Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Dumont & Martin just won their first set against the Swiss in Women's Beach Volleyball. The Swiss team kept botching their serves and sending them out. Set 2 coming up. EDIT: We win in two straight sets. 21-13 in Set 2.
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 They have synchronized diving? That's interesting. Anyone remmember the Olympic Triple Cast on PPV from Barcelona. I actually got that for my Birthday when I was 13. In hindsight it was a stupid idea because a) I never really watched the Olympics before then and b) it was difficult to keep track of everything. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 14, 2004 China spanked the United States in volleyball. Absolutely pathetic. And Cuba also got upset by Germany. I no longer have any reason to continue watching the indoor tournament.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Boxing on MSNBC is what I am watching at the moment. Cuba beat Canada, not sure what weightclass. Guest Evolution Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Cuba beat up on the black Canadian in the Middleweight prelims, I think. Germany is supposedly surprising the Aussies in this field hockey, based on the announcers' reactions.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Russian middleweight destroyed the Philippines in boxing.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 14, 2004 I would LOVE to see the Cuban beat the shit out of the Russian. That would be great in a US-Russia Olympic hockey way. Except that well, the Cuban is probably favored here. But still politically speaking, it would be great seeing as how Russia abandoned Cuba after the Cold War in order to suck up to NATO. Yes, it's always a surprise when the team that came 4th in the World Cup beats a team that did so well I don't even remember their appearance in it. The 4x100m was a great race. That's the only WR broken at the moment?

Guest Nanks Report post Posted August 15, 2004 Good on Thorpedo for that 400m win, there was a huge amount of controversy over him racing in that and it's great to see him come through with the win. Today he went on to qualify fastest for the semis of the 200m. I know there's been a lot of talk about the 200m being the Thorpe-Phelps H2H, but I'm afraid to say that Phelps will do well to podium. Thorpe & Van Den Hoogenband will be filling the Gold & Silver and Hackett is swimming fucking well so he'll be fighting it out with Phelps for Bronze. 7 golds indeed.... The Aussie chicks in the 4x100 free were incredible. Libby & Jodie are looking great for medals in the individual event and it was awesome to see Petria Thomas finally get gold, hopefully she can double that up tonight in the 100m fly. I haven't seen Phelps yet, but if even half the hype is true he should be in for a show. But yeah, with the competition in that race it should be fantastic. also YAY for Australia being equal first.
