have a problem with you.

I had no problem with Eli and Phillip since they are going to be the franchise. But Kellen is a damn tight end and last time I checked the franchise doesn't live and die on the performance at that position.

They offered him the high, he said no so screw him.

My problem with Rivers is I don't think he's an NFL calibur QB at all. I think Drew Brees had more potential but San Diego just tossed him to the wolves.

I was pissed when the Browns drafted Winslow though. I knew well before that he was more of a pain than he's worth and he's proven me right up to this point. I'll be amazed if he even steps on the field during preseason. And he's better have over a 1000 receving and at least 6 or 7 TDs this year for me not to hate him even more.

I'm responding to this thread in general, not to anyone in particular.

It's beyond stupid to hate or wish injury upon a athelete JUST because they receive alot of hype from the media. You're an idiot If that's your main reason for "hating" someone.

Also if your still majorly pissed off when a pro player allows his agent to give GMs a hard time over money, then perhaps you should stop watching pro sports. That's the world of pro sports now and it will never go back to the time when players would sign the first fair offer they saw.
