WWE Jukebox Service...

Recommended Posts

So I guess this is the WWEs aofficial launch of their Video On Demand progrma ont he net, and I like it. I signed up for it, and for 4 bucks you get to watch a whole bunch of classic matches. This month you get to see:

Bubba Ray/D-Von Dudley vs. Spike Dudley/Balls Mahony

Rob Van Dam vs. Rhyno

Cactus Jack & Mikey Whipwreck vs. Public Enemy

Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy

Brock Lesnar vs. Hulk Hogan

Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show

Shawn Michaels vs. Yokozuna

Undertaker & Mankind vs. Shawn Michaels & Triple H

Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind

Ric Flair vs. Eddie Guerrero

Hulk Hogan vs. Lex Luger

Lance Storm vs. Mike Awesome

Goldberg vs. Rick Steiner

DDP & Jay Leno vs. Hogan & Bischoff

Chris Jericho vs. Stevie Ray

Sting and Kevin Nash vs. Steiners

Sting & The Cat vs. The Great Muta & Vampiro

Hulk Hogan vs. Sting

Lex Luger vs. Steven Regal

Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan

Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Jeff Hardy

It's a really great deal, 4 bucks for such a wide variety of matches. I only wathced one match so far, Shawn Michael vs Yokozuna, and while the picture Quality isn't so hot, it definitly ran totally seemlessly, so I won't complain. I really hope they keep this up, and keep the prices low too. I could definitly see myself ordering this again.

I like that WWE is releasing stuff in their vault, but I wish they would through a few more bones to old school fans like myself. Seems like the selection here is just stuff from 1996-2002 besides the Hulk vs. Andre match.

My hopes are that with WWE 24/7 we get some rare stuff like MSG/Spectrum shows from the 70's & 80's. And posibally throw in some old Crockett NWA.

This is all well and good. I would suggest they expand it a bit beyond just being on the net. Tack these matches on the end of the PPVs or make use of the Comcasts On Demand service so you can watch them on your TV, tape them etc. Besides by being exclusively on-line not everybody will be able to take advantage of this considering alot of peeps have slow computers.

I second the motion to get alot of older complete MSG events from back in the day. I know there have to be a huge number of events on tape from the old Boston Garden, MSG, and other places from what I saw on the old Prime Time show.

They should throw some of these matches on the "On Demand" thing for digital cable. TNA does it. They should too. Goddamnitt.

this must be like the first sparks of their 24/7 channel intertests like a teaser or to gage if people truly want a wrestling channel

Tacking it onto the end of the PPV would cost them A LOT of money, as they'd have to pay Comcast, Direct TV, etc. for the extra amount of time.

And they don't want to give it out to Comcast because then it would make them seem like a company that doesn't have their shit in order. Plus, Comcast isn't going to want a company that's going to be starting an On Demand service using their On Demand service to promote the forthcoming On Demand service, if that makes any sense.

Quality is horrible on this btw. It's 300 kbs and its extremly pixalated. I regret buying it.

I'm assuming (read:hoping) that the quality will eventually be bumped up to 500K/s and cleaned up as tome goes on.

Eh....not that great of a selection. I have 90% of the WWE matches, about half of the WCW ones, and everything else doesn't look too interesting. I'd love to see Flair vs. Guerrero though.
